I have been putting off reviewing Bubblecraft Soapworks for sometime now because I just didn’t have the energy to write the review that it deserves but seeing that how it still has no reviews I think I’ll muster up my energy and give it the umph it totally deserves. I’ve been to Bubblecraft about a dozen times or so since it’s been open about 7 – 8 months? It actually averages to about once a month but I went several times when they first opened. Bubblecraft has a wide variety of products ranging from soaps, soaps that bubble up, soaps that don’t bubble up, bubble bath, bath salts, bath bombs, candles, car air fresheners, lotion, lotion bars, deodorant, and the list just goes on and on. It really is quite the perfect place to go to pick up gifts for anything from stocking stuffers or for me, I tend to go there when I’m about to go on the road and I’m going to be staying with some friends. I used to take some kind of food with me but now I take a bar of soap or a lotion bar with me. Lotion bars are different, people haven’t heard of it, but it doesn’t spill or make a mess so it’s a great gift to keep with you on the road. I have to admit I haven’t actually used the lotion bar outside of the store so I like it but I can’t like vouch for it per se, but so many people have sworn by it, and even men who are so manly that they don’t need product to be a man have said that they swear by the lotion bar. I don’t really use lotion but something about the weather change has made my skin really dry so maybe I will go and buy one. Patricia, the owner makes everything from scratch herself. Well that’s not true, there are a few products in there that she purchases such as most of the candles, shaving brush, aroma therapy kit and other things, but she totally points those out to you if you ask and a lot of these products she recommends to use with one of her products, which is why she probably sells those partnering products, so to speak. My favorite product is a hydrating face cream that she has. Maybe I’ll start using that on my legs too. Nah. A lot of her soaps are really cool looking with interesting designs and swirls and stuff, and she always has a few out for you to see, but she also has some that are wrapped in a beautiful paper that has what it is and I believe its ingredients as well. Patricia used to be a nurse and really thinks about her customers and what she would want as a customer and makes those products. She thinks about health benefits as well as the smell, design, and convenience of the products. Of course not everything is for everyone but I think there really is something for everyone. I would not go to Bubblecraft if you have five minutes to shop a quick in and out, unless you know what you are getting. She doesn’t follow you everywhere but if you ask, she loves to tell you about her products so a quick stop can easily become 30 minutes. Free parking is available on the street but its easy to find spots unless there’s something at the Perot or the Silvermoon. But I guess that’s the case for anywhere downtown Texarkana. Lastly and almost most importantly, there’s always a few soap samples you can take home and try. COOL.
