Do not eat here!!! Waitress was inattentive and rude and their omelette had raw bacon in it and gave me violent food poisoning! When I called and talked to the manager he completely denied it and wouldn’t do anything to help so I’m getting the board of health involved so more people don’t get sick! A friend told me their is an awesome Waffle House down the road that’s a much better choice.

Wait was short for a Sunday morning breakfast and service was prompt. Food was fine and portions were good sized. Would come back and would recommend it to a friend. Breakfast without. A fuss.

You will normally be seated right away and service is quick, unless you come during busy hours(breakfast/lunch time on the weekends), then you might find yourself doing a whole lot of waiting. The owners and servers are pretty friendly and there is a parking lot shared with the Motel 6 next door. The food is pretty good. It’s chain food, so you’ll find the same quality at basically any IHOP. The food is normally thoroughly cooked, but you might get a pancake with uncooked batter in the middle every once in a while. Oh well. Your typical, run-of-the-mill IHOP. You get what you pay for(not necessarily in a bad way)!

It’s been a while since I’m going to IHOP on Route 38 but when I had gone the food has was good. The service was normal but the wait time was pretty extensive. We normally try to find a place for breakfast on Sunday mornings and of course this is the busiest day of the week. I don’t mind waiting for good service and food. On a Sunday morning you may have to wait 35 minutes to to an hour and a half wait not my favorite thing.

I usually like this I Hop but today I was a little disappointed first off the service was very slow and then after I ordered when the food came out wasn’t what I ordered I was hungry so I just ate it but this is the 2nd time within 4 days that I gone out to breakfast and what I ordered isn’t what was brought out maybe I need to start writing down what I want!

This place seriously has the the worst service ever. It took him 5 min just to come get our drink order. Brought out our drinks said he would give us a few minutes. Guess what it’s been 20 and we haven’t seen him once!!! We are a party of 4, so it’s not that overwhelming. The dude behind us sat after us has a different server and is already eating. Don’t think we will be eating here again.

A few months ago we went to Tewksbury IHOP and upon entering there was a horrendous stench. My friend and I were former food service employees back in the day of our youth and we both looked at each other and said eww, grease trap! As in, the grease trap needed to be tended to, drained, cleaned etc. Not the description of the restaurant! Something else happened on that trip to IHOP that triggered me to complain to corporate HQ. I can’t quite remember. Anyways, I got a reply stating that the smell was some sort of adhesive used to fix the roof. YEAHRIGHT! We are not idiots. This didn’t stop us from returning several times after as we felt that we always got a consistent breakfast style meal. That is what is important, knowing what to expect when you go to IHOP. That stench and idiotic explanation wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Fast forward to last night. The chain of consistency was broken, big time. What I got was Hot Chocolate that tasted funny. It wasn’t good at all. I could not pin point the issue, maybe the hot water was stagnant? How can a cup of hot water at IHOP be stagnant though? And how can a cup of Hot Chocolate be messed up? The whipped cream? Well, it didn’t taste sour so I don’t know. Whatever it was, it was certainly too disgusting to drink. So I sent it back. A mystery for sure. The scrambled eggs were wayyyy tooooo undercooked. They had a creamy consistency that I am not used to and I do not like. Additionally, they had a buttery taste that was strange to me as I have NEVER experienced scrambled eggs prepared like this before at IHOP. How can you screw up scrambled eggs? I don’t want a cook that puts a personal flair on these eggs, I want consistency. The place was empty. At the time of us being served, there was only one other table of two old guys. For now on we will probably go to the one in Saugus.

I came here the other day with my bf and it took at least 5 – 10 minutes for the server to come take our drink order. I can hear the servers chit chatting away behind the built in walls. Mind you he was wearing a gap sweater. it just felt very unprofessional there.

Let’s be real, the food here is edible, and, if you get breakfast, it might even taste good. It’s not a location specific thing. The recipes are pre-fab, nothing gourmet it going on. And that’s okay if you set your expectations appropriately. Service at this location is… spotty. Prepare to eat what they bring you, not necessarily what you ask for(pancakes vs. french toast). Don’t be surprised if you have to ask for your drinks, your bill, or silverware more than once. For the love of all that is good though, don’t shout your complaints. We all know it’s an IHOP, we all know that at least one waiter/waitress is trying really hard on his/her first day. I don’t care if you were accidentally charged for mushrooms you didn’t order. I’m not surprised it happened though. Yesterday, we had a decent to good experience, minus the horrible clientel. A man actually interrupted our waiter TWICE to shout about the survey he was going to fill out on the receipt. What a jerk. Will I go back? Sure, it’s IHOP. Is it my first choice? Not if Vic’s down the street is open!

Stay away from here at least if u’re looking for someplace for dinner. It’s lotally REDICULOUS when I ordered a medium done T-bone steak but to find it overdone and taste like charred chicken breast, what a magic. The omelet taste like paper towel. The only thing normal is salad and beverage.

