It’s Chinese food, decent portions, nothing spectacular. They deliver which is nice if you are sick of ordering pizza. Their menu is typical, most of their dishes are heavy on thick cut pieces of onions, green peppers and other veggies and limited on meat. They do a decent house fried rice and their crab rangoon is better that other places. The people working there are kind of mean but they get busy, especially on Sunday nights so I can forgive that. It’s close, its fast and ok for take out cuisine.

The food is meh, but they are kinda the only option for Chinese food delivery in the colony. They usually only have a $ 12 delivery minimum(like most places) but I called tonight and they told me the minimum was $ 25 to deliver to me because I live more than 2 miles away.(My total was $ 19 and some change). I cancelled my order and mapped how far away I am from them. I’m 2.9 miles away… why does my delivery minimum DOUBLE for .9 miles? $ 25 minimum plus tip to deliver 2.9 miles? I’d rather spend my $ 30 on a steak dinner.

I’ll start by saying we don’t eat Chinese take out really anywhere else, so take that for what it is… we love this place, yes their customer service is so-so sometimes, but the food is great. We always go in to pick it up and the family is nice it just seems like they are always so busy(that’s not necessarily a bad thing). Anyway, I don’t know why it has such low reviews. The lobster mei fun is my favorite. Yummy!

I have been ordering for over a year. I always do delivery due to their convenient online ordering and quick delivery. The food always arrives quickly, well packaged and hot. The food is always fresh especially the veggies. My faves are the Vegetable Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken. You can’t beat the price for the quality and quantity.

Food is your typical Chinese. This was the 2nd time we have ordered from this restaurant. We made the order(with confirmation) online at 8:31 pm. It is now 9:54 and we haven’t received the delivery. I called around 9:45 and asked what was going on and the woman who answered the phone stated that we placed our order at 9:30. I told them to please cancel our order. She replied«well we have already made the order, it is out for delivery and we have already charged you.» I let her know that our card cannot be charged until we sign for it. She stated«yes we can, and your card has already been charged.» I repeated my earlier statement and hung up. A few minutes later, the restaurant called me back and a gentleman who apparently was the manager or owner, was polite, and informed me that they were having problems with their online orders and they were receiving the orders 30 minutes later than they were placed, and that he received my order at 9:30(which was one hour after our confirmation). I told him to go ahead and send it, since we were hungry and had just gotten in from out of town and had nothing set out to cook at our house. We FINALLY got the delivery at 10:01. The food is as expected, however the egg rolls are filled with cabbage, and cabbage only. An egg roll should have meat, cabbage and other vegetables. China Star has just lost our business.

Food is better than the other Chinese here in the colony. I have only ordered take out from here and my order has always been correct. They are a bit rude over the phone but I’ve gotten used to that since I go to alot of Asian owned places. Lol. If you think they are rude here you should try a mom and pop Vietnamese spot and see how they act lmao

The woman behind the counter messed my order up. I never got an apology or a sorry. All she wanted to do was argue with me saying it was may fault. Never coming back to this establishment. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

DONTDOIT! The delivery service is terrible. 2 hours after being told dinner was«out for delivery» we lost hope and decided to cancel… But apparently these managers are new to credit cards machines and don’t know how to refund 2 meals. Never again…

This place should be shut down. I ordered some food and when I dumped out the rice, a booger fell out. I called to have them refund my money and they told me to return the food and that they don’t do refunds. I told them I’ll gladly let them have the food back but I’m not bringing it there. I had to order delivery because I was at work and couldn’t leave the store. So the crazy lady drove to my work and starting yelling at me in front of customers. She kept yelling«I need to take pictures, I need to take pictures!» I had to kick her out of the business. The owner was also yelling at me on the phone and kept hanging up on me. I would never eat here again and I’m going to report it to the TX Dept of health and human services. It would have made a great Seinfeld episode.

What kind of Chinese take out place makes shrimp fried rice without egg? China Star does. You have to pay extra for egg. The food is just mediocre. Not impressed.

