I spend a ridiculous amount of money here. Well, other people’s money, really. Since I asked for gift cards to Pier One as wedding and housewarming gifts, my wife and I have outfitted half our home here. And how! The staff at this location in particular is always obliging, polite, and extremely helpful. I never have to wander around lost and hapless looking for someone to help me like I do in cavernous big box stores. Everyone knows the stock, and everyone knows who to grab if they don’t know how to handle my inquiries. It’s a perfect shopping experience, and they even let you pull your car up to the front and load stuff in. Some of my best and most prized décor items I’ve gotten at this location. We picked up this stellar 16-bottle wine rack for $ 150($ 50 off) that perfectly matches all of our other wrought iron décor items. Plus it gives us an excuse to buy even more wine(not like we need it). I have a set of decorative mirrors that remain, to this day, the only thing I can feasibly put above the stairs(other than personal pictures) in our condo, which has an odd layout that really prohibits traditional décor. I also have a set of these adorable blue lanterns that look fantastic hanging above my divider wall in our master bedroom(I told you our layout was weird). Most of all, I was looking for years for a proper hammered silver floor vase. It sounds silly, but maybe you other décor-hungry people can relate. I needed something that was just the right size, just the right style, and big and unbreakable enough that I wouldn’t worry that my nieces and nephews and skittish cat could break it. Nothing ever sufficed, and what may have worked was always upwards of $ 500. I found the perfect silver vase here, and it even had these gorgeous hammer floral patterns that I’ve yet to see anywhere else. It’s about 3 ½ feet tall, and I paid less than $ 100 for it(it was on sale, they have frequent 25−50% sales here). I’ve received so many complements on it, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a fantastic price for a fantastic item. Everything I’ve bought here is just as sturdy as stuff I’d get at Pottery Barn or Ethan Allen for five times the price. Sure, it’s not as cheap as Ikea, but you can’t beat the service and selection and quality at a big box store that you find here. Also, this remains one of the few stores in the Valley for décor that doesn’t have everything in increasingly boring shades of brown and beige. I decorate in a lot of silvers and blues(occasionally throwing in some bright red and deep black), and it’s a devil and a half to find stores that aren’t allergic to color. Pier One’s always got my back when it comes to interesting and colorful décor pieces. I know I can always come in and spend lots and lots of money here, because I pretty much want everything.

What a great home furnishing store! They sell lots of lively, cheery, yet sophisticated/contemporary home furnishings and accessories. I love the jewel-toned mosaic tables and fluffy accent pillows here. They are also one of the few stores I’ve seen that sell double papasan chairs(If you’ve never tried one, go here. They are so comfy!) On my most recent trip, I took home an adorable owl door mat. Just what we needed for our new home. :)

Beautiful stuff in here, less little miscellaneous items than its next door neighbor, World Market, more furniture and housewares. If I don’t get in here very often, Xmas is the time to come. I was just going to look around but ended up buying several of their fragrance beads on sale, and a couple of small versions of the infusion incense sticks in peppermint and gingerbread. Some will be gifts and a couple for me. That’s how I shop.
