This is a cool place to stop by if you are around the area. There are a lot of interesting things to see here to occupy yourself for about an hour. The visit is free and they take donations. The place can either be a self guided tour or a guided tour. When we went, we first went inside the visitor center and ended up with a guided tour. He took us around the yard, into the above ground basement, the kitchen, and finally into the historic house. Each step of the way the tour guide told us interesting facts about the place. The actual house is well kept and contains posted plaques and pictures. The inside of the house is air conditioned so you won’t be sweating during the summer visits. If you like Oak trees, they have one in the front yard that is estimated to be 450 years old.
