Challenge

We were surprised to find this gem in North Tempe, a few miles from our house. I took my nine year old boy there for some batting practice and was impressed — we had fun! Great facility, anything comparable is a bit further away and not as nice/​friendly. We’ve been back a few times now and have started lessons. Definitely recommended, the owners know what they’re doing and the location is very convenient.

I have neglected writing this review for several months, but thought it might help to give a different perspective on this place. I travel to Phoenix frequently for work, and I was looking for a place to do some batting practice. I play on a recreational slow-​pitch team, and I’m just «okay» at it. Since i don’t live in the area, I was only interested in hitting some balls — not lessons. Therefore, I can’t speak to the quality of instruction, and my rating should be taken accordingly.
The place was not what I expected. It was essentially a warehouse that has been converted with nets to be the home of a bunch of baseball-​launching machines. They let me wander around inside to check the place out before I did some batting. There were a bunch of girls from a softball team there, which was awesome because I learned a bit by observing them. The machines were automated pitching machines that you can attaché feeders to. I used one with an automatic feeder.
Overall, I had a positive experience. I don’t remember the price I paid, but remember thinking it was reasonable. The owners were very nice to me, so I was surprised to read other reviews that cast them in a negative light. At the time, they had just bought the place, so maybe the pressures of owning a business are getting to them. At any rate, I felt like I got what i came for: some batting practice. I’ll go back when I need more.

Was a little skeptical when my husband wanted to take our daughter there for lessons, but have seen her get stronger and she hit her first homerun after a couple of months with Jonny. The video aspects being able to upload her actual at bats and have them reviewed is a great plus. Would highly recommend for lessons and for the batting cage use as well.
