We happened by and stopped. This happens a lot when we spot bookstores along the road. Who knew Thomaston had a bookstore? Who knew Thomaston. OK, we’re from Atlanta, and this came as a surprise. It’s a rather charming, locally owned, independent book shop, and we came by on an afternoon when the owners were hosting a signing for a local author whose new book, «Making Whoopies,» is just out. Whoopies, are a sweet treat sort of like Little Debbies, only they have an expiration date. Seriously, they are two pieces of chocolate cake with marshmellow stuffing between, and they are tasty little devils. The author was a chatty pleasure to meet, we got a signed book and admired the store. The stock is small but diverse, and we liked the feeling. We’d be proud to come by regularly if we lived in te neighborhood.
