Stewart Peninsula Golf Course

Love this place! Very affordable, pretty lake views, friendly and helpful staff, music on the weekends, and great food. The new owners have really done a great job turning this place around! Do yourself a favor and get yourself a wine-​arita while you’re there!

Pretty location for a course. The lake view is wonderful. On Saturdays in late spring through early they have live music in the evenings. They serve New mexican enchiladas and their is cold beer and wine. It’s wonderful the watch the sunset over the lake with a glass of wine and live music in the background.

Great course. Nice people. 18 holes. Not too expensive. Driving range and carts on site.

If I could give it 0 I would. First off this course is not very nice. My boyfriend loves golfing and wanted to golf with his friend but his friend cancelled last minute so I brought him and planned to ride around in the cart and keep score like I usually do. When we got there the Man at the front desk (who was quite rude) said we’d have to pay and extra cart fee of 12 $ for me to just ride in the cart we already paid for. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me considering how crappy the course is. I’ve been to many nicer courses who didn’t mind someone tagging along. Very rude and unaccommodating. Stay away.

I rode along with my hubby to play golf. Very Nice owners, Marshall and cart boy! Scenery is beautiful. I like it and that’s coming from a girl!

Not a friendly atmosphere at all. Didn’t know much about golf, so I asked questions to the heavy set man behind the counter. He was very rude and gave the impression I was bothering him. Just wanted to use the driving range (which looked horrible anyways). Off to Top Golf I go.

Attempted to try out the range at this golf course today, but was instantly turned off by the cranky asshole of a customer service rep at the country club.
Just save yourself the trip and do not go here!

This was my first time going here. When I got there and realized it was 9 holes, I almost left! But I went ahead and played. It is a 9 hole layout, but with two pin positions on each green. Which was one of the ways they expanded golf courses originally to make them 18 holes. Without the space to make a course 18, they made the double pinned greens. That was super unique. And challenging as hell. It has a feel of a course in Scotland, with modern homes around it. If that makes sense. The closing hole, 9/​18, is very similar to pebble beach with the huge beach on the right. Short layout. There is trouble on every hole. #5 is a long par 3 over water. Prolly the most challenging hole. The last hole is the only hole I hit driver. A lot of placement shots. Very clean facilities and a polite staff. If the weather ever gets better, I’ll be back. Great experience.

This is a hard one to rate. I have played some great courses all around the country and the DFW metroplex. If I were to compare this course to Vaquero, TPC Las Colinas or even some closer courses like Tribute or Old America… the course is only two stars. The reality is, this course is an inexpensive 9 hole course that has been creative at making 18 holes. It is inexpensive, challenging and has some fun holes.
I found the course to be in pretty good condition with friendly staff. They had great beer selection and took pride in their food. The back patio was inviting and is a great place to hang out and imbibe a few beverages while discussing your round watching the sun set and smelling brisket cooking on the smoker.
In closing, my rating is weighted based on what Stewy P. GC is… a 9 hole course in The Colony. This is not going to stand up to your Gleneagles experience. It’s kinda like finding a nice Walmart. Show up with the right expectation and you will find a nice little gem.

This is by far the worst possible excuse for a golf course I’ve ever experienced in my life. Please do yourself a favor and never golf here.

If I could give my first experience here NO STARS I would…
From the start: the first tee Marshall was telling our group that we should play from the MID tees. We are avid golfers, why would we play down? That was the first condescending notion made. Then he was trying «nicely» to tell us to play «best ball» after 3of4 of us had great drives off the tee. We could read right through him that he wanted us to play fast. Disrespectful comment and what a relaxing way to start your Saturday golf game, eh?
By hole 8 we were told to speed up 3 times (by different Marshall’s) when we were already playing at a quick rate.
At the turn the general manager BRANDON came out and in a condescendingly way «tapped me on the back» while in my golf cart telling me telling us to speed up as we just barely got the chance to take a bathroom break. WTF?! you people need to relax and let us enjoy a game of golf!
18TH HOLE: one of the Marshalls came up to tell us not to hit. We responded «those are our friends on the fairway, don’t worry we won’t make it that far.»
He then called up the general manager BRANDON again to tell him we were mouthy to him.
The manager came out causing a ruckus yelling «you all are outta here» out of no where. As we were leaving he preceded to call the cops to come up there. This BRANDON guy was CRAZY! Really? Calling the cops?
I have never been treated this way not only at any golf course, but any business establishment…
In closing, the course was just OK for semi private course, greens were junky though. Decent views of lake. You have to repeat 9 holes, ya that’s fun. NOT.
Please do not give this course your business, BRANDON needs to be fired for his ridiculously immature behavior. I hope the actual owner reads this so he can figure out why his course is going down hill.

