Came in at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. No ribs available. How does a BBQ place not have ribs. We left unhappy.

The food was decent and quickly prepared. Staff was friendly. The restaurant was simple but clean. My only problem with the place was that definitely way over priced. Probably wouldn’t go back

Drove down and ate at this place last night giving them three stars because the food is so good normally but the service last night was bad. The guy that rang me up after paying them $ 90 for meal for my family told me bring out the rest of my food and never did and then when I finally asked him about the rest of my food he looked at me as if I was crazy and then had someone else bring it out and it was the wrong stuff it was actually after we had finished eating so I just told them to get it to go never apologize for not taking care of it or anything and I think he is the manager there or maybe the older I’ve seen them there the couple times I’ve been there is always ringing it’s up thank God there’s one opening up in Lake Elsinore because I will be the one I’ll drive to instead of coming over to this one possibly just a bad night but bad service should always be taken care of or least an apology

Good bbq, not the best, but worth dropping by when you’re in the mood for some fast bbq. Mashed potatoes aren’t that good but the ribs were delicious.

If you want good bbq. Forget this place. Dry over cooked. I’ve been to original Dicky’s in TX. Wasn’t impressed there either. It’s just too commercial with cookie cutter bbq

I got a pulled pork and it was bomb. Honestly just went there for free ice cream on the way out.

Severely disappointed. Just walked out of location because we were informed that they were currently out of just about everything on the menu. In reality it was an hour before closing and they had either stored everything prematurely or threw it in the garbage. I find it in bad taste for a business to be out of so many items at once. This is no exaggeration, the list the employee behind the counter recited was enormous… literally only two meats remained and four sides. You’d better be in the mood for ham or turkey. Terrible service, high school employees.

Went there yesterday and it wasn’t great. The chipped brisket was ok but the red was sub-par. Also, I know this isn’t food related but why is the AC turned on blast? Couldn’t wait to get out of there! I gave it another star for the free soft serve.

We really enjoy dining here. Staff is always nice and seems to remember us. Food is great. Love the different BBQ sauces. Kids love the sweet tea and free ice cream. I love the pulled pork and jalapeño green beans. Sunday kids eat free is great deal and they even have the NFL game playing usually.

Recently I had a family reunion at my house in Murrieta, CA. My Granddaughter said she wanted to handle it. She had Dickey’s cater it. I was surprised cause I figured she’d do Mex. Well, they hit it out of the park. Quality, quantity, delivery, set up and price. We had 30 people and when we were done we had food left over that we ate for the next 2 days.

I had low expectations, frankly, as most barbecue restaurants in the San Diego area suck… and generally chains/franchises suck worse!!! Small(470 locations as of 1/15, lol) franchise operated restaurant… however…it was pretty good. My buddy lives up in Temecula and needed help getting ready for a move to another state and we were hungry… he had never tried Dickey’s. We got a Picnic Pack(on the counter clerk’s recommendation, otherwise, would have paid quite a bit more!!) which feeds 2 – 4 — choice of 1 meat(1 lb.), 2 medium sides, 4 rolls & barbecue sauce. We got sliced brisket, beans, coleslaw and an extra meat — -1 lb of their spicy cheddar sausage. The brisket has a nice bark to it, definitely slow smoked and not grilled… pleasant flavor. The coleslaw was crisp, but a bit lacking in flavor. The beans were a hit, great bbq flavor, strong pepper bite, nice consistency. The spicy cheddar sausage was really a pleasant surprise. Usually, when you have a cheese/sausage, the cheese melts out at some point, and that was not the case with this one. Spicy, but not hot, and nice big chunks of recognizable cheese flavor and texture. Would order this again. My friend used the rolls to make small sandwiches and said they were good, soft, but with enough of a crust that they didn’t get mushy or pasty. They have free soft serve ice cream for paying customers, which would be really nice for families dining in, but we got the food to go. I preferred their original sauce, my friend liked the sweet version… they also have a spicy sauce which we tried, but liked the other sauces more. As I said, we were both hungry, and there was still about ½ order beans and coleslaw, about 1⁄3 lb beef and about 4″ of sausage leftover after we ate like porkers, so that represents fair value to me, as it is ATLEAST a full meal for 1 person remaining. It’s better than Phil’s, not as good as Abby’s Texas… but it is a decent barbecue in an unexpected location. Our meal without drinks was about $ 45.00.

