Just stayed at the Cottage with a party of 5 for Labor Day weekend. It was a great experience. First of all, it’s located less than a block away from the hotel, where Jan was always available(she is always available via cell as well) The cottage was quaint, featuring two bedrooms(1 with a king sized bed, 1 with a queen/full) So it comfortably sleeps 4 people, and we had the 5th person sleep on the couch downstairs. 1 bathroom as well, which wasn’t ideal for all 5 of us, but the cottage was so cute, like a small starter house. Ample towels, directions on wifi connection and places to go, a kitchen with some items in the fridge for us, board games for people to play(we played Apples to Apples one evening) — it’s an ideal place for a nice getaway, especially if you’re in town to see some Amish culture. Jan gave us some recommendations for places to eat. If you’re in Lancaster(yes, there is a Lancaster city in Lancaster– the County) visit the Belvedere Inn! We ate there and it was fantastic! A small bbq sits outside the cottage in the back, along with some Adirondack chairs for drinking a beer while the sun sets. We range in ages: mid 20’s to early 40’s, and we all enjoyed our time here.

I stayed at their cottage on three separate occasions. It was a wonderful experience each time. If you need a place to stay in this area I believe the artist inn and their cottages are simply the best place to stay. The owners are sweet and accommodating; the cottage is immaculate and homey. You just can’t go wrong staying here.

Me, my wive and newborn baby stayed in their cottage. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Jan is very nice and responsive. A great place for a relaxed stay in the countryside.

After just four stays at BnB’s I’ve decided that I’m NOT a BnB person. Maybe i just prefer a hotel, or maybe I’m just antisocial, but all that to say I do love the Artists Inn. My girlfriend and I stayed here several years ago and agreed of the four we’d been to this was by far the best… so we stayed there again this year. Our first stay was in the main house and our second in the cottage up the street. Both times the Jan and Bruce were exceptional hosts and the accommodations were warm and friendly and fun. Jan is an outstanding cook and Bruce’s art really makes their place feel special. The houses are pretty old and show some age, but the property is very well maintained and impeccably clean. Jan keeps lots of little amenities close at hand and if you need anything they are always willing to help. There are some nice local attractions and a few great restuarants pretty close to the inn, but don’t expect too much. The Inn is better suited to folks who want to get away from the city, eat some good local cuisine and relax in a quiet, idyllic setting. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing or romantic getaway in Pennsylvania, you can’t go wrong here. Even if you don’t consider yourselves ‘BnB people!’
