The Paynes are super nice and the park is easy to get into and out of. Unfortunately they have some electrical problems. We ruined our rig while there and got it fixed, came back and realized the problem was with the pedestal. Our surge protector was reading L1 and L2 neutral reversed on number 80 and 81. Some others in the park had problems too. Also the ducks like to roost on your rig and it was messy. Johnnys rv park on hwy 90 was a much newer alternative but they are always full.

This is a very nice RV park. It is very well kept with full hookups including 50 amp electrical service. WiFi was not working well but they were working to improve it. The staff is friendly and gave me a great recommendation for a seafood restaurant. There is a lot of open space and a pond. It very quiet and peaceful. Nearly all spaces are pull-through sites, plenty long enough for our 40 foot 5th wheel. We will definitely be back.

I look for two things primarily in RV Parks, clean and safe. I guess for Payne’s RV Park, one out of two isn’t bad; their park was not clean. The rest room and laundry room I used displayed lots of «clean up after yourself» signs which I guess means because the owners don’t. The park is a bit off the«beaten» path(I-10) and has lots of open space. Most of the guest are long term. The management should consider«curb appeal» improvements; the park office and surrounding area is cluttered and not organized. They could certainly benefit from visiting professional RV parks for ideas. We payed in cash which saved an extra $ 5.00 per day credit card fee. The park’s Wi-Fi never worked. I was able to log on one time but the system was extremely slow; so much for the work I had planned to get done.