I came here once when they first opened and was not impressed. I came by again just a couple weeks ago just to see if they were different and again I left disappointed. I spent about $ 23 for a small meal and sandwich that I ended up taking home to my dogs. The food is just hunks of meat that I do not find flavorful. The lady that took our order at the register looked like she didn’t want to be working there. She did not smile nor give us any impression that we were welcome. I think that for the same price point, Lucille’s BBQ would be a much better choice. I also do not like that they use giant plastic cups. I will not be coming back again.

Yesterday was the first time that I’ve been to any Dickey’s restaurant. My husband has been wanting to try them and yesterday I had a taste for a baked potato so we decided to give them a go and get some of their giant bakers. There were multiple problems from the beginning. Initially I attempted to place my order online. After going through the whole process of choosing all of our toppings for our potato, when I tried to submit the order, it would not go through. I kept getting some type of message about the location not working so I went ahead and called it in. When I called it in, I explained that I couldn’t get the order to process online and wanted to just order everything exactly like I had it online. I was told that this was not a problem. I ordered our potatoes with the toppings that we wanted and the guy on the phone said that it would be 5 – 10 minutes. I told him that I would arrive in 15 minutes to pick them up. 17 minutes later after I arrived, I am told that my order is not ready. I spoke with the same guy that took my phone order and he tells me that the order isn’t complete because they don’t put bacon on their potatoes and I ordered all of them with bacon. I honestly don’t know why this was even a real conversation but he kept insisting that even though it says«bacon bits» online as an option, and even though I, the customer, requested bacon, they did not put bacon on the potatoes. After a few minutes he finally said he would go make the bacon but that it would require an additional 10 minutes. I asked him, if their policy was to not put bacon on the top of the potatoes, why was it an option online, and then when I spoke with him earlier to place my order, why did he not mention it then? He had no response… I asked to speak with a manager but I was told that the manager was not available and I would have to call back in a day or two to speak to someone. So about 15 – 20 minutes later, I finally walk out with my order that was supposed to take 5 – 10 minutes. Unfortunately that’s not where the problems ended… When I got home and we took the potatoes out, the first thing that we noticed was the lack of «giant» in the size. They seemed like regular potatoes, nothing giant about them. But then we assumed that they cost as much as they did for the meat and toppings so that’s fine. However, as I began to eat mine, I noticed that it was ROTTEN in a number of areas. I started eating on one side and that was fine but when I went to the opposite end my fork took off this huge brown chunk of rotten potato. Upon further inspection, I had to cut away about 1⁄3 of the potato on the right side to get all of the rotten parts off. At that point I was just thinking that I would finish what was edible and then probably never go to another Dickey’s Barbeque Pit again. However I cut the potato more to make sure that there were no more rotten areas, and there were MOREROTTENAREAS on the side of the potato. So at this point there were more rotten parts than just the one end. The rotten part on the side was not just brown, it was black, and looked like there was some mold starting to grow on it. I think it was completely unacceptable for something that looked like this to be served. I would think that more care would be taken when preparing the potatoes before baking them… Why would anyone serve a customer a rotten potato??? After this, I took this back to the restaurant. The same staff was working there, and the guy that took my order just looked me and said«yeah, what’s up?» I found that to be highly unprofessional, however I went on to explain that I received a rotten potato and they seemed like they were shocked. I opened the box and turned over the numerous parts that were brown, black and moldy and then they finally said, okay, well we can give you a refund and make you a new potato. Still there was some confusion even about that because one guy told me that he didn’t know how to do the refunds so instead he would just give me two potatoes. Then the woman working there told me that she was able to do the refund. They did make me a new potato, I asked to see the potato before they put any toppings to make sure that there were not rotten parts again. The guy seemed a little annoyed but did allow me to see it after he cut in and before he put on the toppings. I have this 2 stars instead of just 1 just because they did re-make the potato and did give me a refund on one of the potatoes… but the lack of attention to detail when cooking the food, or even when cleaning the potato makes me very wary to revisit this establishment. Typically it is fairly easy to tell if a potato has a bad or rotten area so for them to still use it makes me wonder about their standards for their food. I don’t know that I will be back to any of the restaurants in the Dickey’s Barbeque Pit chain, but if I happen to visit another one, I hope they pay more attention to detail and provide better service

Went back last month, just to hopefully expand my BBQ choices in the valley. Same thing! Not sure what I was thinking. Oh wait, the fried okra was good, hot, and plentiful. Let see. .. . I went there for BBQ. 1 star!

