This place is an awesome hidden GEM! Holy cow! We were driving around Cajun Country, trying to find delicious boudain and smoked meat and were told about this spot. Wowser. So fun. It’s kinda in the middle of nowhere and you wouldn’t know what it was if you weren’t looking for it. Plenty of parking out front. Inside is a gift shop and a bar, where you’ll do the tastings. The tours cost $ 5, but are free if you buy a bottle. The tour comes with a tasting of all six spirits and a free cocktail. The tour is in the distillery area which begins with«these two really rich doctors were vacationing in Jamaica… and they thought ‘heck, we have all this money and there’s a lot of sugar cane back home — let’s make some booze!’» It was super interesting learning the differences between the spirits and what a «head», «heart» and«tail» is.(Hint: The head will make you go blind!) Right now, they can’t widely distribute their whiskey(LA1) because it takes a year to age. They’re hoping to expand production(with some newly purchased stills), which means longer aging and whiskey on the shelves of local stores. The rum, gin and vodka are currently sold in a few states, including throughout Louisiana. They also do all of their bottling onsite, which adds to the«craft». After the tour, we tasted the spirits and heard the stories behind all of them. The vodka was a nice surprise(I’m not a big vodka drinker). It had a buttery taste, because it’s entirely made out of rice. The bartender/tour guide told us that the gin is a good«intro to gin for the non-gin drinker»(he’s right) and the stories behind the 3 rums and the Rougarou. We left with a bottle of the LA1 whiskey. Really awesome spot, will bring folks here in the future!

We stopped by for the tour & left with a case! The tour was very interesting and informative. I adore the use of local flavors, sugar cane, long grain rice, pecans and satsumas, to make and flavor their spirits. After the tour we tasted each of their products. Each is surprisingly smooth and flavorful. The gin was my personal favorite with its citrus flavor.