I would really like to review the quality of food and service in this particular IHOP… but I can’t. We stopped in there today at around 1:45PM, and were seated right away. The place didn’t look too busy, and we spotted a few waitresses making their rounds. None of them stopped at our table or acknowledged that we had been seated in that section. I counted no less than 4 wait staff working in this one area of about 15 tables. 10, and then 15 minutes passed and still nobody stopped at our table. Other tables with patrons who came in during this time were being tended to, yet we were not. Finally, when people who were seated long after we were, at a table right next to us, were approached for their order, we got up and left. I don’t know where the communication breakdown happened in that establishment, but all of the waitresses walked by enough times that they should have noticed the people at the table with their menus sitting folded a good 10 – 15 minutes later. A good wait staff would check in and see if someone at another table had been helped yet, which is easy to notice if you don’t even see drink glasses on the table. It’s IHOP. I don’t expect 5 star food or 5 star service. I go there because I want to have eggs, pancakes, bacon, and coffee. I’ve been to the ones in Saugus, Peabody, Danvers(when it was still there), Kenmore Sq. in Boston(also gone now), and so on over the years, and never had a complaint. This location might be OK for you, if you get served.

We went last week with legitimate birthday emails sent from IHOP corporate. The manager wouldn’t let us use both of them he came up with a lame excuse that they were sent to the same email address which can be normal since Ihop send additional family members birthday coupons to the primary email address. The manager made me feel like a criminal. When I complained to him he said he was following the rules. While I was talking him the busboy took the food on my table that I wasn’t finished with. My wife had also planned to take half her meal home and my son’s meal that he ate only half of but we couldn’t since the bus boy threw it away. I complained to the manager about the food being thrown away and most managers now in 2013 in a chain restaurant would just make another meal to bring home to solve the problem and please a customer. This manager did nothing and just wanted me out of there. He was clueless when I said most place would cook another meal to bring home, pancakes don’t cost much to make and can be made quickly but he didn’t want to please a customer. I completed the survey on the receipt and received an email from the franchise owner defending the manager and said he was following the rules. I also called the IHOP corporate and complained and got basically the same email again from the franchise owner pretty much the tone was how dear you complain twice about our bad service. The waitress also didn’t refill drinks and got my wife’s order wrong. This is not the way I wanted to have a nice Saturday brunch with my family in between our birthdays. The owner & manager of this location are both clueless when it comes to pleasing customers. They treat customers with coupons from corporate like second class citizens. This style of running a restaurant went out of style years ago. I am used to chain restaurants where they try to please customers and when you call corporate to complain they send you a gift card for your troubles. Not at IHOP they just refer your problem to the same person that caused it so they can defend themselves to you.

Eh… it was ok. Service was good, food was good but how can you screw up pancakes. The good thing was that it was super cheap. Fed 4 people for like $ 30

This review is for after-hours(2am). Food Stick to the breakfast. [I]nternational [H]ouse [O]f [P]ancakes. I-H-O-P. As appealing as everything else may be in the menu pictures, it won’t always show up like that. That being said, the food here is quite filling. A regular breakfast sampler would be enough to feed two people. Pancakes! Steer clear of the special drinks, too. They are very sugary, and if you’re coming here from bar hopping — you’re gonna have a bad time. Atmosphere If you left the bars/clubs 15 minutes early, then you’re good to go. If you left when they kicked you out, then prepare to wait in line at IHOP behind other drunk and indecisive people. You’ll see all type of people here at night, from the casual snackers, to the drunk and dying clubbers coming back home. One time, there was a guy passed out on the bathroom stall floor — and another time there was a guy who threw up in the restaurant when it was dead silent(lol). Weird stuff. Staff Okay, no matter who you get at this hour. Don’t put your standards up too high. I think they all suffer from restaurant-shell-shock or something. Sometimes it feels like there’s no particular order that things are being done, so you might get your food at different times. Or you might be waiting half an hour for a check. Or maybe you just want a to-go box, but they never came back. I’d hate my job too if I had to deal with drunk people like me. Final Thoughts In all actuality, I’d probably eat here again given my limited choices for late night foods. Can’t beat 24hr on weekends.

Stopped by here on our way to Laconia, NH for bikeweek festivities and since Ihop is few and far between I jumped on this one craving some awesome pancakes. We were very pleased with the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes as always.

I am a HUGE fan of IHOP, and I always frequented the one in Harvard Square. I’ve been to this one a few times… The service is variable. The second time I came here, the server disappeared for a long time, didn’t ask me how the food was, and was very inefficient. I went here again today for breakfast, and I found a long hair embedded in my scrambled eggs. They were SO busy and the servers were rushing around like crazy so I didn’t even bother to send it back. I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast.

I visited this place once for brunch after a long morning of shopping at the nearby big box stores. I have to admit that the experience was pretty nice and filling even if it was fattening with all the pancakes, bacon, and sausages. For those that like this type of food, this restaurant would be a great place to visit.
