I’d give it a 3.5 because the owner is so friendly but I’ve had better food. I ordered 3 beef rolls tacos with rice and beans(the meal special) and when I opened my to go box I thought they’d given me a kids meal. The rolled tacos were literally half the size I’m used to at every other mexican restaurant in the area, the portions of rice and beans were small and everything lacked salt and tasted like it had been sitting a for a while. The rolls tacos we’re also over done but at least the pico and lettuce on them looked really fresh. Owner said they’ll be closing soon, sad to see someone so nice put out but the food just doesn’t compare in taste or portion, I paid almost $ 9 for that. I wont be back :/

This is sad. I used to love this place. The food WAS awesome and the staff WAS friendly. It was our«go to» street taco joint. But, as with most things here in America, greed and laziness has taken over. For starters, the menu has changed and the prices are higher. No biggie if the food is good, right? WRONG!!! The food now suffers. As a matter of fact, calling it «food» is stretching it. Secondly, the young«lady» at the counter greeted us with a friendly«what do you want?» and dare I say, had mastered the art of being an insolent bitch. I politely shrugged it off(not easy at all for me) thinking she was just having a bad day. After all, my experiences with this place have been very positive up to this point. I wasn’t going to let one experience ruin it for me. Then the food came. I wouldn’t have fed this swill to an absolute enemy! The pork on my carnitas tacos was burnt to crispy, crunchy imperfection. The corn tortillas were gummy and the cilantro was wilted and brown. There were crusty clots of burnt nastiness in my pintos and my arm stuck to the table because it hadn’t been wiped down since, I fear, my last visit months ago. That’s not the worst of it. This is a tiny little restaurant, so you’d think cleanliness would be a relatively easy thing to keep up on. I mean, it’s not like they have an entire cafeteria and expanded kitchen to clean. NOPE! Filthy. The whole place was absolutely FILTHY! The trash was overflowing, the soda machine was sticky and the«fixins bar» looked like Baby Huey frolicked in it wearing muddy boots and a shitty diaper. But, NOTHING could prepare me for the horrors that lurked in the restroom. Honest to God, I dry heaved when I opened the door! I’ve seen urine soaked, gas station bathrooms with better ambiance and atmosphere. I have to ask you all a question. When the state mandated sign that says«Employee’s MUST wash hands before returning to work» is directly over an empty(not merely empty but bone dry) soap dispenser, how do these employees wash their hands? Yeah, let your imagination go with that one and you won’t eat for a week! FORTHELOVEOFGOD, AVOIDTHISPLACELIKETHEPLAGUE!!! I would ABSOLUTELY support legislation to not only have this place shut down, but for the premises to be raised, sanitized and have the soil steam cleaned. Yeah, it was THATBAD!

The tacos here are so good! Little bummed they were out of guacamole at 2 pm in the afternoon but otherwise good food.

Ick… not too sure how there are great reviews on this spot. It sucks… my chicken, well… let’s just say I’ve had better cuts at crappy Chinese joints. Two completely inedible«pollo asado» tacos with white as a ghost soggy iceberg lettuce on them… no cilantro, no onions, just crap… I would have even maybe gave a pass if they used cabbage… nope, not the case here pals. They are cutting back on dollars by giving out paper thimble sized ketchup cups to put your salsa in too. Oh and the fish taco… oh the«fish» taco… just a bunch of breading… I don’t think there was any fish… Do yourself a favor… eat roadkill before this stuff.

Another disappointing taco lunch venture in lovely Temecula. Al pastor = overcooked. DRY. Lengua = aitttteee. Probably the better of the 3 tacos I got. Carne asada = bland. Rice and beans were on point though. Not coming here again either.

In reading the mixed reviews and knowing someone who eats here a couple times a week, I decided to give them a try. So many raved about the carne asada and/or the surf & turf burrito, so I opted for the surf & turf with NO pico de gallo(I do not eat raw onions and I don’t like cilantro, which i fully explained to the the nice young lady taking my order AND the cook). I also ordered 3 of their $.99 tacos to try their other meats(pollo asada, carnitas and al pastor). When I got home I cut a piece of the decent sized burrito off and tried all of the tacos. The carnitas was the best if them, a little dry, but not fatty or tough. The pollo was ok, I’m just not a fan of weird knuckle things in my pollo taco. The al pastor is really sweet, I mean like BBQ sauce sweet, mellowed it out with lots of lime & green salsa. Now the burrito, I was so disappointed… The carne asada was about 75% fat, and that is not an exaggeration, didn’t find, but maybe 2 whole shrimp, mostly just the tail end parts… Which tend to be less juicy. And the sauce they use taste like liquified cilantro and spices. So after removing the fatty meat I was left with dry shrimp tails and wilted cabbage slopped with cilantro sauce — thanks, but no thanks.

