My fiancé and I had had a great experience here! We ordered the gumbo, the crawfish etouffe, a combo basket, and hushpuppies. The hush puppies were alright but everything else was incredible. The prices are a little high but, I’m definitely coming back here!

Very clean restaurant our waitress was very nice, well the whole staff for that matter. It’s a very cute place with a very chill vibe. The food was good, although I’ve had better Phở in other places. Not a very big variety of dishes, but over all it’s pretty good, BTW their cajun fries are delicious

Disappointing. That’s the best word to describe Cajun Invasion. As a native Louisianian, I really appreciate good Creole and Cajun food, which is hard to find in central Texas. We stopped by because we saw the sign for boiled crawfish. We even asked our server If the crawfish were boiled in spices or had spice dumped on them after boiling(protip: crawfish should be boiled in crab/seafood boil; there is no reason to dump extra pepper on them afterwards). He assured us they were boiled in spicy water rather than being covered in spices afterward. When the crawfish arrived they were covered in a thick red«sauce» that was fiery hot, but the crawfish themselves were bland. Also, there were big chunks of potato(bland) and corn(also bland), which are normal, but also for some reason celery chunks, which are not normal. There were three people in our party, two of whom ordered two pounds and one of whom ordered three pounds. When the crawfish arrived it was in two large plastic bags with equal amounts of crawfish in each one. «There are seven pounds here,» our server informed us. Okay … how hard would it be to split the order the way we ordered it? The crawfish were overcooked and very hard to remove from the shell. Since there was no spice boiled into the crawfish themselves, sucking the heads was pointless. I ate about a half pound and gave up. They weren’t worth the effort. I eventually ordered an oyster po-boy which was actually quite good. I’d go back for the po-boy(oyster po-boys are impossible to find around here, even at supposedly«Cajun» places). We ordered the Creole Crab Cakes as an appetizer. They were good, but there was nothing«Creole» about them. Two stars. It would be one, but the po-boy was worth an extra star. I’d like to say this is a great place for Louisiana food in Texas, but it just isn’t.

My friend and I wanted to try something different so we decided to try out this place. The restaurant was clean and our waiter was excellent. He continued to come to our table to check on us and refill our drinks. I ordered the Cajun wings and my friend ordered the Korean ribs. The only problem I would say was the restaurant owner had a child who continued to run around the restaurant which was a distraction to us. It felt like a daycare center more than a restaurant. He climbed into the booth behind us and started to try and climb on the wall, jumping and stomped around everywhere. Other than that everything else was great.

Very slow. We came on Sunday afternoon. Four people ordering pretty normal stuff. Took an hour to get food. We ordered two of the same thing got charged the same amount and portions were noticeably different. This was my fourth time to go and it will be my last. The owner didn’t even offer to make it ri

Boyfriend and i came here for the first time and it was good. Crawfish was not spicy as we have asked but it was still ok. The crab legs though came out amazing. Used to drive to austin to go to la crawfish or Joe’s crab shack but now if i am craving for some crabs or crawfish, i won’t have to drive an hour away lol also ordered their korean bbq short ribs and it was really good! Service is great. We would definitely go back!

I stumbled on this establishment passing thru. Figured I’d try the crawfish since there’s absolutely NO good restaurants in the Killeen/Ft. Hood area that serves decent crawfish.(I’m from New Orleans, so obviously it’s always hard to find crawfish done right.) I try not to be too picky but this place was terrible. They offered two options of crawfish flavors(which should have been the first tall tale sign but I was giving them the benefit of doubt): Garlic, & Hot’n’Spicy. I only know crawfish cooked one way and that’s spicy, so the garlic option threw me for a loop. Needless to say I paid for them(reasonable price considering), and waited for them to bring them out. The waitress was VERY courteous(the only thing going for them is the customer service; definitely not the seafood)! Fast forward: crawfish comes out and its drowned in minced garlic. Upon seeing this travesty I make the waitress aware that I asked for Hot’n’Spicy, not garlic. So she kindly takes them to them back. *10 minutes later* She returns with what looks like the exact same crawfish that she first brought out.(At this point I’m super bothered and slightly, no very, disappointed) I kindly ask her why there’s garlic on them when I ordered Hot’n’Spicy. She says that’s how they cook them. *VERYDISAPPOINTEDNOW* Needless to say I figured I’d try them to not waste time and money but I definitely could only eat a couple. The garlic was so overpowering; crawfish were cooked decent but they should really reconsider the flavors… I didn’t try anything else there because the crawfish was… A buzz kill…

We were pretty hesitant to try this place out because of the bad reviews but decided to try it out anyway because we were craving Cajun. I am pleased to say everything was great! I can see where food could sometimes be bland or overcooked but that was not the case for our visit. The gumbo was good, gator and shrimp were good, Cajun fries were good, and the house sauce was awesome! My husband also got Phở and loved it. Beer was cheap and service was friendly. I’d definitely come back next time I’m craving some cajun and not wanting to drive a long ways!

This is the most horrible place I have been to in a long time. The service was okay but the food is terrible.

