Family friendly place, lots of kids when I was there and a bit noisy. I ordered the steak salad and it was very good. My friend ordered a burger and said it was good but not exceptional. Found it a bit pricey for what we ordered.

The place was clean and had good service. Good came out quick. Chicken wings were really good. They were smoked and had an awesome spice rub on them.

Had a great burger, but service was a little off. Waited forever for a server to come and no one else was there. Food was amazing!

I could go on and on about how good the hamburgers are but I can make it simple. This burger was as good as I have eaten anywhere. The buns are spot on good. The same was said about the chicken club In our group. Will be back for sure to have another cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg.

My tastes in restaurant dining tends to be pretty high and choices locally are slim pickings. However, there’s a new contender in town. This is some exciting stuff! The Alumni Grill is up and running! After a long day, my biz partner and I decided to try the new Grill located just a few minutes out of downtown Thibodaux. Since the opening, I’ve noticed the parking lot is always full. That can be a good sign, or people are just anxious to try the«new place». As with many Unilocalers, I like to give a new place a few weeks to work out any unforeseen kinks. We invited another friend to join us and we set out on our culinary adventure. The place is simple and nicely decorated with local Nicholls State University garb. It was still early for dinner service at 6pm so we were seated right away and left with Menus. A second later, a young lady named Taylor, our server appeared. We asked what they had on Tap? she looked puzzled, she admitted she didn’t know what that meant. Then we asked about the beers and she seemed a bit flustered and said she could go get the list right away. You know what? I like that. She was clearly new. She didn’t know all the beers off her head yet, but she let us know right away. It’s okay to be new AND in a new place to boot. After hearing our choices, she appeared in a flash with three cold beers and iced pint glasses(i hate those chunky type beer glasses, i was pleasantly surprised). She took our orders and off she went.(a special Bravo to Taylor for handling her newbieness like a pro) What a clever presentation! Personal sized metal baking sheets lined with brown paper. The food was delicious! Cooked to perfection(I requested a medium Burger). We all shared bits and bites across the table chatting on and on about the flavors. The green sauce with the tacos is amazing, but I cant tell you what was in it(Maybe Davis J. could tell you). Another side sauce, looked like a remoulade sauce and it was, but it wasn’t. Another great flavor. Not a fan of the mac n’ cheese, but i believe this to be a Southern thing. It’s really a baked spaghetti which is not a bad thing, but i expected elbow or penne. It’s good and everyone at the table agreed unanimously. The flavor of the Jalapeño was subtle, which can be a hit or miss. A fellow Unilocaler saw my check in and insisted on us trying the bread pudding. We were all full I explained, but she sent me a personal text(it felt like she was there blocking the exits). We complied at her strong persuasions. Um… she was spot on… presentation is quite nice, four thick slices laid out and a bourbon caramel sauce puddles as it soaks in. The sauce, the sauce, the sauce… one of the best I’ve tried since living in Kentucky and Louisiana. It was so good that I’ll leave room next time. Yes, I’ll be back. Great atmosphere, great food, great service… If your dropping your kids off to college, or you’re picking them up, or your visiting our little part of the world, stop in for a bite… and get the bread pudding… or I’ll come block the exits until you do.

Just a couple miles south of Nichols State University on LA1 in Thibodaux, LA you will find the gem that is Alumni Grill. The service is excellent. The food is amazing! I had the Buffalo Burger Club with Alumni Fries — out of this world! It was perfect and when it was served looked like it came from a 5 Star kitchen which in my opinion it did. Check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Such fresh, delicious un’Bar’Bar food! First time here visiting with family, soups are delicious, brisket was moist and smokey, sweet potato fries weren’t greasy and very crisp. Not to mention the staff we’re totally accommodating and attentive! Will definitely be back next visit! PS– *There are a couple of Gluten Free Options!