This is a must-​read before booking a round of golf at this course.
I attended this course with my friends, all of whom are experienced golfers.
On a positive side, it was a nice course with plenty of good lake views.
However the treatment of customers is absolutely appalling. When we walked up, the manager had his staff say to us why don’t you guys «play best ball» in order to try to speed us up which made us feel really comfortable.
Then the entire day the staff constantly was policing us around the course badgering us to speed it up, even when the guys behind us weren’t even around.
When we kindly questioned the staff why they insisted on following us the manager took if upon himself to abuse us off of the course. His behavior was absolutely unbelievable. I have never seen an establishment treat its customers with a complete lack of respect. Totally compromised our experience.
The bottom line is the manager and staff need to be replaced before I or any of my work colleagues/​friends ever think about playing here again. Awful experience.

The owner is condescending and the marshalls breathe down your neck. We were told to speed up despite the fact we were teeing off at the time the group in front of us were putting on a par 4. Maybe don’t schedule groups 3 minutes apart?

One of the best 9 hole courses I played with several par 4s, par 3’s and a par 5.
Par is 66, and on a windy day it will wreck your chance of getting close to that number.
Each hole is unique, and has a grand view of water, trees and a stunning lighthouse where the club house is located.
The toughest holes are 4, 5 and 9, but mind you each hole has its own challenge.
You get to choose from 3 different sets of tees, and then you play Red for the first 9 and then Yellow for the back 9.
Typically you can play for about 25 bucks, which in todays economy is a nice price.
The greens are usually speedy, and even at this time of year the course is in solid shape.
They do have a driving range, and chipping and putting area.
The inside of the clubhouse is being redone, and it will be exciting to see the final changes, hopefully it does not affect the course price.
Swing Away! and Shoot Low!

This review might be biased somewhat just because I have never golfed before but… Here goes :
1. the scenery was amazing — this course looks or Lake Dallas and it is spectacular at sunset!
2. the course seemed a little crowded but according to my dad we had it quite easy with only 1 team ahead and only 1 team behind us
3. the entrance was a little spotted: gravel and broken pavement (this could use a revamp)
4. the cost — perfect for a beginner and even the carts were a smooth ride
total experience — Awesome! some people complained about it saying 18 holes and having to play back through but I would think this would be an advantage to some who like my self need the extra practice
I scored a 48 on 9 holes just before dark and it was a whole lot of fun for my first time out! I look forward to improving my swing and making sure i keep my head down and eye on the ball more. I will most def use this course again when back in D– Town.

To start off, I’ve encountered 3 staff members when I was there and they were all extremely cordial. That’s why it’s difficult for me to write this review.
After practicing on the range, I was hoping to grab some breakfast. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a café. They did sell cold sandwiches bought from a convenient store, though. On a brighter note, Folgers coffee was on the house.
It took us a while to get accustomed to the layout because there were 6 different tee boxes staggered close to each other when we approached the 1^st hole. The course consists of 9 holes with different tee boxes and greens (red and yellow to differential the front and back). Most of the time, the two flags share the same green. If you land on the wrong green, it’ll be very difficult to get it over to the correct pin especially if you can’t chip it. Though we did play in the midst of winter (in 50 degree weather I might add), the condition of the course wasn’t atrocious, The tee boxes were soft, the fairways were trimmed, but the greens were not well maintained. The course is surrounded by water so that was fun but it didn’t come into play unless you have a wicked slice. Most holes were easy with minimal dog legs. The worst part about the course… Because it looped around, the afternoon rush came so our back nine took exceptionally longer than the front nine when the course was vacant at 10 am.
I wouldn’t recommend playing here unless you’re the type of person who likes to learn from mistakes and would want to replay the hole.

My husband called to schedule a tee time here and asked if there were any cancellation policies when he gave his cc#. The representative clearly stated NO, this will just reserve your time. The next day, he sprained his anke, called to cancel (the day before the scheduled tee time), and management stated, too bad. Per our WEBSITE policy we will not refund you. My husband didn’t USE the website, he used the phone, and they are not standing by their word that they gave over the phone. GM was very rude when he called to resolve. We are now filing a complaint with the BBB and disputing the charge. Terrible customer service if you can’t keep your word.

I was really bummed by this course.
I live in Lake Dallas so luckily I had to drive all around the lake to get there.
The course is on a perfect spot with great views.
Unfortunately the course is ran down. Hard pan fairways and so so greens.
I would not play here again, unless they shut down for a year and redid everything.

Avoid this false 18. First, there are only 9 holes not 18 as advertised. Secondly, I think the manager or owner is bipolar. He was rude as hell one minute and then cool as hell. WTF is your problem buddy? The course is crap even at 20 bucks a round instead of the normal 36. The bunkers are garbage, the greens are unpredictable, and the layout is boring. The grass was fried but this is due to the drought.
Also, the food sucks.

I’ll try not to bore you with this review so I’ll keep it short and sweet. This course is HARD. It’s a small 9 hole course with two sets of tee boxes and pins so the front plays a touch differently from the back. The course doesn’t really play that different the 2^nd go around to do the back nine, but it does give you a great opportunity to redeem yourself if you didn’t do so hot the first time around. Be aware that if you hit an errant shot, the ball is gone. Accuracy is critical on this course… keep it in the short stuff in front of you and you’ll have a great day on this course.
The view of lake Lewisville is great and the breeze will keep you cool while you play. It’s a no frills course but honestly… you’re there to play golf and not socialize in the club house right?
