This place closing its doors is the best thing that’s ever happened to itself. The worst fish’n’chips I’ve ever had. Soggy batter, fish tasted terrible, like defrosted refrozen then defrosted a 2nd time terrible. The fries were gross, they seemed to be left under a heatlamp for hours. I love that this place is no longer in business.

It’s hard to find GOOD fish ‘n’ chips. Lots of places claim to do them right, and they are completely wrong. Ocean Fresh Fish & Chips didn’t disappoint! First, the prices are reasonable. $ 11.99 for a 2-piece, with a side, is good. We were delighted to come on Tuesday, which knocked off 2 bucks off each order, so that made it a bargain!(if you come in on Wednesday, you’ll get $ 3 knocked off a 3-piece — we’re coming next Wednesday). Next, the food was absolutely delicious. Batter was light and tender, and neither too thick nor too skimpy — perfection. I also appreciate that the food wasn’t cooked in old oil — everything was fresh. Fillets were good sized, and absolutely delicious, and the tarter sauce was yummy. We ordered fries as the side(choice of fries, coleslaw or salad), and they were thin and cooked well — not greasy, and seasoned well. Portions were plentiful and served on attractive square dinnerware(okay, it’s a nice touch I thought worth mentioning). Service was super friendly and helpful, and the place was clean. This is a hidden gem in Temecula — I’m one happy customer, and we’ll be back soon!

Excellent food and service. Price was fair. Their hand battered fried cod was probably one of the best ones I had in many years. Highly recommended.

Expensive… But you get what you pay for. Clean restaurant, great service, kind people, quiet location, and most important. amazing food! We will be going back. This will be at least once a month place to eat to treat ourselves. We don’t eat out often.

Meh. Shrimp po boy had a tasty sauce but was wondering why it wasn’t served on the same buttery roll as the lobster roll. Lobster roll was good and fresh but wasn’t stuffed full like in the other Unilocal pictures. Hot chocolate was out of a Keurig, just don’t order it. This place is new and I’d like to support it, but it needs some improvements. Fries don’t come with the sandwiches, we ordered it in addition. Hope this place survives, it has potential since there isn’t another place that serves po boys. But they need to get rid of that log-sized dry dusty bread they use to serve some of their sandwiches in. Stick with that golden buttery roll on all sandwiches and maybe I’d come back.

Came here for lunch with my parents. We had the fish & chips and a bowl of clam chowder. The meal was outstanding. The fish pieces had large chunks of fish. It was very impressive. The taste is great. The fish looked and tasted fresh. The clam chowder is like a stew because they’re are so many clams and pieces of potato. The clams tasted fresh and were not canned. Definitely coming back here with the rest of the family. The staff was very informative and friendly.

Finally a place close to home. This place has fresh seafood, the staff is friendly, and the price is great!!! They have a upscale menu with an affordable price. The clam chowder bowl and The ahi sliders are outstanding.

Pretty expensive for fish and chips in my opinion and the customer service was whatever. «If you have time to lean, you have time to clean» — they say it for a reason. Good customer service man… it really is hard to find nowadays. People, people, people, you can’t fake good customer service.

Came in on Saturday for a quick bite. Unfortunately the fish and chips were outrageously expensive! 15 bucks for two pieces of fish and some french fries. You’re better off going to Killarneys for $ 11.50 and you get beer! The owner was great! Unfortunately the prices are just too high to want to come back.

I get my haircut at Stew’s and then walk past this place every week to shop at Albertsons. I never gave it a though, and then one day I decided to try it out. Boy am I glad I did! The chowder is thick and so good. The shrimp po-boy is awesome. Their fish and chips are on another level. To top it off, the owner(I believe) is a super nice guy and I find myself enjoying my lunch while I shoot the breeze with him and whoever else is in there eating. A down home place with GREAT food and service. Check it out if you’re in the area!!!

We came here today for lunch and we loved it! The gentleman working the front was so nice and helpful giving us suggestions on what what was his favorite. Hubby got the grilled salmon plate and he really enjoyed it and my daughter had the kids chicken which she also enjoyed. I had the ahi sliders and they were amazing(even my 5 year old liked them). We all agreed that we were all going to be getting those the next time we went. I also got the New England clam chowder that was also very good. I liked the bacon flavor that was in there. The only suggestions I have are to maybe put the menu up on the wall and to play some music. It was too quiet lol. We will definitely be going back… maybe this weekend hahaha! Love having another delicious seafood restaurant in the area!

Marcus comes from a land that really knows seafood. Marcus wasn’t sure about eating seafood from a shopping center food joint but Marcus was surprised. Marcus is good wit da Lord so he’ll be coming back here every Friday. The fish and chips was battered dark but cooked perfectly. The fries were good. The clam chowder is amazing, thick and really good. The grilled Ahi was delicious and served on some really fresh rice.

I love fish and chips and I get them everywhere, and this is the best I’ve had. They have a really good batter that i wont be able to describe in a worthy way. It just makes everything they put it on have an added creamy crunchy yummy flavor. You just gotta try it. Fish and chips can be made or broken by its tarter sauce. This place had such good tarter sauce. They make it there, They also had fantastic house-made cocktail sauce. mmm so good. I also tried there fried zuchini, fried shrimp, and coleslaw. All of them really good. I’m a sweet coleslaw person, and their coleslaw isn’t sweet, but its still really good. Prices are higher than the average counter service restaurant, $ 13.95 for a 3 piece fish and chips meal. But that is the going rate for a 3 piece fish and chips dinner at most restaurants around here. So it makes sense. The atmosphere needs a little work, but they are brand-new and I assume they will decorate more in the future. They need some pictures on the wall and some atmosphere music. I’ll definitely be back to try their Ahi sliders, and their fried green tomato sandwich.

