Solid grocery if you’re visiting the Rockland area. Steeper prices for staples(e.g. crackers, canned soup), but they do sell local bread, donuts, and have a deli. Good selection of spices if you’re vacationing and need to pick something up real quick. Service is very friendly.

I was driving through Thomaston and wanted to stop at the Thomaston Café. Turns out they were closed(it was well after lunch and well before dinner), but as luck would have it, I stumbled upon this little place. What a find. Everything was reasonably priced by my standards(I am from near Boston) and I got an amazing sub for just over $ 6 as memory serves. It was a Tuna sub, and was made perfectly, and they didn’t skimp. I don’t know if this is the usual, but I have to assume it was as the girl seemed to be seasoned and not a noob. I grabbed a few other odds and ends and got out for under $ 10. I love this place. Definitely what the doctor ordered after a long day of hiking and getting up early. Next time in town, I will try to get to the Café, but buy a sub and pop it in the cooler. Oh yeah, I would definitely go here if looking for grillables as well. The Meat Dept by the Deli looks great!!!

Decent little small-town grocer on route 1, best known for their good meat department and freshly ground hamburger. Also they carry Amy’s Pies and you should call ahead and order one, pricey but worth it. Try the Maine blueberry pie or the Chocolate cream, they are homemade heaven. There is plenty of parking around the back of the store. Hot coffee in the morning, muffins, coffeecake. Grab n go sandwiches at lunch(there is a coffeehouse next door for sit-down lunches). They have Shains of Maine ice cream in quarts, and Gelato Fiasco pints.
