Been going here for years and my feelings were always lukewarm, they were just conveniently close to home. Today I went to the cashier and one of the items didn’t have a item number, so she called for a number. After she rang up the order, I gave her a coupon for $ 7 off of a $ 20 purchase. She said that the coupon was no good since the $ 40 item was on sale. I asked the guy that got the item number if it was on sale and he said no. None the less, she was not going to honor the coupon or investigate. I always wanted to support the little guy against the«big boxes», but I now realize that I usually get better and friendlier service at the«big boxes».

The rascist owner followed me around like I was trying to steal stuff when I had just told one of his employees in front of him that I didn’t need help. Avoid this dump!

Run by a bunch of lazy, foul-mouthed teenage girls who would rather sit around and gossip about calling in sick to work for their boyfriends birthday than ask their patrons if they need help with anything(not that they would be of any help or even knowledgeable, for that matter) I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I have had a bad experience the last few times(3, to be exact) that I have been there, which is a shame since it is so close to home. I’ve had to wander around looking for assistance to get keys cut and even sat at the paint section for over 20 minutes while they sat chatting(throwing around F bombs) 3 feet in front of me. HELLO? I know you saw me walk in and go to the paint section because you waved and greeted me when I walked in?! ANYCHANCEOFSOMEASSISTANCE? Little brats… used to love coming here. Will take my business elsewhere.

Went to ace to return a rope that I purchased at another ace store in south denver. I was informed that I could not return it because they have different owners. The lady was very rude and had no customer service skills, just staring at me until I left. Please be careful if deciding to buy something from ace hardware.

I know how measure a pipe and how to measure the thread size… One hour later and lots of attitude and disgust i finally got my pipe for my hose reel. I gave him my old pipe and said that I need a carbon copy that’s all… An hour later and five pipes later I got what i needed.

Used to be great service-got in and out faster than you can park at big box hardware. Now very unhelpful or unknowledgeable staff. Today we got«what’s a framing nail?» Seriously? And refusal to cut present keys. Hey incompetent staff! Everyone else does it!!! Go to lowes or Home Depot or the ace on 104th east federal. Sooo much better

I really like this Ace and the people that work there. They alway seem to magically have what I need every time. I’ve got lots of advice from them, especially in the plumbing world. Ace destroys Home Depot from a customer service perspective.

I love this little hardware store. Sometimes, you just need someone of help you. One of the main problems I have with Home Depot and Lowe’s is that no one comes up immediately and asks if you need help. Here, someone welcomes you fairly quickly, and takes you directly to your item. I don’t mind paying a little more for that. Plus, parking is quick and you enjoy a store that carries other things for the home. It is more homeowner friendly than contractor friendly. You also don’t have to buy several hundred nails or screws when you just need a few.

Just a quickie here, since 1 Ace Hardware is usually the same as the next. I went in looking for a strange bolt for a motorcycle brake caliper and lo and behold, a fella named Tiny found the exact bolt I needed. 3 bucks later and we’re out the door. I don’t think there’s any better at matching up fasteners and having what you need. I go here for most stuff before heading to big box home improvement stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot.

I’ve been a fan of Ace and patronize them whenever I can. I find their selection to be descent and the prices competitive. LIke Joshua G points out, the prices can be significantly lower at other locations, so just like anything else, shop around if you’re going to drop a bit of cash here. This Ace recently reduced its size, so some of the stock isn’t as easily laid out as it was before-it’s still a useful shop. Most of the time, if I’ve needed help I can find an employee, and sometimes(especially Sundays) they can be involved with other customers. Can’t say I’ve been treated rudely. Most of the time you can help yourself to the stock and select what you need. The real deal comes with propane tanks. They fill by weight so you get a true amount and I think it’s buy 5 get one free. Not too bad. I like to think that I’m supporting a local business by shopping here, so I make a point of shopping for home improvement supplies here first.

This place is nothing pretty to look at. As part of an outdated shopping mall, it does very little to establish itself as a national chain compared to a crappy hole-in-the-wall hardware shop. Nevertheless… I went in the other day and needed many many bolts and screws and nuts and washers to replace those on my ’65 Ford I am restoring. I didn’t know a damn about where to find my parts within their massive selection. An employee, older gentlemen, came over to help me out. I was reluctant at first because I figured he was just going to treat me like some moron but the guy was so genuine and helpful; I couldn’t believe it. I showed him piece after piece and he searched for and replaced everything I needed. He talked to me about the benefits of one over the other and truly spoke with passion and knowledge. I look forward to going back– even though I would prefer the atmosphere of a Lowes. Not all of their employees are gems but the customer service I received last week was amazing. And the online parts stores can suck it. They wanted $ 100+ to replace $ 23 worth of hardware I bought at Ace.

Why do I succumb myself to such low quality service and all. It just gets worse!!! I mean really I keep saying this is the last time, but want so badly to make this work for me since it is so close to home, but I am thinking that instead of me wasting my anger on this I’d be better off driving and dealing with people in traffic on my way to Lowes. I asked why the price was so different from the actual store website to the clerk and from the background, another employee blurted out«BLURTED» that it is a national website and all the prices are different. I was like okay then thanks you RUDE A$$. The only reason I went back was I had a 5.00 coupon, but really it turned out to be a 5.00 coupon plus a complimentary cup of a$$holism all in one. This place sucks!!! If I could give negative stars I would.
