I am new to Tehachapi from Ventura … For my birthday I decided I wanted to pamper myself with a haircut and blow dry. I saw this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try I’m not too picky about what I like or anything a lot of stylists seem to be intimidated cause I have so much hair… I went in without an appointment and the lady working there which I am sure she is the owner told me to come back so I did with no problem. When I came back I believe her mother was there and she was just finishing up which I waited there patiently her mom even looked back and smiled which to me was nice I like nice people… However once her mother had left it was just the owner and I and she just seemed bothered from the get go I tried to talk to her and ask her how her day was and stuff and she didn’t seem interested in me or a conversation so it was awkward. I told her how I wanted my hair layers with a v shape and I wanted a blow dry I didn’t want a wash cause I had already washed my hair prior and so she barely wet it with a spray bottle and was brushing it so hard like really !!! Obviously it needs to be are more so I just stayed quiet and to myself the cut came out good I like it When it came to blow drying I asked her if she had product cause I wanted a lot of volume and body since I’m going to dinner for my birthday she didn’t have any product which is weird to me I used to attend Paul Mitchell the school and to me one of the things I enjoyed most was using all products on different textures of hair and expirimenting esp since cosmetology is something that you are always learning something no matter how many years of experience… She was pulling my hair so hard like it wasn’t necessary and I felt like she was doing it because she was upset or something my hair had no volume or body I paid extra for something I could have don’t myself and a lot better. she also hit my head with the brush. And when she was pulling my hair so hard my head was going back I was so ready to just walk out half done and not pay but I believe in karma. So I waited until she was done it was so awkward and uncomfortable I gave her my card didn’t tip her and left… I do not recommend this place to anyone and I of course will not be coming back honestly her work is okay not the best I have had but her attitude sucks and the fact that she was rushing didn’t make me feel comfortable or welcomed. All I wanted to do was pamper myself for my birthday … I hope she reads this and takes notes.

We’ve been coming here for a few years now. She’s very nice and seems to cut our hair to our satisfaction. She is a salon of one and we are usually seen the same day. I see that she’s listed under ‘Barber’ but is actually a beauty salon.