Girlfriend and I came here after church. It was a bit empty, but we were seated immediately. Food was slightly above average! She ordered the beef phở — which was pretty packed with MSG and but overall not too bad especially for being in Central Texas! I ordered the special wonton noodle soup with pork and actually really liked it. The soup and noodles were not too salty and the pork was tender and flavorful. My only request is to increase the number of wontons — I think I had 3 in my whole bowl… Service was decent! No troubles there. Will definitely return again to try other dishes.

My friend and I craved some Vietnamese phở for a long time. We drove down from Waco to get some since there isn’t really a good place in Waco for phở. The phở here was really good. It’s not like my mom’s or some of the best restaurants in Houston but it was soooooooo much better than the restaurant in Waco. I’m a really picky eater since nothing is better than mom’s cooking but this is enough to make me satisfied. It was flavorful and just the right amount of meat. The owners were so nice and accommodating. I will definitely come back for it and to try other stuff when I’m craving for Vietnamese comfort food.

The last time I went in, the waitress touched her hair a few times. Brushing it with her fingers and then served our food. While I enjoyed some of the food, there needs to be more training on sanitary. The dirty rice was bland but the grilled shrimp had an awesome flavor. It seems they are always out of the seafood I want as well :\ I’m hoping for it to be as good as the first time I went in.

My first visit was around the opening. The food was mediocre and the service was slow. I decided to give it another try as I had heard more positive reviews. However, when we got to the restaurant(12:30 on a Sunday afternoon), the restaurant was closed. Per their hours, they were supposed to open at 11:00. I’m not going to waste my time trying to eat here again.

This place needs a lot of work. I had the grilled shrimp. The shrimp was good, but the dirty rice had no flavor at all. We shared the shrimp boil. The shrimp were raw and had to be sent back. Then it was near impossible to peel them. The flavor was real good. Awesome actually. Just wish the rice had some flavor. We probably won’t come back. And, the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. Mold growing in the bowl, and the sink was so horrible looking I didn’t want to wash my hands.

Ordered boiled shrimp and crawfish… The shrimp was still raw when they brought it out so I sent it back. They just dumped it back into the boil and cooked it some more, when they brought it back it was so over cooked that we couldn’t even get the shells off. The crawfish had a disgusting flavor even thought it was supposed to be the same seasoning as the shrimp, they were over cooked as well and couldn’t get the shell off the tails. I would have to agree with other reviews and say the French fries were the best part of my meal. We won’t be back.

My husband and kids and I went there after church. The majority of us had crab and my husband had a shrimp Po-boy. The real award winner, though, was the shrimp appetizer. The sauce was terrific. I will be coming back and giving them another shot. We went there the first week they were open so I think they’re doing pretty good so far! I look forward to dining with them again soon!

The folks working there were nice enough but that’s about all I can say about the positive attributes of this resturant. The atmosphere was okay, not great. The food left a lot to be desired though. Our waitress that evening even stated the only way she could eat one of the dishes was to drown it in hot sauce. The restaurant in all was a swing and a miss. It tries to mimic the Vietnamese influence growing in NOLA, and falls short. I went once, wasn’t in the least impressed, and don’t plan to return.

45 minutes to get an order out. We, a party of two, were seated and ordered before two other tables(one, a party of seven and another, a party of four). Both parties received all their meals before us. We ordered the shrimp and crab boil. One was with house butter, which was very spicy, and the other was with garlic butter. We we inquired where our meal was and how the other parties were served first, the wait staff both blamed the cooks and said that they only had two boilers to work with(there were six tables in all occupying the restaurant that night). I believe the wait staff is responsible for checking and being out the food in a timely manner. The cook is has his responsibilities, that well get into in the next paragraph. But, yeah, wait staff and owner should have not thrown the cook under the bus. Peel and eat shrimp were overly cooked, hard to peel and rubbery. Blue crabs lacked little to no meat(we were able to scoop out less than a teaspoon of meat) because it had been incredibly over cooked. The usually yellow/mustard like hepatopancreas had turned a grayish brown an instantly oozed out as soon as the abdomin was carefully lifted and cracked open. The owner came to check on us and I informed him that there was hardly any meat in them. He said he would take care of it. Two 15% off coupons were given for our next visit and we were only charged $ 13.92 for both meals(both were $ 10.99 each before discount). I gave my coupons to the couple behind us, who had also been waiting more than 10 minutes for their drinks. I cannot stress how disappointed I was with this place. But then again, it’s Temple and if you and great seafood, go towards the coast.

Not sure why some of these people were upset with the service. Do they not realize everything is made fresh? I guess they want people to be served live crabs. As for the service… it’s a new restaurant. Its not perfect and I’m sure they’re still working on perfecting a working system. Be patient. Anyway, this place was awesome. We got the crawfish boil. It was our first time eating crawfish. And oh man! ITWASDELICIOUS! And I dislike any kind of fish/seafood(though this technically isn’t SEAfood. But you get me). So, with it being our first time eating crawfish… we didn’t know how to eat it. We asked a waiter how you eat them. And called over the owner(I believe), David. We let him have a crawfish and he kindly showed us how to eat one. That just shows how much they care about their customers. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable. But, I definitely recommend this place. Its definitely worth it all.
