Best tasting authentic Chinese I have ever eaten. The spices the chef uses, are combined together in a unique way that is fresh. Certainly not your typical Chinese restaurant. The taste of the food, and the presentation, are fantastic. All of their food is made fresh when ordered. It may take 3 or 4 extra minutes for them to prepare your order, however, the taste that you will experience is well worth it. I have traveled the world,(I work for the airlines) and have never tasted better Chinese. We let our server order for us, and we were not disappointed! The intricate taste of the food was incredible!

I have just eaten there for the first time. It was amazing. My entire family was pleased. No onions or peas in the fried rice. The best wonton soup I’ve ever had. Enjoyed the steamed dumplings and fried cheese puffs. The chicken was breastmeat. The sauces are all made fresh daily. We loved everything. When we found out that they are under new ownership and management, we new we needed to let everyone know. We had the sesame chicken, general tso chicken, and general tso jumbo shrimp.

The best authentic chinese food in the woodlands, our server was Nancy, she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menus. We happened to meet the owner and found out that Shanghai Bistro is under a new management now, the new owners seem very polite and friendly.

My wife and I got sick this afternoon after eating at the Shanghia Bistro. Callled them to tell them we got sick and all they had to say is «sorrie». Food was not that tasty and service was terrible«not even a Chinese cookie». They weren’t all that concerned and did not offer to refund our card. Too many good Chinese restaurants in the Woodlands to have to go there. All I can say is BEWARE!!!

Very authentic Chinese food! They accommodate your taste spicy or not, just ask! Also all the usual Chinese that all Americans love! Beef egg rolls are awesome! All made right here in house!

I’ve enjoyed my peaceful visits to this little restaurant. I come here often, by myself, for lunch as it is near my office. The service has always been friendly and good. I’ve tried many dishes off the menu and everything has been tasty. My favorite is the Pork with Garlic Sauce which I always enjoy. I ask for light sauce and they are always very accommodating. The food has been consistent, hot and fresh. The ambience is relaxed and quiet.

Save your money and your time! We waited almost 2 hours for delivery of our food. We called and were told that they were busy and cooking the food. This was 45 minutes AFTER the order was placed. Called back after an hour, and was told that the driver left. The lady couldn’t/wouldn’t saw when he left and when pressed for an answer, she hung up on me. After 1.5 hours, we called back and were put into their voicemail. Called from a different line, put into their cell phone. If they can’t handle a crowd, they shouldn’t offer to deliver.

HORRIBLEFOOD! The shrimp spring rolls aren’t even made correctly… Eww. Peanut sauce was way to thick and wasn’t made correctly. The container was dirty and spilt all over. I asked for 2 large Wonton soups and they only had broth filled to the rim with 2 lousy Dumplings… had a horrible taste. Usually receive 4 dumplings and lots of noodles ND greens and a delicious broth to go with it anywhere else. I ordered two orders of egg rolls… Only received one order — only to be told some nonsense about, it’s in the bag… Sweet ND sour chicken was over fried and had to pick out ones that weren’t hard to bite into. No fried rice was given as I asked for. $ 45 dollar meal WASTED! called to complain and no one was listening, never again… Never again! And when some one asks… I will not recommend. All food had to be thrown away, the quality was of lazy people who forgot what it is like to serve good food to good people who just wanna enjoy every bite… .so sad!

We love Shanghai Bistro! The service there is always fantastic and they make us feel at home. They always remember what type of food we enjoy and they continue making suggestions so we can try new things too. When we order delivery it is always very prompt. Between dining in and ordering delivery, we usually have food from here twice a week.

