We made our annual visit to Pekarski Sausage(for the best kielbasa) and while we were selecting our meats a guy was making a delivery of pies & pastries, setting them along the top of the display cases. We couldn’t resist some blueberry danish and added it to our order. Turns out they were from another Polish gem, Tyburski’s Countryside Bakery. The danish were amazing, so we went on a mission to find the source. Thorndike/Palmer was only 30 minutes away, so we went and bought several of their items. The pastries are awesome, especially the Danish. Fruit pies are too. Prices are very reasonable and everything is fresh. It also freezes well, so we stocked up(we’re from VA). FYI, Cash only.

I went for a long drive yesterday to visit some of the places reviewed by Unilocaler’s and this was a pit stop to bring pastries home. Wonderful, kind friendly people that obviously take a great deal of pride in the«home style» country baked goods they sell. I purchased an apricot tart, apple turnover and 2 loaves of bread. The bread was/is fantastic. The apricot tart was good(not gourmet) and the turn-over was a bit better. if you keep in mind this is a family run, country bread(1st) then bakery you will not be disappointed in particular because it’s sooooooooo inexpensive. Even if the product was not 100% my obnoxious gourmet taste the hospitality made up for it! yes, I’d go back!

Excited to have discovered this hidden gem! A family business that’s been in operation for over 100 years, this bakery features breads such as rye, whole wheat, and pumpernickel, as well as baked goods such as blueberry and apple turnovers. Tyburski’s has antique equipment on display, like a loaf making machine. It used to supply loaves of bread to the schools in the area. Today, the baked goods can be purchased on-site or at area farmers markets. Tom Tyburski is up at 3:30am to make the goods for the day! Now that’s dedication! Reasonable prices and yummy, fresh products. I recommend checking out Tyburski’s next time you’re in the area. It is located near the Three Rivers area, soon after you exit the Pike on the way to UMass.(Just down the street is Cold Spring Orchards, operated by UMass, and also worth a visit for some delicious peaches, plums, etc.).
