Fancy Pants Tailor

Being new to the area and very petite, I was in need of a local tailor. Plus I was going to need someone to do alterations for my wedding dress later this year, so better find someone trustworthy now. (See, Mom? I plan ahead.)
Decided to give Fancy Pants Tailor a shot since their website said they specialized in formalwear. Right up my alley of needs. Michelle was prompt in responding to my query on their website and setting up an appointment, and I can’t tell you how convenient it is for them to come to me instead of my having to hunt through The Woodlands for a shop (inevitably hidden behind trees, being The Woodlands).
Michelle and her mom arrived promptly for the appointment, bringing along everything necessary to get me measured and fitted in the dress I needed altered. They were very friendly and professional and also extremely helpful in making sure I was wearing the underthings/​heels I wanted with the dress so it would fit perfectly. They also explained exactly what needed to be taken up (hemmed, obviously, as I am five foot short) and taken in (the bust/​shoulders). They also gave me options for how I wanted the top taken in: a quick fix that would be cheaper or a more precise fit (involving recutting the armholes and realigning the entire top and back) which would cost more. I picked the more expensive option because I wanted to alter the dress to fit from now onward, and not just for a one-​time wear.
I felt the prices were reasonable for their work — and when I got the dress delivered back (another perk!), the worksmanship was great — and the timeline reasonable. To be fair, I wasn’t in a rush. The dress took about 9 days total, but anything with more delicate fabric or more work to be done may take longer. Of course, simpler things may also take less time. They will give you a timeline at the appointment and I’m sure you can discuss with them if your needs are different.
Great work, very friendly, and very convenient. I’ll definitely be using Fancy Pants Tailor coming forward. (Also, you gotta admit it: a great name.)
