Big 5 Sporting Goods

Big 5 — big ripoff — went in to buy some fishing gear for an up coming lake trip. Chose my lures etc and saw a box of small rods and reels marked with a hand written red sign advertising them for $ 10:99. Bought one along with a lot of other stuff and left the store. Later on looking over my receipt I found they charged me $ 31:95. Headed back to get the mistake corrected but found a cashier who went and got the $ 10:99 sign, brought it to the cash register then called a manager. This guy doesn’t want to make good the difference then walks over to the display and says some poles in this display are special and aren’t priced as advertised. I’m trying to explain you can’t post a sale and charge me full price. He keeps making excuses why he won’t honor the special including that maybe some one else moved the sign over there where it didn’t belong. Really! Finally after telling him in front of other customer what I thought of Big 5 policy and management he said I could have my money back if I brought the pole back. I’m not happy about this living a distance away but am so mad by now I do it and another manager (not friendly or apologetic) gives me my money back. This behavior will be turned into «Corporate» believe me. Watch these people for bait and switch. They worked hard to rip me off. How many others have they done it to. Ken Boyle — Temecula

Excellent customer service! First, Candice is extremely nice and very patient. She took the time to answer all of my son’s questions about EVERY fire arm in the store. Tommy is also excellent. Not only does he provide excellent customer service but he truly follows up and is a man of his word. I asked him to transfer two pairs of shoes in from another store and he took care of it right away. Then I asked him to call me when an out-​of-​stock item came in and he did the same day it arrived. Great attitude, very professional. Going forward, I will only shop at this store for all of my sporting needs.

Came in looking for some snow gloves after going to 4 other locations. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped. The gentleman walked me over to the section and boom I found the rite size and color.

I went in with my son and was immediately asked if we needed any help. We were asked several more times before we left. The employees were very friendly to us and made sure that we knew they were there to help with anything we needed help with. They had a great selection of merchandise and my son and I had a great time just walking around and looking. They have great deals and prices as well.

I like this Big 5 because the staff is pretty friendly, there is always a sale and it’s next to Aztek tacos. Everytime I come here I’m always greeted by a hello and that always goes a long way with me. I don’t need you to be overly friendly try to get to know me but a least acknowledge me. I love how they have great sales that last for sometimes weeks and it seems like they are always having some type of sale. If I see something that I like and it’s not on sale then I just won’t buy it because I know at some point it well be on sale. They have a nice selection of ammo but they usually sell out pretty quick so if you’re not on it you will miss out. I’ve never bought a firearm here but it looks like they only sell rifles. Overall this is a nice spot to build up your arsenal.

The prices here are great compared to other sporting good stores in the area, but you pay for it in the limited selection. One of the best places in town to get an inexpensive pair of shoes.

I called & spoke to Justin. Not only did he give me awesome customer service on the phone he assisted me in my purchase & assembly.

When I came here this morning, I was then assisted by two guys and they both got me what I wanted. They’re so helpful. It’s not that big of a place like most Big 5 stores, so there’s really not much of a huge selection on some items. But the price, I’d say I’m most satisfied with it. I bought a pair of hiking shoes, and Katelyn, the cashier over there gave me half the price (she said it was on sale a few days ago, but she still gave me half the price) I was so happy with my purchase today!

My aunt says this location has been here for a while so I’m surprised I didn’t see it on Unilocal.This is the smallest Big 5 I’ve ever been in but, the staff is friendly and we found what we needed. Not a huge selection of anything particular. Just a little of everything. If you need to pick up a couple things this place prob has it. If you want variety go to a larger location or another store.
