Heeelllooooo! Little brownie cheesecake bites. Need I say more. Fresh and delightful. Just found out a couple of weeks ago that they are selling the place and I am highly disappointed. Awesome atmosphere and they pastries were incredible and so fresh. Who knows? Maybe they will reconsider. WAY better than Starbucks!

Is ok but lacks much. Nice location. Needs a boost in equipment and prep to make this a swingin’ good place for coffee. Food items are decent but nothing more. I do not plan a return.

Ok so first off, James P needs to try again, new start ups are always tough and you have to give Lanna and John props for stepping out and being local hero’s instead of corp. robots. Java Junkies is one of the best coffee shops I have been in and I’ve been in many! Traveling around the entire country with 38 ministry team members we had to have coffee in every major/minor/non-existent town we came across. I’ve even tried SB in the mecca city of Seattle,(we supposedly found the very first SB). Buying and supporting local is the only way to go when possible but JJ makes it easy for more than one reason. 1) Lanna and John are fantastic people, they have even gone to the trouble of making sure they have coconut milk and plain non dairy cupcakes on hand for my three year old grand daughter and my daughter who both have dairy allergies and she loves«Mr John» and is sad if he isn’t in the shop when she arrives. 2) The big screen TV’s are used to show cool movies during the day that people can chill in the great atmosphere they have sweated/bled/pounded out of one of the oldest buildings in town. They also keep puzzles, games, dominoes, etc. for locals to come hang out and chill as well. A large collection of personal cups on hand behind the counter show how many locals like the vibe. 3)They support local business and events themselves as well. Local artists as the Northeast Texas Fine Arts Alliance event was hosted by them. They team with local businesses to hand out free coffee samples and the most amazing cheesecake samples to help raise money for Miracle Children’s Network. They do special events in their awesome building as well as holding dinners/music events for a select few fans from time to time.(The meatloaf dinner was the best I’ve ever had)! 4) The building restoration/decoration job alone is worth going by to see. And yes James P, signage is greatly improved and was done by a local artist, lol great job Lanna. All in all, if people in Terrell and the surrounding area don’t support this business and it ever falls, Terrell will be a much darker/boring/sad town to live in so get the word out Unilocalers! P. S. James P, if I spelled something wrong or my grammatical context was a bit out of norm, forgive me as I was a bit low on caffeine because I haven’t had my JJ fix for the day yet!!!

Ok, so I am a self-professed nut for shopping local. Perhaps enthusiast is a better adjective to use — but in any event, I don’t think I am nieve enough to expect a new business experience to be perfect on the first try. That said, I usually applaud ANYONE who has the guts, energy(and checkbook frankly) to open their own business. The odds of success are low, and the food/service business is full of Looo-oooong days and is generally high-risk and low reward…(puts away soap box). Anywho, I stumbled upon Java Junkies via Unilocal and it is located in one of the most beautiful and historical buildings in Terrell, Tx(pop. 15,816, located ½ hour east of Dallas as the crow flies). JJ has been around about 1 year and is the newest coffee shop in town trying to make a go-of-it. When I entered on this Saturday AM ~11AM, I found Lanna(owner) busy making baked goodies in the back. She promptly greeted me, chatted me up(…and bless her heart, I AM turning into my Dad — as I always have a million questions in my quest to understand what makes these ‘entpreneur-type-people’ tick…) and she quickly served me coffee and a cinnamon roll(um, awesome!). I was tickled to learn that they serve Summermoon wood fire roasted coffee from Austin — which was a delicious treat! Ms. Lanna was personable and seems to be in this business cuz she loves people! I found their space to be big and airy with LOTS of seating, requisite free Wifi, 2 large screen TVs — and was ready for a crowd(which usually comes from the City Offices located 1 block North of Main St. There was also an abundance well decorated fresh-baked goodies to choose from(.no fight… muffins and bagels would be bettah) and the place was sparklingly clean! My stay was brief(2 cups while milking up some sorely needed Wifi that my Mom’s house lacks) but I was glad I came across Java Junkies. For me, I’ll spend my $$ with local folks every day of the week rather that drive 2.5 miles to SBs out on Hwy. 34/IH20. Rock on Lanna and good luck! I’ll be back!