I placed an order based on good reviews and I was extremely BEYOND disappointed in my delivery service as well as customer service. The driver who delivered to me pounded on my door, and when I answered informed me, «You pick up next time.» He stomped away. I immediately called and asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. I asked that I be comped my meal for how rudely I was treated, and the manager could barely understand me, let alone address my concerns. I explained the situation to him and he informed me that he would«need to speak to his driver» to get his side of the story and he could«do nothing for me.» He said he was«only a worker» and could not and would not«pay for my meal.» I informed him that he was welcome to send his driver back to pick up the food. He informed me that I could«bring it back to him.» I refused. Had they not wanted to deliver to me in the first place, they never should have said they would when I called to make sure that they could and would. I informed the so called«manager» how terrible his customer service was as well as how absolutely deplorable both he and the driver treated me. This was of no concern to him as he continued to tell me he «had no money» to pay for my meal. I wasted $ 30 on this disgusting restaurant and these terrible people. Never, ever again. Do not order from this place. Deplorable customer service, rude delivery services, and no interest whatsoever in doing what is right for the customer. Disgusting.

China Star is my go to place for Chinese delivery for 5 main reasons. 1. They are fast. I swear sometimes they are cooking the food in the car on the way over. 2. It’s hot when it gets here. Like, blowing on the bite before I put it in my mouth hot. 3. They are honest. I was ordering some items separately that come as a combo, and instead of letting me needlessly spend too much, they told me I could get the dinner with all items for less money. 4. The order is right. The first time and every time. 5. Prodigious sauce packets. I like to make soy sauce soup out of my rice(don’t judge) and they give me all the packets I need. 6. Last but NOT least, THEFOODTASTESGOOD! Not like $ 50 a plate good… but we are talking delivery here. This is as good as it gets in delivery Chinese. And trust me. I’ve had a LOT of delivery Chinese. I have ordered from there many times now. You should too. I only say this because I want you to help me keep them in business so I can order more delicious food from them.

This was very good. We ordered General Taos chicken, chicken lo mien, chicken on a stick, Sesame chicken, rice, Egg drop soup, and egg rolls. It was tasty. Not my favorite, but good enough that I would order from them again. General Taos was the best out of all of it I think.

Well this visit really put a chink in my armor. Noon: I figure now’s as good a time as any to put on some clothes since I’ve been up for six hours already and it’s Tuesday, not Saturday. 12:05: I call up the joint and tell the gentleman that I would like an order of hot and sour soup and hunan beef. He tells me it will be ready in five minutes. Geof, what are you thinking?! That wasn’t a subtle warning or even a warning bell, that was a full-on alarm telling you not to go there. But what do you go and do, Geof? Then again, you’ve never been one to take advice, no matter how obvious it is, or how often it is shoved down your throat. 19:57: I’m thinking it’s time to stop talking in the third-person narrative. 12:10: I hop in the car(really should have walked since I need the exercise) and pull into the parking lot. Must refuse temptation to go into CJs and pound a few beers and shots. Walk into the joint, while eyeballing the bar the entire way and am surprised to only see one table occupied right at the peak of the«lunch rush». Another sign from the Man Above. If I am lucky enough to get into Heaven, I know he will banish me to hell as soon as we meet, just for being a brainless dolt. Anyway, I get there and my food was waiting on the counter, so the five minute estimate was probably accurate, if not a bit embellished. I thank the gentleman then proceed to head home to savor this fabulous meal. The hot and sour soup was neither. I added hot oil and sriracha at the house just to give it some heat. I did like the addition of large pieces of button mushrooms, but they tasted like they hadn’t been washed. There was no protein in the soup though, aside from tofu. I’m accustomed to a bit of pork. The egg roll was absolutely disgusting. After each bite, I had to take large pieces of some sort of fatty mass out and give it to my dogs. Looked like chicken fat, but was probably pig scrotum, knowing my luck. After giving 90% of my egg roll to the pups, I decided to try the hunan beef. Well, I guess it’s a good thing that they warn you that it is hot and spicy on the menu because I was expecting a little bite and got absolutely none. Not only was it the weakest version of a «hot and spicy» dish I’ve ever had, it was one of the most — check — THE most bland Chinese food I have ever tasted. When I want cheap Chinese food I want so much freakin’ MSG and sodium in it that I’m two bites away from having a minor stroke by the time I finish. The good thing is that I’m about 82% certain that the beef in the Hunan Beef was actually real beef. Unfortunately, that is less than the certainty I have of me eating at this place again. No thank you. Proceed with caution.
