The food is ok, I usually purchase the cheese enchiladas or steak fajita nachos. I wish they would work on their salsa, it sucks.

Well I suppose you get what you pay for here. The service was fantastic, so I do give them that. However. We ordered a side of queso dip as an appetizer. I honestly think it was ONLY velveeta cheese or some similar processed cheese food product. Tasted identical to it and hardened in like fashion as well. My fiancé ordered the ground beef tacos. They weren’t bad, but they really lacked in flavor. I ordered a steak tostada, which on the other hand, pretty good. Again, somewhat lacking in flavor but not as bad as the tacos.

I live close to this place an elect to drive 2x the distance to eat elsewhere. Today we went and ordered. The queso is bland. Sometimes that sells the place for me. I ordered tacos and found that I almost couldn’t taste the meat at all. The facility is great and the staff is very pleasant

This place is inconsistent at best, disgusting at worst. Save your money, eat anywhere else.

This place is just another Mexican restaurant in Temple tx.(There is practically one on every corner in town) There is nothing unique about this place. The food is ok with zero wow factor. They claim to have authentic Mexican food but it sure doesn’t look or taste like it. The atmosphere is strange and looks like they put little effort into the presentation. Dirty carpet, orange walls, and booth seats that look like some other restaurant got rid of. Also, when you walk up its hard to tell which door is the entrance as they have one for the restaurant side and one for the bar/daiquiri/Idon’tevenknow side. You cannot tell which is which from outside so just cross your fingers and pick one The only thing I like about this place is their menu has a picture of just about everything in it. Wish more places did that.

Authentic mexican food for not a lot of money. Our family loves this place. It’s nothing fancy but the staff makes up for that.

Another neighborhood convenient place to go with reasonable prices; but honestly it’s worth driving a few more miles further to get a little bit better food for the same price. The food is the standard fair for an average mexican restaurant.

Well. The tacos are good. The service and the coffee are mixed on being good as the server seemed annoyed and the coffee tasted burnt. Overall, good breakfast tacos!

Decent food in a location that’s probably not the best. Pretty typical of the plethora of small Mexican food restaurants in the area that all seem about the same, but this one is better than most.

I’m super picky about breakfast tacos and this place had really great ones. I used the drive thru and got excellent service. Definitely a place I will go again.

This place really confuses me… One time we go here, and it is really great. the next time it isn’t. I’ve been here probably 10 times.4 times it was super, 2 it was not real good, and the other 4 were what I say is pretty good. Service is excellent here, and the place is clean… guess my main issue is the inconsistant food quality.

This is a nice little mexican food place in Temple. Nothing too special about the food, its average if you ask me. They do have pretty decent/cheap food specials though. Everday they do have a special going on & once I got the fajita’s to share with my friend and niether one of us left hungry. The do have some very tasty queso, not too much of a fan of their salsa though. So overall, I’ve had better but this place is nice and convienently located by my job, LOL.

As far as Mexican food goes. The service is fair. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast tacos are good, but the sauce isn’t that great. The lunch and dinner is good. The portions are fair. Some things taste a little different then the norm, kinda you like it or you don’t.

Best Mexican food I have had in this area. It’s a new restaurant, so the building is clean. My fiancé and I come here at least once a week for dinner, lunch, or breakfast. Upon entering, you are seated. Then the chips and salsas come. The chips are nothing special, but the salsas are awesome. They serve you a cold salsa and a warm salsa. The warm salsa is very tasty with some spice, and the cold salsa is very spicy. The queso is also very good, some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant. You can also ask for meat in the queso, which makes for a good appetizer date. Between me and my fiancé, we have had numerous items on the menu. For lunch/dinner our favorites are the chimichangas, beef enchiladas, and the tacos al carbon. I’ve also had the big burrito, fajitas, and salad supreme. They were all very good. No matter what you get, I suggest ordering tortillas on the side. They are obviously homemade and delicious! For breakfast, our favorites are the Omelette with Everything, and the pork chop and eggs. They are delicious and every breakfast comes with tortillas. I also suggest asking for chips and salsas in the morning(it’s still free but you have to ask for it) because the salsas are fresh and so very very tasty. When you go, ask for Clarissa, she mostly work morning and noon shifts, but sometimes at night too. She is the best waitress we’ve ever had. She will treat you good and she’s very friendly and helpful. Also try the sweet tea, it’s my favorite, better than Bush’s.

Camino Real opened this past week(May 2010). Restaurant was clean and décor was nice and bright — not a typical Mexican restaurant. Food was average. Hot sauce was spicy and cold. My wife liked the sauce — I prefer a warm sauce. We both had the special, fajitas. There was a large amount of meat. They had a good taste. The tortillas were good. Not impressed with the chips — I think they were poured straight from a bag bought at the local supermarket. The charo beans were a disappointment. I believe that in a market with so many Mexican restaurants, one must differentiate themselves to be successful. I did not see that at Camino Real. We will try them again in a few weeks and see if anything changes for the better.
