I love this place. It is the most unique place around. It is like going to your grandma’s house for dinner. The minute you walk in the homey smells wafting from the kitchen snaps you back to a comfy place in your childhood. The wrap around porch greets you with a scattering of privately placed tables where you can dine or indoors you have a choice of what used to be a bedroom or two, a parlour, & a dining room! Which allows you privacy if you let them know ahead of time. And you must visit the restrooms when you are there! Complete with footed tub and doll in the tub to keep you company! They are open for lunch and at times are open for dinner but I would call first. And they have a great Sunday Brunch. Penny is the maker of the recipes and an expert in making a dish that will send you home craving it again. Her sandwich creations are the best! I met her years ago when she was putting up her Christmas tree after a day of cleaning up after her Thanksgiving feast! They were closed to decorate but she invited us in for a tour and it was a must try! The ambiance and the food made me fall in love with the whole package! The house used to be a Minister’s of the church up the street. It oozes charming history and you need to at least drive by to see it if you are in the area. Penneys is great for a lunch with your best friend… a group of women or a big party. She has seating in a charmingly manicured back yard complete with a backdrop for a small wedding and reception. She does a great job catering any kind of event and I know I have used her several times. Whatever the occassion, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
