I travel to Thousand Oaks once a month for an appointment. We stop at the Corner Bakery here every time for breakfast. Food is always good, staff is always great. Shout out to Wilbert– very friendly and welcoming!

Food is always ok, but the rewards program needs help, seems they start the program no one had asked me to scan the barcode ever! If you forget to ask, they have to void your receipt and recharge you again, PANERA’s rewards all you need is your phone number, if you forget you can use the panera app to add it back, simple and easy!

5 stars for food. 3(maybe 2) for service. At one time they had a great manager who really had it together, but not any more and certainly not before her(wish I could remember her name). The gentleman who serves and cleans up is great. Name might be Jose(so sorry I don’t remember it and I don’t think he has a name badge). He’s friendly and efficient. The cashiers are just lacking in skill. The current manager appeared to be trying on my last visit, but ugh. It. Took. So. Long. And, I had tried for 10 minutes and 3 phone calls to order in advance. This place could be great. Too bad the humans can’t get it together. The owners don’t appear to take much ownership and properly train their managers and employees. It’s too bad. It’s still one of my favorites but very frustrating.(At least they had cinnamon muffins — my very favorite– typically they are out very early). Oh and I recommend the Anaheim panini for breakfast, but add salsa!

Good food but the 2 stars is for a lack of customer service. I work in the industry and know how stressful it can be but when there are less than 10 guests in the restaurant you can focus on taking an order and not constantly walking away to check on other orders. Also another customer was asking how much longer for his food after waiting who knows how long and was ignored when he asked for a specific amount of time the food would be ready in. Also the large overhead menu showed my favorite item but i was told it was no longer available. The menu boards should always be updated when changes are made. Just made you feel like a nuisance. And that’s why I dont go more than once a year.

Been coming here since they opened. Not sure what has changed. Took 15 minutes for a panini. When it finally came, it tasted rubbery and microwaved.

This is one of our staple places to go for a cup of soup and a salad or half a sandwich. Been going there for years — since our grandson was quite young and always craving their mac & cheese. One of the busboy/runners has been with them many years and always stopped by our table with a big smile and acknowledgement of how our AG was growing. We always look for him to say hello. The food quality is generally good, with very fresh salads and tasty soups. Occasionally a sandwich might be a bit dry or lacking in some flavor. But overall, we usually leave satisfied with the service and food. This location has a nice open layout inside, and a cozy patio area outside. They keep changing up the menu with seasonal choices, which keeps it interesting.

So amazing. Wilbert is absolutely an incredible employee. He goes over and beyond with people. The food is great and love coming here.

Perfect place to go for lunch to have a nice combo of delicious food. The sandwiches are big and easily split between 2 people. The pretzel bread is awesome and fantastic alone or as a sandwich. The side salad is standard but paired great with the sandwich and chips. Also, each sandwich comes with a pickle and for me that bumps it to 4 stars. The service is good and the staff is nice. They have a nice patio to enjoy your food on or the option to dine inside. All of their sandwiches, panini, soups, salads are delicious.

I loved coming to this place but things have changed. They advised they are under new management. They are cutting in ever way they can. You can no longer get regular bacon on the side not cut up. You only get bacon bits. They acknowledged because of portion size they are able to save. Potato O’Brien is no longer the same. It’s just potato and onion. Coffee NOT good! Had to return. No flavored creamer. Who does not have flavored creamer any more? They nickel and dime you for everything. If they get something wrong instead of apologizing, they literally take it off your plate with their hand or take your whole plate and make you wait again. This is based on several visits which I was hoping would get better but seems worse every time we come. I hope management reads this. It’s not to criticize. It to help you improve because I really enjoyed this place and would like to continue to come back.

The staff amazing and deserves 5 stars, the food is great but not amazing, I would give it 3.5 stars. The restroom was not very clean and looked tired, 1.5 stars, and the dining room looks shabby and really needs to be upgraded(1 star.) That’s an average of 3 stars. I really hope they will improve the dining room and restroom situation, I would love to go in more often.

