Camp Bow Wow Temecula

We are very experienced dog owners and have boarded our 16 pound guy at three other facilities (one of them a CBW) in three other States where we have resided. He stayed on three different occasions which we had no choice because no other kennels nearby had overnight space. What we noticed right away is that the facility is in an industrial park and the kennels in a warehouse building with no true outdoor facilities. The dogs are on concrete all day in very small space compared to the number of dogs they cram into that small space. There is nothing for the dogs to do on the concrete floor and no outdoor area to roam around in. When we tried to discuss our concerns with the number of dogs crammed together in such a small play area with staff — we were met with just a stare and told there was no manager on duty but they would have her call us. Took five days before we got the call and what a waste of our time. Our dog has never been back and we found a new dog boarding facility that has a friendlier and a truly caring professional staff. Rather than a group of very young teens that we experienced each time at the CBW… Not to forget the highest rates we have ever paid for overnight boarding.

I want to start this review by saying that any business has the right to determine which clients it will take on, and with this specific business, the interview process to be accepted as a client makes that point clear. So when the business informed us we were no longer able to board our dog, we were not upset about the news. We’ve always known that it was a possibility. The reason for this review is to address the lack of courtesy and professionalism in handling these situations, and this 1 star reflects our most recent experience.
Our dog has been a «camper» at this facility for over 3 years. We board her when we go on trips, or even last minute emergency situations where we needed to board her with no notice. It is so important for any dog owner to have a good plan in place to ensure care for their pets. Our dog camped here at least a few times each year. She was a repeat customer, and based on history, it would have been reasonable for this business to expect that she would again camp with them. A couple of days ago, we scheduled boarding for our dog to stay for 7 days. We have a trip planned in just over a week, so she needed to board her. Later that day, we get a call informing us that she cannot stay there. Not due to her aggression. They even informed us that she is very submissive with the other dogs. They let us know that she gets too excited and jumps on the counselors. With her size and weight it hurts and scratches the camp counselors. Our problem is that the last time she stayed with them was in March. I always ask for feedback, and there was no indication from her stay in March that she was going to be asked not to return. The courteous and professional thing to do would have been to tell us, in March, that she would not be able to return. Not in June with less than two weeks to find alternative boarding. The management of this facility needs to gain the courage and professionalism to have these conversations with their clients in a manner that is courteous, and allows time to line up alternative care. I can’t imagine calling them in an emergency situation and being told your dog can’t stay there.
As a side note, they offered up their training services to see if they can help the behavior. With the lack of experience the counselors have displayed in acting as the dominant pack leader in the camp setting, I am not too confident they would be successful training her. Good advice though. I think we’ll get her trained elsewhere!

Our issue was resolved with Camp Bow Wow. Our pets truly loved attending and we never worried about the quality of care they were receiving!

Personal attention, very clean, pleasant staff. Our Bentley loves going there and he gets «social skills» towards other dogs.

First impressions mean a lot and ours was great when we walked into Camp Bow Wow. The attention Howie was given put us at ease, a huge thing for his first stay at a dog camp. We loved that we could watch him throughout the day online. But our biggest «like» is that he wanted to walk back into your camp the next day!

My small dog was at camp bow wow for a week as we couldn’t bring him with us as we typically do.
While in there care he devolved kennel cough. He also lost 5 lbs for a 29 lbs dog this is in my opinion to much.

We usually have sitters come to the house but were unable to these dates so I asked our groomer, Dirty Paws, and we were recommended to Camp BowWow. We appreciated the questions asked on the application as they showed the experience and professionalism of this facility. We were confident our boy n girl would do well at the interview which was a fun day at camp for them. They ended up staying three nights as well and seemed to have enjoyed the time as we witnessed from the doggy cam, it’s addicting. The staff were friendly and caring. The facility is clean and spacious. Your dogs will love it.

We are new to the area and I was looking for a place where our 2 yr old Maltese can meet new friends and have some fun during the day. Right away I was greeted on the phone by a super friendly staff member and I took our Cali over for her first visit. Everyone has been so friendly and I genuinely feel that we have found a great place for us to trust our little Cali for day camp or for over night stay.

I am very disappointed with the boarding and treatment my large dog received recently at Camp Bow Wow Temecula. The dog yards were constantly left unattended and my dog was constantly mounted by the other dogs. I needed to call consistently to ask them to check on my dogs as well as the other dogs being mistreated! After the dogs were constantly left unattended, I reviewed the other Camp Bow Wows and there was always a person in the yard when the dogs were present. I will definitely will not be returning to this Camp Bow Wow.

I was hesitant to bring my 6 month puppy anywhere for a few hours of socialization. When I called Camp Bow Wow of Temecula, I was reassured that the staff is well trained and they answered all of my questions and concerns. I was able to schedule an evaluation for Hudson and was very pleased when I arrived. Of course it smelled like dogs, which I expected but I really liked the staff.
I will definitely be back!

I love these guys. My dog is always excited to come here, I’ve boarded him and he’s been a happy camper, I use their groomer — Trina is excellent, my dog has had multiple training lessons with Kendra who is wonderful. She taught him/​me the best words ever … Leave it!

I recommend Camp Bow Wow in Temecula to anyone who is looking for a safe place to leave their dogs for hours or days.

Our 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Daisy May, loved her few days at Camp Bow Wow. She’s a very socially shy puppy, but very rambunctious at home! We watched her on the webcams while we were away and the staff was always so loving with her since she gravitated towards them. I LOVE how we can spy on her playing all day long! She returned home a lot calmer with people and less socially anxious with other dogs. Daisy will be camping at Camp Bow Wow again soon!

Called to set up interview for one dog and explained that the other had beem to a camp bow wow in another state. Lady told me I needed proof from Texas that one dog had already been to a camp bow wow or he would have to interview again. I said reinterview would be fine because I wanted them to stay together. I brought both my dogs to their interview and was informed that i would charged for day care for one dog because he had been at a camp bow wow before. Seriously? ?? I was Disappointed but still left them for the interview.
After 3 hours of finding something to do i returned to collect my dogs. Not only were the employees at the desk unfriendly but they also double checked several times to be sure I paid the day care fee. They myst be in serious financial trouble or just plain greedy.
I had a couple of issues at a prior camp bow wow but was willing to give them another try. Strike three.

Well, this review would actually be better written by my border collie. He obviously just loves coming to Camp Bow Wow. I can hardly contain him in the car as he can sense that a full day of playing with new buddies is just up the road. He comes home happy and exhausted.
5 stars is just right for this doggy day camp. The staff is always awesome and they really love what they do. Big kudos to Melissa and all her employees.

We have been using Camp Bow Wow for nine years. First in Austin, TX for six and here in Temecula for three. They have always taken goid care of my pups. No worries for overnight stays when on vacation. They also offer a home service for pee breaks and leg stretches when I’m working and will be gone for more hours than my pups can handle.
Highly recommend them!

The staff was very friendly and they all seemed to love dogs! I really liked the report card/​daily reports. I was happy to be able to check online to see my dog. Thank you for taking care of her! Heather (& Gigi).

Initially during the four and half hour «interview/​trial stay» I was not sure if this place could handle my two five month old puppies’ needs. Watching them on the webcam app was a number one factor why I chose this place and I monitored them closely. Following week the puppies were boarded here for four nights. A different size category helped considerably, they were happy and well taken care of. The plus was them saving the first tooth of one while teething to give to me. Would highly recommend and I will be using them again.
