Albertsons

We have been shopping at Albertson’s for years. We were very disappointed when they replaced Albertson’s brand with Safeway’s. We don’t like Safeway frozen vegetables nor their milk. Safeway’s frozen corn tastes gross. I’ve never seen anyone mess up frozen corn before.
We used to like Al’s produce as well, but we could tell when something changed in produce.
We have been spending a lot less time and money at Al’s since they changed. We didn’t like Safeway before the merger. And we think even less of Safeway since we got a taste of their brand. It’s too bad.

My family has been shopping at this Albertsons for many years. Unfortunately, this morning my parents had a very bad customer service experience with a disheveled looking manager. This stems from a simple question/​request that was directed towards the manager. The manager responded in a very rude and annoyed manner for no apparent reason. This is very unfortunate because my folks actually just had a decent experience with the butcher in the meat department. I have personally noticed that their customer experience has gone down hill over the years. My families dollars will not be spent at this Ablertsons again. I will also recommend others in the community to go elsewhere. It’s to bad, what I have read about the Albertons organization and mission is not being reflected by their management. The culture has taken some big hits over the years…

I love this place as it is now. The Butcher is always fantastic. There’s always good deals in the butcher department, and they’re always extremely helpful.
I actually drive 15 miles to come here due to both deals and service. I can come by every couple of months, stock up my freezer and get great deals!

I ordered a cake for my sons birthday and it came out purple… The cake decorator said it was th same and the color was blue– purple. Not its just purple. Ridiculous.

Don’t ever order a cake from the Albertson’s on Rural & Guadalupe online!
I ordered it on Monday, got a confirmation email. Went to pick it up and they blamed me for not calling to check if they got the order!
I waited for it, it looked gaudy, but bought it anyway. Opened it in the car to take a 2^nd look and they had one of the sides of the box stuck in the side of the cake! Yikes!!!

I actually really like this location because it is never busy AT ALL. I like that I can find items that Fry’s does not carry. Things like fresh wheatgrass, and a wide variety of vegetarian items. They also got a new Starbucks in their location, and they have a hot wing bar. Did you know the most ordered take-​out item in America is chicken wings? Think about it.

We happened to be traveling and wound up here looking to stock up before heading to our weekend rental. What a great store this is, great lay out, easy to find items and super friendly staff. Our first visit there and we felt like home.

When is Albertsons moving in to Safeway? I actually like this place a bit better.
I like the croissants, the meats, the butcher will order bones for my puppers, cashiers are alright too. It’s the floor help or the baggers that sometimes make me bonkers. Go to the restroom and they take your shopping cat let and put the things back where they came from.
I put time and effort into my selections and now I’ve gotta do it again.

Needs remodeled and a better selection; however it might be appropriate for the demographics. It is my neighborhood grocery because it’s so close.

I cannot believe I let a sale on milk lure me into this dirty store again. To prove that I’m not exaggerating the filth of this store, I took photos. Do you really want to eat anything that comes out of a case that is so incredibly gross? I have no words to describe how grossed out I am after looking at the meat department. I looked because I was curious to know if they had solved the problems at the store. I’m so repulsed, I wish that I didn’t look!
I stand by my previous comment… I would rather shop at Walmart than at Albertsons. Big fat fail!

This is one of the worst run grocery stores in town. They got rid of the self checkout option, so now their check out is soooo slow. It takes forever, and there is at most one or two lanes open. They seem totally oblivious to this. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve come here on my lunch break to buy something to eat, and ended up throwing it back on the shelf because the checkout was too long of a wait. If you just need to buy like one thing you always get stuck behind someone buying a ton of groceries. Often the express line is closed. To make matters worse, the person who bags the groceries always has to comment on nearly every item you’re buying, «oh are you getting this because you have an ear infection.» I can’t imagine this would be a good place if you had to buy personal items. No respect for privacy.
If you want to see how a checkout system should be run, I’d recommend you go to the Fry’s on 20^th st. and Camelback, which has 20 times the amount of shoppers, but never a wait.
The only reason I even give this Albertsons 2 stars, is because of the Starbucks within the store, where the service and employees are terrific.

On the plus side, Albertsons has done away the loathsome discount cards.
On the minus side, I normally shop early in the day to beat the 110+ temps in the summer. I am there when they open at 6am. Unfortunately, the deli, pharmacy and other services are not open. Sometimes I would like to pick up some fried chicken while I am there but again the deli is closed. One Sunday evening my husband suggested we go over in the evening after the 110+ temps has cooled off a little to get some sliced cheeses, turkey slices, etc. We go to the deli counter at 8:37pm and were told that the meat and cheese slicers had already been «disinfected» and they could not cut any meat and cheese.
Soooo, it doesn’t matter if you go early or come late to beat the heat, you will not be able to use the deli – so why bother going at all?

I have always had a fondness for this particular store. I am not sure why, but maybe because you can grab a starbucks prior to commencing your shopping activities?
Makes a difference I suppose. I seem to keep going there. And not having to keep a «frequent shopper» card helps too.
It’s never that crowded, it is always subdued and it is very convenient. I suppose that is all you need for a shopping trip. That and a cup of Joe.
