Jack In The Box

I would not recommend eating here! We have stopped there twice now on our way out to the desert, because it is convenient. Both times we were super disappointed. The food is always cold, and they take about 20 minutes to get food out. Our order was also wrong both times, so that made for an even longer wait!

I had my third great visit to this Jack in the Box. On Sunday March 6^th the place was hopping. Vanessa took my order and everything was perfect. Clean bathrooms too.

There’s really nothing to complain about this newly built Jack in the Box. It’s actually nice to have a place to pull over along the Salton Sea. It’s located a little passed half way down the south rim of the Salton Sea off of the Highway 86.
Here’s what I liked…
* Easy access on and off the main road. Makes getting some bio-​fuel quick in order to keep trekking.
* Very clean. Can’t beat being cleaner than something newly built and just a few months old.
* Super easy parking. There are a lot of truckers resting in the surrounding area. So parking is large and easy.
Here’s what I didn’t like…
* Unusually long line for the men’s restroom. But nothing to fault the establishment for :-)
* Nothing else comes to mind.
Food = decent (as expected)
Seating area = very clean
Service = friendly
Restroom = very clean (looks all new)

The buttery jack is good, but why would you fill up the guys fry box then pour some off in front off him. Especially when he paid extra for a large. well that’s what minimum wage gets you. And the customers can be a little annoying. Kids in underwear running around screaming. Just like at their home I guess.

As a frequent visitor to the Ocotillo Wells I gladly welcome this new Jack in the Box to the Salton Sea area.
I just ate there with my wife and we shared two orders of chicken strips, a large curly fry and a large Oreo shake.
The lady who took our order was very nice and patient while I decided what to eat as I don’t frequently patronize Jack in the Box. That same nice lady brought our shake to the table while we were waiting for our food. I did the first thing I do to all shakes, turned it upside down. It passed with flying colors and not a drop was spilled, excellent craftsmanship. The shake also remained delicious and thick down to the last sip, which was in the truck, it lasted so long.
The food was good, the chicken strips were satisfying and the curly fries were fantastic. I like that you get to pump your own sauce too.
While we were eating the manager was tidying up the dining area and struck up a friendly conversation with us asking about the Del Taco Barstow T shirts we were both wearing and what brought us to the area.
All in all, while I still won’t eat Jack when at home, I’ll be returning to the Jack in the Box regularly when I’m in the area. I recommend you do to and respect the place and keep it as clean as it currently is.

One of the few eating establishments in the Salton Sea area and it is already busy with customers non-​stop. This JIB location is fairly new and appears to be sorting out its operations. Thanks for giving us another option for food in the area!