This place is the bakery version of «Cheers» in Thousand Oaks. Everyone knows your name. Super friendly staff and good food. I go there at least once or twice a week.

Food was tasty, but I was expecting more pesto on my pesto chicken sandwich. I did not get a picture of the sandwich. Most of the Unilocal pics are beautiful — and appear to be from the employees. I didn’t see any food that looked like that! When I got a drink(water) I asked for a cup that would take a lid. Hate to admit it, but I wasted six lids from the well-stocked 8 or 9 different stacks of lids trying to find one that fit. Had to ask an employee for one — which he brought from behind the counter. My big issue is the baked goods, all beautifully displayed, but totally unprotected. Between the products and the customers, they have a symbolic sneeze guard, but not at all protective. Placing an order with the cashier is done directly above the products. And nothing at all protects the goodies from the employees. I noticed several air conditioner vents directly above the whole area. Considering the dust pictures show on Unilocal,I was even more dismayed. When I pointed this out to the manager, I got nothing more than«that’s how we do it.»

After an unexpected situation impacted our ability to serve AM coffee to our members, last week around 6pm I phoned the Corner Bakery to see if there was any way they could deliver 12 gallons of coffee at 7am the next day. The manager was WONDERFUL and immediately assured me they could assist. 5 minutes later the order was taken care of and the coffee was delivered promptly at 7am the next day. Thank you Corner Bakery for saving the day!

In the past I would’ve given this location a 3 star, based on a few really good dishes and the fact that I can wi-fi here. But today I came in and everything seems different. All the goodies are well stocked and on display, and they look better than they ever have in the past. I ordered my coffee and favorite breakfast and the whole order was delivered to my table in 5 minutes! And they even have a great assortment of bagels you can have instead of toast – that’s new! Plus the staff are all quick, cheerful and there are several more people than in the past. They even came by to check on me at my table. I’m moving them up to the 5 star club today! Hope the changes all stick. :)

Corner bakery is a hit or miss. Not really a fan of their baked goods and the hot coffee can be a bit burnt. I do like their blended coffees and the service was nice. Cute location, clean, well kept.

With purchase of a drink, you can’t beat the all-you-drink freshly brewed ice tea, so while I was there for a business lunch, I was able to chat freely and verbosely because I was properly quenched! I’ve been to a handful of other CBC’s(that’s how I roll), and enjoy the salads, the breakfast, and the sandwiches. But perhaps the best thing is the baked goods. But do I think of the Corner Bakery Café often? No. There not the first in any category, so almost every place comes to mind. This is a default, but the place does the trick. Location specific: Thousand Oaks — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — It’s a smallish location in, where else, a mini mall. The standout for this place is the service… very nice, efficient, and competent. By reading the recent reviews, they have put some attention to this.

Downgrading review as their WiFi is unreliable and slow. Their excuse was that a lot of people must be on it but unfortunately that doesn’t remedy the issue. Although there are hundreds of restaurants in the local area, Corner Bakery is on a very short list of «go to» places where when we want a selection of solid, generally healthy foods(e.g. we’re tired of pizza and burgers). My kids enjoy the pasta, turkey sandwiches, grilled panini and other menu items and I treat them to a baked good like lemon cake and whoopie pies for dessert if they are well behaved. The kids menu I feel is a good value for what you get. I enjoy the chopped salad, caprese sandwich, various soups, the tri-salad medley and tonight thoroughly enjoyed something new — the Spicy Asia Pork Sandwich — damn this sandwich was absolutely delicious and is what prompted me to finally write a Unilocal review. I feel I get a solid overall value here — solid food, pretty darn consistent, for fair prices. It is not perfect. More often than not, there are mistakes on our order, to the point I make sure to keep the receipt. But they always fix any problems promptly and are nice about it. Often when we get there mid-afternoon to nighttime there are tables with piled up dishes and trash — particularly outside. Kind of annoying but rarely has much impact on our ability to get a table.
