I had the pleasure of learning a lot today from Kathy Callahan-Smith, who is quite knowledgable about horses. The weather was perfect for our scheduled ride~ just for the fun of it! I was given a quick Horses 101 course about basic facts that one must know before riding a horse! As per my request, Kathy has selected «Sly» for me, an older docile but beautiful white horse! Kathy’s tutorial during the leisure ride, was fascinating & helped me understand more about those majestic animals! The best part was at the very end when I got to hand-feed two horses carrots & apples!
It was a perfect day & I would encourage those interested to check the place out.
Thank you Kathy for helping me cross one more thing off my bucket list!

We brought our child to Kathy for her second tiny tot lesson and we couldn’t have been happier! Kathy was very patient and informative. Roxy (the horse) was extremely calm and patient as well. Our little one had an exceptional lesson and is still talking about how much fun she had! I highly recommend KCS equestrian if you are thinking about lessons.

My son took riding lessons with Kathy for several years and we were so happy with our experience there. Kathy is patient with children (no small feat) and always puts safety first with her instruction, which is so important with horseback riding. The only reason we are leaving is due to a military-mandated, cross-country move. Otherwise, my son would be taking lessons at KCS for many years to come. He has learned so much at KCS! Highly recommended.

My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons here for 2 years. She absolutely loves it! Kathy teaches her how to groom, saddle and ride, as well as safety around the horses. She is great with kids. There are horse camps for the kids during school breaks as well. Overall, a great place!

This was my first horseback riding experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly!
KCS is a spacious horse ranch located in South Temecula. There’s a variety of breeds to accommodate riders at any level.
The owner, Kathy, gave me a nice lesson on horse behaviors before we started riding. She showed me how to maintain safety precautions and how to brush the horse.
Once the actual riding portion of the lesson began, I rode a Quarter Horse while Kathy rode alongside of me on her horse.
I felt very safe the entire time. On the track, there are mirrors to help you with your posture (which is essential to horseback riding). I was able to take pictures with my horse and when the lesson was over, I fed my horse some treats.
Great experience!
