The lady working(not the owner) was so rude, she was darn near offensive. She kept butting in to my conversation with my friend about the clothes I was looking at(prepared to buy), saying what will and will not fit me. It was as if she wanted me to leave. BEYOND unacceptable behavior for any business person, especially considering I am a avid shopper & was in no way anything but courteous to her and about her [overpriced] merchandise.

If I let people affect my day, the woman who was running the place could have ruined what was a very nice Saturday visiting a beautiful town called Tehachapi. After having an amazing lunch and wine tasting my friend and I were hoping to find a few shops open in the downtown area. Unfortunately we quickly learned that everything closes early in Tehachapi, but we were happy to see that a cute little boutique was still open — granted it was 15 minutes before 6(their closing time). We ran across the street as the woman was bringing in her mannequins and asked, «May we look around quickly?» and she replied, «If you must» … I guess we should have just walked off at that point, but I saw several dresses that I was very interested in just inside the door and I’m not one to linger, I’m a quick shopper, especially when I know someone wants to get home. I quickly found a DARLING cream cocktail length lace dress with short sleeves — exactly what I have been looking for for a while! Also very affordable! I asked the woman if I could try it on, she replied in the rudest voice, «I’ll have to turn the light back on» … um, okay … but I kept my voice light and said, «I’ll be quick, I promise». I needed help with the back zipper, so I called my friend over, and the woman was just shooting the most awful looks at us. Unfortunately the Small was too big, but the woman was not even engaging with us — so she didn’t mention if they had an extra small, she was just giving us the«GETTHEHELLOUTNOW» look — and it was still 5 till 6:00. I loved the dress so much I seriously contemplated purchasing it and having it altered to fit, but the woman’s horrible rude unfriendly attitude prevented me from doing so. So my friend put it back on the hanger for me as I hastily dressed, and we said, «Thank you, have a nice day» to which the woman basically just snorted. Had she been friendlier I would have purchased that dress, been out of her shop by 6 and would have come back the next time I visited Tehachapi and bought much more.

Dahlia’s is a fantastic boutique. I am one of those people that is hesitant about shopping due to trying on an outfit where I say«I’m not really that big am I! I hate shopping.» Linda the owner is like a personal stylist… I told her I get overwhelmed shopping and ever since she hooks me up when I come to visit. She is honest and extremely helpful. The clothes are slender looking and extremely cute.

Wow, what a great experience I had today. The ladies were so helpful and picked out an awesome outfit for me to wear to work and church. they weren’t pushy and they were honest about what looked good and what did not. I just found my new store to shop in. Thank you Shirley Peters for introducing me to the shop. I can’t wait until next weekend to get me another outfit. What a great shop! thank you ladies for helping me pick out such an awesome outfit.

Not sure about a rude owner… I spoke to the older woman, she was very pleasant. The clothes were cute. I’ll come here if I am looking to shop.

I love this boutique. If you live in Tehachapi you know how much of a hassle it is to drive out of town for a decent clothing store or mall. Not with Dahlia though! Super cute store filled with many sizes, accessories, a sale rack and friendly service. I also love how they are always willing to special order items for you. My mom and I ordered lace bandeaus last year before our cruise and it was no problem.

If I could give less I would. I went into this store(first time) with my daughter to pick up a replacement watch. My kids bought a watch for my wife for mothers day and out of the box it was defective. As I inspected the replacement watch the owner argued with me that my kids were the ones who broke the watch. She soon found out that the replacement had the same problem. I had her show me how to put on the decorative ring, she cross threaded it on and handed it to me(the ring popped off in my hand). After arguing about store credit she finally handed my daughter $ 20 and kicked us out of the store. As we were leaving she called me a F#%~er and various other names. I don’t recommend any business where the owner can not control herself in front of children.

Very cute boutique. I wish I had more time to look as there was definitely an eye full. I was surprised that a small town had such a cute store. I was just passing through and had a few seconds to pop in. Of course I found something adorable. Love the down east line that is carried. A definite repeat if I find myself in town again!
