Powerhouse Gym Thornton

Went in not knowing what to expect but was very surprised to see how big the place was. They worked with my husband and I so we could afford it which was amazing they gave us zero hassle. Gym itself is great, clean and quiet. During Business hours they get busy but if you can wait till 8:30−9 pm it’s perfect. People in the gym are average people so no need to be insecure everyone is there for the same reason to work out not show off and flirt.

I was visiting Denver on a 3 day business trip and did not like the workout facilities at my hotel. I found this place and decided to see how it was. It was everything I was looking for.
Right when I walked in, a nice employee named Sara greeted me and gave me a tour of the gym. She was very knowledgeable about the gym and it’s member’s demographic. She asked me questions about my workout habits and the goals I want to achieve. It felt good to see she wasn’t hurrying me up to sign up for a membership and cared about what level of fitness is best for me.
The gym is open 24 hours for it’s members which is great for people who feel there is not enough hours in the day for work, family, and themselves. It was clean and the equipment was very nice. All the cardio equipment had their own LCD TV screens you can watch while exercising. If I lived in Denver, this would be the gym I would love to be a member of.
I told Sara that I was just in Denver on business. I was scared that her reaction would be that she just wasted all her time on someone who wasn’t even looking to be a member of the gym. I was shocked that she said I could use the gym whenever I wanted for the rest of my trip… Free for the first day and $ 8 for a day fee after. It was totally worth it.
What a great gym and staff!!! I highly recommend any gym rat that lives in Denver to seriously consider this fitness facility.

I joined this gym after being spoiled for a few years with usage of a fitness center at my work campus that was both free and often times empty. After that center was closed, I had to find a new facility and Denver Gym and Fitness was the «winner».
I love that I can work out at this location 24 hours a day, using my scan card to access the site. Although this facility appears small from the outside, it is quite large once you go inside, with locker rooms and showers for both men and women, a room for stretching, quite a few treadmills, elliptical riders, and stationary bikes, plus all the machines and free weights (dumbbells up to 110 pounds each) one could ask for. They even have a Smith machine, a squat rack, a leg press machine, and a hack squat machine (1 of each).
This facility is clean, all the cardio machines have built-​in LCDs (so that you can watch TV while you «run on the hamster wheel»), the staff is friendly, and the location is easy to get in and out of, with minimal crowds to deal with.
This facility is not for you if you are looking for a basketball court, swimming pool, racquetball court, loads of fitness classes, or the dating scene.
But if you want a no-​frills gym that allows you to get your heart rate increasing and waist size decreasing, Denver Gym and Fitness is a match.

I’ve been spoiled by large gyms in the past so I was initially skeptical about a smaller local gym. That said, it did not disappoint. This local gym is big enough to handle groups, but stays pretty quiet. It has the right weights for a lifting enthusiast and great individual TV’s on all the cardio for the aerobic fans. If I could give 4.5 stars I would, only because the price is a little steep, but if you wait for the mailers they give great discounts.

Used to be powerhouse Gym and a nice quiet alternative to bigger gyms but the word got out. Great atmosphere!