First less than positive experience for me at this restaurant. I ordered my food and some pickles on the side with very specific request for No Onions. The person that was getting my pickles dropped some of them in the Onion case right in front of me. Not the end of the world but I didn’t want those pickles on my plate. When the server started to put them on my plate I apologized and asked her not to. She got defensive with me and said that the pickles that fell in the onion case were thrown away. However since I watched this happen I wasn’t convinced and asked her to take the pickles off my plate she begrudging did. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth for this place. Really silly in the grand scheme of life but I just don’t like Onions at all and don’t like to be messed with about it. The whole thing could have been avoided by a smile and taking my request serious …

I am a fan of Dickies BBQ … My first review was based on the food, which I still enjoy; however, the management, staff, and resulting service at this location is BAD. They all seem to continually forget that their job is to serve food to the customer and not give off an attitude or make smart comments under their breath when they think no one is around to hear. Service as been an issue for a long time at this location and it transcends employees which makes me believe there is an manger issue. For a long time I would come to Dickies once a week, with their service issues I rarely go there anymore and when I do I am alway greeted by a grumpy, ungrateful, staff. It is very disappointing and unless it is addressed I am sure this location will go out of business soon.

In search of good barbecue around town, I was hoping to get something decent at Dickey’s. My first visit wasn’t the best, and after some inner debate for a while I came back to give this location another chance, but I reached the same conclusion both times. I experienced subpar service and food during my dines. The first time, I ordered the Brisket Sandwich and found it to be in need of their sauce because it was so dry. The original sauce is okay, better than the spicy one. When placing my order, I was told that there was no mac and cheese available for a side. Fine, I got the bacon and beans instead(wish I had gotten something else though). After I got my food and sat down, a few customers came in and were able to order mac and cheese. What? If it was a matter of just making another batch, I was fine with waiting a couple of minutes, so I wondered why they couldn’t inform me of that instead of telling me straight out to pick something else. To top it off, when I went to get the complimentary ice cream, there were no cones left, so I brought it to the attention of the staff. This same worker who misinformed me of the order just looked at me and said there were cones in the box under the machine. So I, the customer, had to reach under and open the big box to grab a cone out. Luckily one of his colleagues noticed and handled the cones before I opened the box. On my most recent visit, I decided to order another barbecue sandwich, but to go. After asking me if I wanted anything on it(I said I wanted everything, including sauce), I thought I overheard a conversation between the workers about my order when I was getting my drink. Low and behold I opened the bag later on only to find a bare meat dry sandwich with nothing else I requested. Is it so hard to clarify with the customer if you forget the order? I gave this Dickey’s the benefit of the doubt once, but after consistent lack of competence in the staff, it is unlikely that I will return.

This revue is not indicative of Dickey’s Barbeque Pity at all. This is ONLY for the TEMECULA Location. I enjoy the chain and wanted to stop in when I was in the neighborhood 2 days ago, around 2:00 pm. well, location was easy to spot and there was parking right up front. I entered and walked up to the cashier station — it was empty. No one behind the counter at all. There was one person, whom I believe to be the manager. He was busy chatting it up with a customer… more like a friend. He didn’t give a hoot about me never acknowledged me in the lightest and I could not make eye contact. I have no idea what they were talking about — it didn’t even seem to be very intense — more just laid back catching up on the days events. I gave him a chance. I made a grunt and let loose with a deep sigh while idylly standing by waiting for a response. What seemed like 10 minutes, but was only 2 I finally turned and told the gentleman to not worry about me at all that I am sure his personal business is much more important than anything I could possibly bring to the restaurant — like cash. Needless to say I was chased into the parking lot and my car, begging me to stay. NOT. So, I guess the reviews I’d heard verbally from my friends are true — the service really bites the big one here.
