White Oak Tree Care

I have never written a Unilocal post experience, but this one I felt compelled to due to the poor service! It may be long but worth reading if you are considering them.
I hired Matt at White Oak Tree Care to remove 9 foxtail bushes. While he did get them out, I have be en extremely displeased with the follow up customer service. During the time of service Matt said that he hit a sprinkler line and would repair. Since I am not home during the time my sprinklers run, it wasn’t until a week later on Saturday that I realized he had hit 2 other lines of PVC pipe (about 4 – 5 inches in length). These lines are directly underneath one of the bushes he removed, however he claims that he didn’t cut it with the stump grinder.
He asked that I take a picture and send to him, which I did. His first response was that he shouldn’t be responsible for lines that he believes were installed to close to the top. Then after a couple other texts, he went silent in his response. I had to follow up with him the next day only to have him tell me a LIE!!!
I asked him if he plans to fix the line and his response was that he replaced the one line he hit… and here it comes… that he tested all the sprinklers and they worked fine before he left. When I responded that there is NO way he could have tested the lines since he did not have access to the sprinkler panel… his response was not to tell me how he was able to test the sprinklers (and prove me wrong) or find ways to work with me, rather he sent a text that said any public claims would be addressed by his lawyers who at minimum would seek restitution of legal fees.
BTW, I had a company take a look at the overall damage that was done and besides the PVC pipe cut, referenced above, there were also 3 sprinkler heads damaged that required replacement. Of course, if he had tested all the sprinklers, he would have noticed this. I just can’t get over being LIED to by someone who’s runs a service company and ultimately should have more regard for customer satisfaction.
I would NEVER use his company again, would NEVER refer anyone.
There were a number of red flags during my experience that leads to this bad review. The poor follow up, lack of accountability (even when proof), and worst off… the LIE!

I found him online and am glad I did. Matthew did an extraordinary job! It took them about two hours to tackle two overgrown front yard trees. My son watched through the front window the whole time… I caught some glimpses of them in action from time to time and could tell Matthew is very serious about his work and extremely calculated with each cut. Definitely NOT a hack job tree trimmer. My trees have never looked so good and yours can too if you call him! (If you see this Matt, thanks again for a great job!) –Joe

I tried to contract White oak to come have 3 trees trimmed down. I sent him pictures he quoted me a price which was way higher than the other bids I got. He says he will beat anyones price. I told him what everyone else was at and he re quoted to get the business. I gave them the Job because he was the only one to follow up if I needed the work done. We scheduled on a Tuesday to show up on a Friday between 8 – 10 AM. Got a call at 10 he was not going to make it because his AC went out and he would be there on Saturday at 8 AM. Saturday came around no call at all. I text him to see if he was coming and he said «NO I’m canceling». NO REASON NO CALL No NOTHING.
I would not recommend this company at all. He is the first to bag on the Non insured the non licensed companies out there. Bad Business Bad Follow through gets a Bad Review.

Matthew was great from the start. I knew I needed my trees trimmed and even got the phone numbers of a couple people I saw around the neighborhood and had flake after flake. I found Matthew’s info online and emailed him asking if he could get me a quote and he was able to THE SAME DAY for free! He told me what needed to get done and how he was going to do it!
Matthew was very quick with emails and text messages. We ended up having a small schedule setback and he was able to work around it beautifully… he got to me within the next week! The work he did was great and he worked around my schedule and my husband’s weirdness of not wanting to talk to anybody :)
The work Matthew did was great and clean up was perfect. Nothing went wrong (I can’t usually say that). I will be using White Oak Tree Care for all my tree trimming needs and have already recommended them to my boss and others. It’s hard finding good, knowledgeable, hard working people but I lucked out with them!
