If you are wanting a good basic catfish dinner this is the place to go. I ordered the large catfish dinner and had plenty of fish and fries to fill me up. The side portions are small though the pinto beans are great but it’s a very small cup along with the cole slaw.

We were travelling and unable to read Unilocal reviews. We knew of 2 restaurants here serving catfish — Catfish King and the Blue Bayou restaurant. We flipped a coin and unfortunately chose this one. I had the oysters and catfish. The fish was bland and overcooked. The oysters were deep-fried batter with a sniff of oyster. Couldn’t finish either of them. It was also an environmental disaster. Despite being a sit-down restaurant, the food was served on plastic plates with plastic utensils and the drinks served in styrofoam cups. All of which went directly to the local landfill.

Last time we ate here, it was fantastic. Today, only fair. The fish fillets were good but small. The french fries were not hot. There was a bad smell near the bathrooms. The ice tea was good. We don’t eat there often so we were looking forward to our lunch. An inconsistent reputation is not good.
