A great place to live. Any time we needed maintenance it was done within a couple hours of calling. The receptionist that usually works in the office is very friendly and helpful, you can pay your rent with a debit card at the office, the pools are always super clean and the neighbors keep to themselves or are friendly. The only downside to this place was that they’re right by McClintock with no gate and the bike room in the complex was broken into several times and my bike was stolen. Also the pool keys they give you don’t work very well, I’ve had to jump the fence a few times. The walls in the apartments are very thin too so if you live with someone you can hear everything they do… I know this place got new management a few months before I moved out so I can’t say much about them but while I was here I really enjoyed it. Would have renewed my lease but I wanted to get a house!

I was a resident at cabana for 6 months I moved in with my best friend at the time and I thought cabana was a super cute complex I loved the style I viewed the 2 bedroom and thought it was a super cute layout. Out apartment was ready fast and when we moved in and checked everything out it seemed fine until we realized how somethings were half assed like the bathroom was super dirty, one of the bedroom doors was broken my closet door was broken the toilet was also broken I called the maintenance guy he came the day after and fixed some thing most things I had to fix myself. Other then that they have a quarterly check up where their supposed to change the air filter because it gets really dirty and they did the bottom floor but didn’t bother to change the 2nd story apartments. Our plumbing was always messing up stuff in the dish disposal coming up through the shower drain our shower head broke after 2 months there. There was always drunk teens at the pool being very loud at 3am even though the pool closes at 10pm and always a passed out drug addict with their needle and spoon in the walk ways, our car got broken into everything stole out of it, they say they have night security that circles the apartment at night not once in all my 6 months there did I see a security guard circling anything, there was a lot of pot smoking on the stairs. The pool always looked dirty and when trees would fall over from the storm it took longer then 2 weeks for them to be cleaned up. The only thing that I did enjoy was the administration receptionist jazmeen she was always trying her best the other girl there is very very UNPLESANT and not helpful in anyway she makes you feel dumb or horrible for even asking for anything from her. Plus maintenance will come into your house without knocking so beware of that other then that price is reasonable and if you”re young and want don’t mind things like that you’ll enjoy this place but families wouldn’t be ideal for this environment.

Dear Potential Resident, I hope that you read this before considering leasing or renting here as I think that some valuable insight from a current resident will help. It would be folly to move into these apartments at this point, there are a plethora of incredible complexes mere moments away, and for all the ‘charm’ this place has it is face value only and quickly diminishes the second you move in. Let me preface this by saying that this complex has extreme potential to be excellent if some key issues get taken care of(mostly an unresponsive management team that thinks they are still in high school), and I will modify my review accordingly if I can get the manager to get anything fixed. I moved in several months ago, and upon moving in I have never been so surprised and appalled in my entire life. The apartment clearly had not been cleaned since the prior residents; mold in the bathroom, urine all around(and in the toilet) floors peeling up(cheap laminate not hardwood that literally come up a bit more every time I clean them) black stains on the wall, and clearly someone had been smoking several packs a day inside the apartment. This wasn’t initially a huge issue as I figured that since it was filthy upon moving in and in a great state of disrepair I wouldn’t be charged moving out(that remains to be seen). Here are a small selection of issues I have had since moving in; Burglary my first week here… easy to get in an out of(several neighbors(five?) have had break ins since we’ve been here… this is a transient type community and the proximity to Apache makes us a very easy target)…you would think they would ramp up the security but I have yet to see the supposed security guard they employ even one time in four months despite several requests for even a phone number to call… shady. Lots of drugs and shady individuals live here but that’s probably anywhere, we have excellent immediate neighbors(fortunately) and their seems to be a real mix… regardless I don’t feel safe having my girlfriend or sister walking alone at night. Waited over a month to have the ducts and vents cleaned(black soot would spew out anytime the air was on covering all of my earthly possessions in dust and grime) some of the smell has gone away but not really still smells disgusting at all times. Mold and mildew run rampant in the bathroom I have to bleach the walls almost daily to fight it and if I don’t they are yellow and black not to mention most of the laminate is peeling and roaches and ants occasionally escape from the cracks between the tub. All in all I could probably keep going… the kitchen is nice, and I do like the styling of the community and surprisingly the common areas tend to stay fairly clean. but I really think you have a major break down in communication from resident to manager to management company and things(lots of them) are slipping through the cracks. Until they re-staff I would continue looking elsewhere I have a friend at Cabana on Thomas and this is not the case with that community at all…
