Taste: 4 stars Their jerky was moist and tender, and the flavors were pretty good although not the best I’ve had. The meat quality was good and the method of preparation was done really well that it didn’t even taste like jerky but a piece of dried fillet! The seasonings were not bad. The teriyaki was a bit flat and the pepper was on the salty side. Our fav out of the 3 was the sweet and spicy. The flavor had more depth to it. Price 2 stars: Price was ridiculous. $ 6 for a 2 oz piece of meat. That means it’s $ 48/lb when you think about it. That’s the price of a really nice piece of sashimi-grade tuna belly. I’d pay this for a piece of fish but not for beef jerky. Service 3 stars: When we walked in, the guy didn’t come out from his counter to greet us or show us the different products that they have. He didn’t seem to be enthusiastic either. I was glad at least he let me know about the $ 15 for 3 flavors deal before I paid, so I went to grab another 2 flavors to try. The beef jerky was delicious and we finished it quickly but it’s not great enough to keep us coming back.

A bit of a disappointment. Had I not heard of house of jerky before I probably would have walked out, the couple working owned the store it seemed, had an adorable son, but had zero desire to be there or be nice to customers. Their jerky is expensive, you would think they would want to give suggestion or samples to sell some but instead they might as well have a big sign saying get out now. We ended up buying a few reigns but overall, they were not friendly or customer oriented.

I love this place and man the jerky is delicious! I came in and met the owner Chris. He’s very nice and knew the product very well. I really enjoyed talking to him about all the different jerky and how they got their meat for their product. Chris was kind and really down to earth. I ended up getting the sweet and spicy turkey jerky and the teriyaki beef jerky. I love them both! Better than some of the other jerkys that you would find out there. I love the flavors. So delicious!

I’m assuming they changed their name from house of jerky to Front St. jerky. Nothing but the same prepackage garbage you can get at 7 – 11. If you want to buy a souvenir fishing T-shirt you’re in luck.

This place used to have the best jerky, vacuum sealed, wet and sticky soft jerky. Now it is non vacuum sealed, dry salty, and the lady that worked there was extremely rude. I asked three times what happened to the original jerky, and instead of easily answering, she just said«this is what we got. This is better» in a rude tone. I work with costumers and know when someone is being rude, condescending and hates their job.

Best jerky! We always stop in and stock up when we go to Temecula! The sweet and spicy is my favorite! Ask for a taste if you’re curious, they’ve got them behind the counter!

I should have bought the Brisket Teriyaki Jerky like I wanted to, but I am a little cheap when it comes to trying food for the first time. I ended up settling for the Turkey Teriyaki Jerky, which was very good.

This is a pretty cool little place with a lot of different jerky flavors. I bought a pack of the Black pepper beef jerky and it was probably the best beef jerky ive ever had. Ive always enjoyed jerky and tried dozens of different brands from the crappy Oh Boy! Oberto jerky to more premium brands and homemade styles. The black peppered beef here tops them all.

I tried jerky that I wouldn’t have thought to try-Alligator! It had a gamey taste then an emotion of aggression. So strange. I bought the jalapeño jerky and a few packs for gifts. The owner’s sister was there the day I went. She was really fun and easy going. They had an assortement pack for $ 20 with kangaroo! I didn’t get it, have to draw the line somewhere. Their peppered buffalo is amazing! I’m hiding the jerky I bought for myself and not sharing it with anyone. lol!

If you like jerky, this place should make you happy. I am not much of a jerky fan, but I was curious. I inquired about Salmon Jerky. They didn’t have it, but I was informed they had boar, buffalo, ostrich, turkey, etc. The owner was very nice and friendly and offered me several samples of different jerkys. After she said I resembled Eva Longoria, I felt I HAD to buy something! It’s probably her marketing ploy! I opted for the buffalo and the turkey. I am not a jerky expert by any means and usually avoid the chewy stuff, but my jerky loving friends all seemed to enjoy it. I liked the turkey jerky over the buffalo. They also have some variety sampler packs with all the different animals/flavors. Pack it up with some good quality beer and probably make a great gift for the sportsman you know that already has everything.

Stopped in here during an extremely rainy day in December of 2010. The selection was something I’d never seen before in Jerky. .. Kangaroo Jerky? Ostrich Jerky? Phesant Jerky? Crocodile Jerky? Cool! The customer service was excellent and they were willing to provide samples of whatever we wanted. Ended up walking out with a couple of different varieties of turkey jerky and a $ 20 sampler with all different kinds(including the ones mentioned above) I’d recommend stopping in and checking it out. .. If you’re not a vegetarian of course.

I’m being slightly generous with my review because I was pampered by friendly folks of Temecula today. I started my day picking blueberries, followed by wine tasting at one of the wineries. Sole purpose of coming to Old Town Temecula was to buy some exotic jerkys for«I’ve tried that» factor. But this place some what let me down. The Temecula Olive Oil Company next door was much friendlier than this place. But I ended up buying 10 jerky pack that included Venison jerky, Ostrich jerky, Kangaroo jerky, Gator jerky(2 variations), Bison jerky, Wild Boar jerky, Pheasant jerky, Antelope jerky and Elk jerky. Ok, they all sound exotic and good but when I looked at the ingredients, they all contain beef. I’ve tried fried Gator nuggets at Gatorland in Florida so I know what Gators taste like but the gator jerky I tried tasted no different from any other beef jerky. I didn’t quite taste the gator. Elk jerky had some elk like taste(I’ve tried elk jerky while I was in Yellowstone). For all the jerkys came out to less than 20 bucks. I have some thing to munch on while enjoying my ice cold beer. :-)

These people were really cool. After they read my review they actually contacted me and sent me some samples of their more exotic jerkys. I though that was excellent customer service. Yes it’s pricey, but it’s tasty. Plus you shouldn’t be gorging yourself on it anyway. It should be enjoyed in smaller quantities while you’re drinking your beer or whatever.
