One of the academically top rated schools in the state. My grandson attends kindergarten at this school and was reading by the end of the first semester, could count to 50 and add and subtract single digit numbers, and identify the USA and AZ on a map, knew the name of the planets, AND LOVED learning. He looks forward to going to this school every day and cried the day he was too sick to go to school.
Yes, the students wear uniforms. Yes, the day is slightly longer. Yes, behavioral standards are rigorously enforced. YES, PARENTS CAMP OUT OVERNIGHT TO ENROLL THEIR CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL.
The good news is the Tempe Elementary School district is planning on expanding this school by keeping grades K-​5 on this campus and moving grades 6 – 8 to one of the regular schools they had to close last spring due to low enrollment. This will allow expansion of all 8 grades of Ward Traditional Academy. No tuition since it is a public school.
