Nice views of Lake Norman and incredibly friendly waitstaff. Probably not the best place for seafood.

Simple, traditional rib-sticking fare in a fun atmosphere at great prices. It was a little like being at home, but I didn’t have to cook, except my husband got to have fries! ;) We came here on the advice of our realtor after a tough morning of house hunting. The staff were welcoming and helpful and attentive. Loved the décor which is very much roadside diner meets the waterline, with lots of outboard motors and 70’s chairs; it felt comfortable and homey and warm. We had a window seat and loved it. Lots of locals, and lots of pleasant staff who made us feel like locals. I had a salad(I eat a lot of salad) and spouse had a burger and fries. We were both pleased with our selections. The food was properly prepared and flavorful. In all a great experience!

I LOVE this restraint, we went there and there was a REALLY long wait but it is totally worth it. They serve like, ANYTHING!!! I would like if they served breakfast a little longer into the day but their lunch was so good!!! I would really recommend this restraint they serve sea food if you like sea food, they serve fried and grilled foods, and they serve pancakes eggs waffles omelet really every breakfast item for breakfast.

This place is just amazing, if you aren’t careful you won’t even really notice it, which I have noticed over the years that is where the best places are hidden, in plain sight. Service was very friendly and very fast. Wife and I did lunch here yesterday before going out on the boat. I had the Shrimp Po Boy with onion rings, and she had the Shrimp Alfredo. Poor bread didn’t stand a chance to hold all the shrimp and the flavor was great. The onion rings are made in house and you can tell, had a nice spice to them, and a great bite. Another thing I like about this place is the sweet tea, you don’t have to chew it like some places in town. And can’t even complain about the prices because you seriously get what you pay for. The only complaint my wife had was the alfredo sauce could have been a bit thicker, but we both loved the taste of it, and she loved stealing shrimps from my po boy. We will certainly hit this place again, probably every time we go out on the boat. Just a fun casual place with amazing food. I am going to try the shrimp and grits next time.

I have no idea how we didn’t hear about this place before now! Great atmosphere, awesome staff, and terrific food! This place has a great family feel, really laid back. The regulars and staff are friendly and make you feel like you have known them forever. If you have a boat, you can even pull up right to the place! My husband had the fish wrap and I had a hamburger steak. You can’t go wrong with this one! Hopefully we will become regulars and see you there!

Came here for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon. There was hardly any other customers around. We got to choose whatever table we would like to sit, so we chose one with the best of view. It’s nice to look out to the lake and see all those boats. I did not come with a high expectation, but the food quality and service level surpass whatever I envisioned this place would be. And I found the price very reasonable as well. While it is not gourmet by any means, I did enjoy the homestyle cooking.

Great view, great service, awesome food! Went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the mahi fish tacos along with the best($ 4) Bloody Mary I’ve ever had! Tyler was our server and he was terrific: attentive, informative and pleasant. Go here! You won’t be sorry!

We visited the MBG after a long day out on the lake. They have boat slips for visiting patrons from the lake, right in front of the restaurant — big plus. We were very impressed with the nautical type decoration and very cool to see the vintage boat engines hanging from the wall. Bar is huge but dining room is a bit small. however, we had no problem finding a prompt table to sit. Food was pretty amazing and exceeded our expectations. Many times this type of restaurant is just frozen Sysco food-galore but here a lot of items are clearly home made and very well presented. Onion rings are great, chips and salsa were home made. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very tasty. The place is incredibly clean as well and so are the bathrooms. I cannot stress how important that is and it is obvious the management knows and cares about it. Our server was very attentive but did not know what prosecco was(not that one would go to this type of restaurant to drink that but had to ask). Also there was a mistake with our food where we ordered the fish wrap but got chicken. Wife still ate it and was incredibly tasty. They did correct the bill for it though and manager came out to apologize. We will be making MBG our dine at the lake place from here on.

It really doesn’t matter when you go(well unless it happens to be raining), but this place always has a long line and wait, especially on nice sunny boating days. There really isn’t many choices in terms of eateries reachable by boat and this place happens to be where the yuppies end up(I am definitely stereotyping by the amount of LV purses being sported around the premises). They serve breakfast all day and a decent sized lunch/dinner menu. I always end up getting the omelet and always regret it. It’s ok, but a tad on the dry side. An omelet comes with a side of home fries or tomato slices and bread or biscuit. Their home fries were actually pretty tasty, but the biscuit is wonderfully yummy(split in half and slightly grilled). I asked for the Veggie Omelet with Sausage(but they forgot the American cheese and the mushrooms), but still charged for the sausage. It’s my fault for not noticing it until I ate more than half of it(starving b/c service is also REALLY slow!). However, the waitstaff are really nice and attentive, but be forewarned. It will probably take about an hour from the time you get there, get a seat, order and get your food. Enjoy!

Good little restaurant! We had the shrimp and grits and the fried catfish. Everything was very good. Loved the catfish and the veggies. All of the fried food we had was very fresh and lightly fried. Just how we like it. Prices were very reasonable also! We will go back for sure!

We love this place for breakfast — most amazing grits in town. You’ll have to wait on a weekend morning but its worth it. Staff is awesome and the food is great. We stopped in for lunch the ore day and really enjoyed the meal. I had the blackened Mahi-Mahi salad and my husband had the Mahi-Mahi sandwich. Both were excellent. I tried one of my daughter’s French fries(they’re steak fries) and could have made a meal of just those!!! We haven’t tried dinner here but imagine it would be fun with a group. They have a huge bar that’s typically filled with locals — it’s a greats ace to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or something more substantial during the day! Whether by boat or by car, it’s worth the trip!

For what I was wanting this really fit the bill. We had a great day on the water on a random warm Sunday in December and realized some places on the water are closed during the winter. NOT Midway Boathouse Grill! Easy to get into the boat parking. Easy walk to the restaurant. I ordered the Mahi Mahi wrap with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was really fresh and very good. The service was amazing. I don’t think my sweet tea got below halfway the entire time. They had mimosas, bloody mary’s and Carolina Blonde on special, too. It looked like they have a good sized parking lot. For warmer weather they have an out door area and a little tiki bar thingie. It was December so it was all closed up but will check it out in the spring!

This is a nice place. Good view of the marina and Lake Norman. We eat breakfast here about 10 times a year. Pancakes are good, prices are reasonable. Seating is a little limited.

Get the BLT! It’s the best BLT on the lake! The pulled pork is awesome too! It should be since it’s from the Lancaster family!
