Excellent location, ease to enter winery tasting area and park. A grand easily visible sign to get attention before pass. Julie gave a very nice smile and answered a few questions quickly, which confirmed she had enough of info on winery/wines she presented. Next time her suggested wine. This time, a date of year resonated on the red: which became the pick. Charming historic interior to keep even non-wine lovers interested enough to tag along with wine enthusiasts of any level. Thank you, God bless+++

The wine tasting was great, especially if you like red wines! The staff was super friendly, and the rustic building is fun to explore!

We stopped in to the tasting room on a Tuesday night and had a very good time. The two ladies who were on staff were friendly and kept the tastings coming. We also purchased a cheese board that included some very good cheeses, dried cherries, dark chocolate, and bread. It was reasonably priced and the wine was above average. We would certainly go back to this place in the future.

«Nice Rustic Winery with Good Wines« My wife and I visited the Sunshine Mill Winery last week and enjoyed our experience. The winery décor is very appealing as you walk to the tasting room. The 3 ladies serving the wine tastings to the customers were very nice. The wines very very fresh and crispy tasting, We also had a cheese platter which was delicious. We also purchased a few of the Copa Di Vino travel wine glasses with wine in them, which were shown on NBC«The Shark Tank» TV show. I would definitely go back to this winery the next time I’m in The Dalles, Oregon.

Don’t get off the highway/freeway for this place — stated open hours are just a suggestion and not followed. 6pm might be eastern standard time for this place. We showed up at 5:25pm and were allowed in to look around but denied wine tasting because of an event that evening. Staff ignored us while they continued to serve tasters that had arrived before us. The interior is cool and worth a look. Have no idea about the wine because we were refused service. When we left at 5:45 — the open signs were still up with no sign of being collected to warn other tasters that the winery was closing early for a private event. I would not say that customer service is a priority here. Definitely try Cascade Cliffs which is just across the bridge into WA(not in any wine maps because they’ve been in place the longest). Customer service is awesome and the wines are even better.

Very nice establishment with excellent staff. It was very busy in there so it was hard to get waited on. There was one obnoxious drunk bothering us. But I will come back as the wine was wonderful as well as the cheese platter.

This place is great! The Chardonnay is actually crisp and fresh instead of bloated and sugary, like most I’ve tried. The staff is friendly, and super knowledgeable about the town and outlying areas. When you come, be sure to plant yourself at one of the outside spaces — it’s dreamy out there!

Wonderful wine, amazing grilled cheese sandwich, and to top it off, they let well behaved dogs inside the building. The only negative is that their wine club requires 2 cases a year, which compared to most, is a little pricey.

Don’t go to Sunshine Mill if they are due to close within an hour. The servers will find any excuse not to serve you. Went with my girlfriends(myself and another completely sober) and the servers refused to serve us seemingly because we were unsure what to order and this was taken as us being«too intoxicated» to be served. Rubbish! I used to recommended Sunshine Mill to everyone, I will no longer be doing so. Rude and judgmental servers. What a shame.

The owners have done a wonderful job making an old flour mill into a winery. The tasting room is great. They kept much of the history, and made it functional. Oh yah, the wine is very good. The barbera is my favorite. The owners, Jim and Molly, are always around, and very nice to talk to. If you’ve heard about this gem because of Shark Tank, there is more to it than that. Every Friday night there is a happy hour called Friday Wine Down from 4 – 7. ½ price appetizers, $ 3 draft beers, $ 4 glasses of white, or $ 5 reds. These are healthy pours, too.

Brittany was just wonderful. We loved the wine, atmosphere, and warm welcome. Don’t be fooled by the outside, this is a must see building. It is like tasting in a hip museum.

This tasting room is in an old flour mill in the historic downtown The Dalles. It’s an old cavernous industrial feeling, very cool. Was there with a group of friends, and there was plenty of space for us to lounge around. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine to share. Great wines. Very helpful and friendly staff. And The Dalles is a great little town with a nice antique shop! Will definitely go back.

This was our fourth and final stop for our day of wine tasting. What a great, historic place. I love that it is an old mill. The inside is decorted so wonderfully, but the outside on a nice day is where I want to be! And a nice day it was. We sat outside while tasting our wine. People were playing games and enjoying each other’s company. We were enjoying our wine and the sun and our pup was enjoying relaxing in the shade. It was $ 7 for about 5 big tastes and we got to take a copa de vino with us. We spent about 2 hours here and loved every minute of it!

This is one of the most unique tasting rooms anywhere and the wine and munchies are reasonably priced. The fact that they saved this historic mill that has sat vacant for 30 years is more than a good reason to support them. I will go back tomorrow. the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable… and the tasting room is amazing. Check out the cool office area and restrooms.

My boyfriend and I went here yesterday and it was awesome! Not only is the building amazing, but they also make some delicious appetizers to enjoy while sampling wine.(Try the Chevre, Hazelnut & Honey Pita… it was wonderful!) I have to absolutely disagree with the person who said it is overpriced. I actually thought it was just the opposite. The price for wine tasting was very reasonable, especially considering the fact that it includes an entire glass of wine in addition to the tasting. The food and bottles of wine seemed reasonably priced, as well. Both girls working were very friendly and informative about the mill and winery. Overall, I would definitely go back to this tasting room and am happy to recommend it to others.

It takes a lot for me to give a place 5 stars but we completely enjoyed all aspects of our first visit to Sunshine Mill Winery and Quenett Cellars. First, what a great, historic space. Loved the uniqueness of it all. Very fun and interesting décor and a great tasting space. The staff were friendly and enthusiatic. The wine was very good. Thumbs way up for the 2010 Redd Red. Their food options were very nice from several different cheese plate selections to a hummus plate. Dino the German Shepherd was definitely at home in the tasting room. We would love to go back for their local music or movie events. I’d say a «must stop» location in The Dalles.

If you visit The Dalles, this is a «must stop.» Awesome Historic mill turned winery/tasting room. One of the best tasting rooms with atmosphere I’ve ever been too. Home of Copa Di Vino( ).
