Motel 6 Terre Haute

Booked on the phone for sixty, showed up and they wanted to charge seventy plus twenty for a pet. Wouldn’t even cancel in person, required us to call it in.

Decent place. Accepts pets, which for our cross country move was a must. We chose this particular place because it had a pool and allows pets. Pool was not in service when we arrived though. All the children in our crew were disappointed. Clean and had friendly workers. Would recommend at any time. Edit to say they had the most comfortable beds ever. When we got to our new home, we bought one similar. Also I saw no evidence of bugs or critters.

Do not come here unless absolutely necessary!
The blankets and sheets were dirty, the room smelled like cigarettes, and we found several cockroaches crawling near the fridge and TV (photos below). Overall the whole room needed a real cleaning, even the floor wasn’t swept.
The quality of the room is not worth it’s cheap price.

The location does NOT use the commonly seen Motel 6 wifi service (with XXXX-​XXXX sign on codes). Rather this locations uses their own Wifi system that has limited connections and poor service. On weekends and after 5 it kicks you off in the middle of what you were doing online. Not good at all.

This place is perfect for anyone who will be filming a raunchy porno. Especially since the sheets already have the stains from the last porn filmed there!
This place needs some serious renovation/​cleaning before it rises above dark adult film sets (even though I realize that it is a motel 6, my expectation was still higher than what we experienced)…but go see for yourself.
The people at the front desk are friendly though!

Stopped here because they are pet friendly. First room they gave us there were beer bottles laying around and the beds had been slept in. Next room the bedspreads were stained/​dirty, floors were concrete covered with tile-​cold to say the least. No toilet tissue or kleenex came with the room had to go ask for TP. Room felt like a meat locker, set temp to 78 and I’m sure it never got above 62, glad I had my winter coat to cover me up. We had stayed at a motel 6 in Iowa on our way to Nebraska and it was very nice so it had renewed my confidence with this chain until last nights stay. Probably won’t be patronizing this chain for quite some time!

No problems. One of the better Motel 6’s you’ll find. Place was clean, relatively safe (for someone not familiar with the area), cheap & takes pets.
Pros: Modern, Ikea-​style furnishing make you forget you’re in Motel 6, recent renovation means stuff is clean & works, location was easy to find, close to restaurants & freeway, pet-​friendly
Cons: Little road leading in is a little rough (physically & energetically)

Yes, the rooms have furnishings and linens that are updated in a modern style. I still though the bathroom was borderline, I figured I’d wait till getting home the next day to take my shower. It probably would’ve been fine, whatever.
We forgot to ask for a nonsmoking room, whoops. So, odor and a burn in the blanket were just part of the scenery. Didn’t feel that safe walking around at night, but this is a good location for proximity to the interstate (unless the noise will keep you up) and to many eateries.

Not fancy, didn’t want fancy. Cheap. Clean. Nice people. For about $ 50 I got a room with 2 queen beds and it was clean. No weird stains, no freaky bugs. Motel 6 has been re-​doing some of their hotels and this place is one of them. The décor is kind of cheesy, very mod-​contemporary, but at least they tried, you know? And at least everything was fresh and new, big plus. And I wanted to take the blanket home with me. SO cuddly.
OH and the people at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. When I got to my room, I found that someone hadn’t closed the door all the way, which skeeved me out, being a girl traveling alone, but the people at the desk were totally understanding and sweet about it and gave me a new room. The guy even said «don’t worry sweetheart, I’ll be looking out for you.» I’m not sure how much looking he actually did, but he was very kind and I appreciated the sentiment. Highly recommended.