It’s been a while since I reviewed this restaurant since the owners changed. First off they are quick at to go orders. They also deliver fairly quickly. The same lady taking my order is quick and fast which I like. I read someone said she was rude. She is so quick and fast it may come across as abrupt but that’s just her style. I’d rather have someone fast then a slowpoke! I know she cares because I was trying to re-order an entrée that they made for me previously which was more authentic Chinese in nature. It was totally made wrong but she had the cook make it correctly. The food entrees can vary from a 2 – 5 stars. I’d say an overall average around 3.25. I think there might be a different cook but I’m not sure. Sometimes my entrees come out different. One thing I miss is the big chunks of bqq roast pork in the pork fried rice. IMO all the Chinese restaurants in The Woodlands area are all about 3 – 3.5 stars. Just about all the Chinese food in The Woodlands is Americanized. If you can bring in a picture or describe an Authentic Chinese entrée to the lady there, she’ll most likely try to accommodate you. There are 17 lunch entrees all priced at $ 7.95. You can also order anything else. They have free delivery over $ 18.

I’ve just recently moved here to the woodlands and have tried several Asian restaurants in this area and to be honest, after what I’ve experienced(taste wise, I am so amazed that some of these places are still in business still) I gave up on trying to find another place to order/dine out. My husband saw this place and suggested we give it a try. As skeptical as I was, I went against my feelings and decided why not throw my money away. ANDBOYAM I GLAD I DID!!! if you are looking for a 100% authentic shanghainese/chinese restaurant, this is the place to go(traditional menu). I can not believe something like this exist in the woodlands. My husband and I were so happy that we were eating and dancing at the same time(definitely not a site to see, lol). We will definitely be back. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the person who took my order did not take my order correctly and placed the dish incorrectly, I ordered to go. Mistakes happen, but it is something to keep note of.

Unilocal should really consider ZERO stars. Lady who picks up phone is BEYOND rude & hangs up before repeating order or saying thank you. When I picked it up I paid with a CC but she didn’t want to accept & said she don’t do CC for less than $ 7. I told her i didn’t have cash & it’s not on her menu anywhere & she swiped up my cc & scanned it with attitude. CUSTOMERSERVICEISAWFUL!!! Never again!!!

Our original plan was to check out the eatery next door but since they were full we ended up here. I’m not sure where to start… okay, the pros: Pros: Friendly welcome Nice dining room Booths! Mongolian Beef was good Other items were average Cons: The worse part was the pushy service-Are we on the streets of Hong Kong? Server pushed many items including a soup that had egg in it which I’m allergic. She would walk away quickly and would not let me ask questions then disappeared. I’m not always a fan of «specials» or items recommended because at some places these are just dishes of food that they’re trying to get rid of before they spoil. The absolute worse part? I was deathly ill the next day:(but my family had no issues nonetheless, never again.

Food was cold and very dry. The general tsos was bland, gummy and undercooked. The chicken wings were hard and overcooked. Im not sure how they managed that. I ordered delivery and asked for two specific things to be included. Crunchy noodles for the soup, and hot mustard. I need hot mustard with my chinese. That is not an option it is a necessity. I told this to the girl who took my order. I even offered to pay for some. I got no hot mustard. I also got no crunchy noodles. I called seconds after the delivery driver, who I tipped $ 5, left, and she said there was nothing she could do. She offered me no resolution to my current problem. Only the promise of discounts in the future. I live 3 minutes from the restaurant, but am home with sick twins today so I cant go get any. I will not be ordering from there again.

This used to be my go-to for Chinese delivery. I’ve ordered dozens of entrees over the past couple years. This week, my «Shrimp w/Chinese Vegetables» arrived with a few(obviously frozen) peas and cubed carrots, and exactly one snow pea cut into eight pieces. The worst part was the sauce — it had chunks. I called to inform them the food was unacceptable, but the manager insisted she had looked at it and it was fine. After several minutes on the phone, they«generously» offered 10% off my next order. Unlikely.

This place is VASTLY underrated as far as asian options in the woodlands go. ASK for the chinese menu if you really want to try something new, the pork joint is one of my favorite meals in this town. Yes, they have the standards: orange beef and general tsos, and they are just as good as any other place around, but the real treats are on the chinese menu. I cant find that anywhere else close that i know of. Wait staff are a little slow sometimes, except chris is pretty good. Probably closer to 3.5 with service but the pork joint and the shredded beef with hot pepper totally make up for it.