This place exceeded my expectations. By chef suggestion I had the sword fish. Never liked it much at other places, but this was perfect. Thick piece of fish, grilled just right, and whatever the marinate was its great. My bf got their friend green tomatoes sandwich and said it was the best he ever had. He’s not a small man and couldn’t even finish it all. Neither could I. Plentiful servings. Can’t wait for my leftovers.

Went here with my girlfriend on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was attentive, courteous and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. Between us we had the market swordfish dinner, a sampling of their fish and chips, and my personal favorite: the fried green tomato sandwhich. A taste combo that is out of this world. Very unique. Havent seen green tomatoes done like that since my days in IL. Highly recommend.

I went there yesterday. First off, I am a seafood lover. I grew up at the beach in So. CA and used to buy fish right off the fishermen as they pulled up onto the shore. I cook fresh fish at least 3 times a week. I have eaten fish and chips in London and several places around the USA. I’ve only found 1 place in the USA that makes fish and chips the way they should be — that place is in Redondo Beach, CA and it has been there for over 30 years so there must be a reason! Secondly, Ocean Fresh seems to be a franchise/chain and I am betting they get their fish and chips already breaded and frozen shipped to them from their franchiser so… Not sure what part is «fresh» maybe the«seasonal» fish which is at «market price»? The fish and chips I ordered were cooked a dark almost black color and not the golden color I expect. The fish used was a white fish but there was so much batter I could not tell what kind of fish was used nor really taste it. Speaking of the batter, the breading was as one Unilocaler stated, the same as a corn dog. Not a beer batter. The«chips» were similar to MickyDs and were probably also frozen. In fact I could have ordered a fish filet and a side of french fries at the new McDonalds located in the same center for a 1⁄3 of the cost of my fish n chips and gotten the same results! I ordered a side of coleslaw and it was not creamy and was very bland. I had high hopes for this place since the seafood places around Temecula are few and far between. I also don’t like to slam a new business as I know the struggles but I don’t have much hope for this place lasting in the long term especially in this still soft economy where everyone is watching a buck. Price not worth the poor quality.

Stumbled upon this place on our way home from the winery. Fish and chips places are few and far between. This place was a welcome site. The owner welcomed us and presented us the full menu. The full menu. I tried a few times to interject and ask a question, but he kept going, as if reciting a monologue. He was passionate, and we appreciated that. On to the food… most of the items were of course, of the fried variety. Hey, that’s exactly what we were looking for. Fish and chips combos were a pretty good deal. While initially at a higher price tag, when the food actually came, the sides were a huge portion and there was a ton of food for 1 combo. The fish was tasty, but to echo some sentiments, was soggy. The breading was just too soggy. Perhaps the large crowd was overwhelming and forced them to cook too many to a batch, but it was sadly ruined. The fried shrimp were also soggy. The shrimp inside wasn’t over cooked and was a good size, so I ate it anyway. The combo came with 2 sides. I picked the clam chowder and fried zucchini. The zucchini was sadly also soggy on the outside. Ugh. The chowder was just ok. The owner said something about running out, but having something for us. Um, I would’ve just preferred something else. My friend said her coleslaw was ok. Another friend of mine said her fish sandwich was pretty good. She killed it, so I believe that. I know this place just opened, and I see it doing well with a bit of quality control. I’d love to try some of their grilled fish dishes, as those seem to do better than the fried. The owner himself will make this place shine.

My third time here and they definitely did not disappoint. Finally had the chance to try the fried green tomato sandwich. Soooo good. It Had crispy bacon, avocado, and pesto… delish. I split it with my cousin and it was more than enough. Also had the grilled salmon salad. They really know how to grill fish here. It was perfect. The salad was huge. Totally ordering that again. I can’t wait for next month… They’re adding a grilled ahi tuna sandwich to the menu. Yum.

I would like to start by saying I’m not a big fan of Fish and Chips and never have been. I can take it or leave it… Until I found Ocean Fresh Fish & Chips. I live in San Diego and will drive to Temecula just to get a healthy version of seafood from a Fish and Chips place… Of all things… It’s grilled, not greasy and comes with jasmin rice and salad of your choice… I usually get the caesar salad. My first visit was the grilled Salmon and can I say OMG it was a religious experience. My second visit was the grilled shrimp and again you’d thought you’d died and gone to food heaven. Due to health reasons I have to eat healthy and we all know eating out is not the Healthiest way to go… But, now that I found a place where I can enjoy a day trip up north and get a descent meal at a descent price… I’m all over that one… Congrats Ocean Fresh on your opening and I’ll be back for more… NODOUBT!!!

I live across the street so I’m here all the time. I get the New England Clam Chowder bread bowl. I’ve always had a craving for it, but there aren’t really any places in town that serve it. It’s definitely my favorite. I’ve also had the fried green tomato sandwich. I’m not a fan of tomatoes at all, but I love it! Their fries, the best. The fish baskets are good also! I need to try the dinner entrees and salads, but all in all I would recommend this place to anyone. Also, the owners are very friendly and always welcoming. They know me by name and my order!