Um yeah, this tasted more like«Los Perdedores». After waiting for our car to be done at the DCH across the street, my hubby and I decided to get a quick bite to eat. Korean BBQ tacks on a gratuity fee and the«all-you-can-eat» sushi place had all of these rules(can only eat one serving of this type of sushi, this one is not part of our deal, rice is extra) that we figured we’d give this place a try. I should have just starved. For $ 7.99 we got a three taco place that included a drink and a side of spanish rice and refried beans. Although their tomatillo salsa was on point and their combo meal included«aguas frescas», their rice was way too greasy and flavorless to boot. The beans tasted stale and even though the tacos were okay, it wasn’t enough for me to want to come back. It’s hard to understand how this place could get more than 2 stars. Did we have the pleasure of going to Taqueria Los Campeones on an off day?

It’s still a 4 Star place. Good food, good service, cute clerk. And best of all cheap prices. I ordered the 2 al pastor tacos and 1 asada taco. Both of them where good as always. Like I’ve said earlier about this place, it’s pretty good better then most in the area, but it’s a longways from LA tacos. Maybe the in the top 5 in the Temecula area. Al Pastor Taco, was cooked good not just chunks of meat but also strips.(that’s always a plus) they were a little to sweet, onions, cilantro 2 greasy corn tortillas. Carne Asada Taco, always good, with great flavor, cooked to the point with onions, cilantro with the same tortilla. You do get your food served nice and warm, it’s nevers been cold. The fish tacos are awesome. Best item on the menu. Eat 6, 3 tacos, soda $ 5.43 worth every Penny

Did I go to the same place as everyone else? I had fish tacos and they were really terrible. Instead of a flaky white fish, it was thin strips of what I think was tilapia. Soggy batter.. .Had a «not fresh» quality to it. Watery cabbage mingling with the sauce so it dripped everywhere when you try to take a bite. I’ve had a lot of fish tacos and this was one of the worst. Perhaps their non-fish offerings are okay — that’s all I tried. So I suppose give them a chance if you aren’t a fish taco person.

Good place, hard to find on Unilocal for some reason??? Anyways, I had a cali burrito and it was good but a little small. Taste of the meat was like you bbq’d the carne at home, good. Will be back when in the area.

I never would have found this place had it not been for Unilocal,WHY?, I’m rarely in Temecula and where Taqueria Los Campeones is located in a strip plaza I would not have gone to this location on my own. But glad theirs Unilocal because I found a gem of a taco spot that to me was hidden since I’m not familiar with the area, they have a nice menu selection of items and verity of meats, although they’ve only been in business a couple of years the only unfortunate thing about this place is the menu is slightly outdated, as there is several items and or meats advertised that they no longer carry due to lack of sales and that’s unfortunate since what I did have was very good. Tacos — Extra credit for the wonderful Yellow Corn tortillas. Taco de Al Pastor — This was wonderfully cooked. flavorful and delicious I didn’t even miss the pineapple 5-Stars Taco de Carnitas — Mmm more good pig, not the best I’ve had but still real good. 4.5-Stars Taco de Carne Asada — Although it was a little fatty, it wasn’t overly fatty, was cooked nicely and had good flavor. 4.5-Stars Taco de Buche/Dorado — Nice crispy crunchy pieces of goodness. 4.5-Stars They have a great salsa bar I tried three different salsa’s, Red and Green both were good but the Orange/Red I thought was the spiciest and best flavor The food was that good I ordered some tortas to-go… Torta de Carne Asada — The pan Telera was nice and soft, layered with beans, plenty of meat, onion, lettuce, tomato and avocado although very good I think meat was cooked better and longer on my tacos. 4-Stars Torta de Al Pastor — Same ingredients as above torta with the exception of meat, I also thought they cooked the meat less on the torta than the taco Al Pastor, though it was still good 4-Stars AVG4.5-Stars

AWESOME mexican food! They have a wide variety to choose from but I think their street tacos are the specialty. Ask for the 5 for 5 special — Carnitas or Al Pastor. Their carnitas are my ABSOLUTE favorite. I also like to get the wet style carnitas burrito. The owners are wonderful people — Rocio REALLY cares about your dining experience. It’s reflected in the quality of the food, especially the meat. Not the cheap stuff. I used to eat there at least twice a week but unfortunately my office moved from Temecula to Murrieta so now I don’t get to go as often. :( If you’re ever nearby you should definitely check it out. Once you try it you’ll be hooked. It’s a hidden gem… look for it behind the Nissan dealership, between the liquor store & drycleaners.

I live in Orange County, and I thought the best Mexican food was found here, but I was wrong! The ingredients are fresh and tasty, and the salsas are homemade. The tacos el carbon are the best I’ve ever tasted. The portions are generous and they always greet you a smile. If you’re in the area, check it out!

I found this place right of the freeway and decided to try my luck. I plesantly surprized. The food and atmosphere was great. I tried their dish called«Alambres» and it was delious. Free refills on ohchata and I just had write about this spot. I met the owner and he told me they had just open a few months ago. So if you looking for new and better mexican place this is it.
