Call Robert Irvine! This place needs help. The restaurant was nearly empty at 6PM on a Sunday evening and, well, there’s a reason for that. Yikes, this place is dated. Fake flowers on the table and it just does not appear to be clean. Other reviews mentioned«flat» soda and you can add to «flat» and«odd tasting». The waitress explains this as «because it’s from the bar and the mix is for drinks not pop for drinking». Not kidding, that was just about verbatim what she said. There are fake flowers on the old wooden tables which would be best described as well worn. Linen on the table was white with green napkins, not that there’s anything wrong with green, it just did not match. We ordered two steaks, both medium rare. One was a Rib Eye the other was a NY Strip. Of the 16oz Rib Eye perhaps only ½ was edible, the rest was fat grizzle. It was served with good grill marks but the temperature was closer to medium than medium rare. The steak was seasoned and no sauce was necessary. IT was served with a small baked potato(chives, sour cream and butter). The NY strip was a disaster, it fact it was not even a NY strip. It looked like another Rib Eye. The temperature was also medium. We did not stay for dessert, we just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Sorry, this place needs a make over and /or to be shut down!!! Pass them by —

My family has been going to Corrigan’s since before I can even remember. I hold this place near and dear to my heart. All of the old pictures, movie posters, and western memorabilia are fun to look at and if you are waiting for the BBQ on Saturday it is nice to have some things to look at as you wait. My family gets the chicken strips with the spicy sauce and the fried clams EVERY time we go. All the staff are very friendly and we are always seated promptly. Ulysses is our favorite waiter probably of all time at any restaurant. Would definitely recommend trying this place out.

Service is always exceptional. Ulysses is the most awesome waiter. Food is great but the big surprise was their onion rings, Light batter made for a heavenly treat!

We have passed this restaurant several times and decided to give it a try. We were seated quickly but it took a while to put a drink order in since there was only 1 server for 7 tables. We didn’t even have a sip of our drink when we heard a lady scream from a few tables over. She jumped up from her chair as she saw a cockroach walking on her table. That was all we needed and we were out the door.

This place has a nice feel to it. It’s Western style with lots of movie memorabilia from the Corriginville set with is now a hiking trail out in Simi Valley. The service is always great! I’ve came for Breakfast & Lunch. Now I can’t wait to try there dinner here with my Wife

I was getting my car fixed at a shop down the street a couple months ago and I ended up walking to Corrigan’s because I was in the mood for some steak. I got there in time so their breakfast menu was still available so I was able to get a 16 oz. steak with eggs and hasbrowns and all the fixings for less than $ 20 bucks! I must admit I was skeptical about the steak because of the low price but when I got the food delivered it was a great tasting steak and cooked MR just as I had asked! I hate well done meat and a lot of cooks at restaurants don’t know how to cook MR properly. Service was prompt and friendly and I did not feel bothered or rushed to leave the restaurant at a certain time because I was hanging out waiting for the car guy to call me about my car. I could overhear the bartender(who was also my server) talking to the other patrons of the restaurant like they were family and must come in there often. That is always a good sign! I also loved the rustic interior of the restaurant although the booths could be a little more comfortable. My dad lives in Newbury Park and the next time we want a steak dinner we will come here!

Went to Corrigan’s on an empty Sunday night. Only 2 parties were seated in the dining area and about a half dozen patrons at the bar watching the football game. We went to the front to get seated and waited for about 5 – 10 minutes before the bartender/waiter/busboy finally acknowledged us and said he’d be «right with us.» Another ten minutes of waiting, the bartender kept tending bar and ignored us so we ended up walking out. On our way out we noticed multiple tables that were still not bussed and cleaned. If the front of the house looks like that, I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. We drove a mile down the street to Outback and were seated and served promptly. Save your time and money and just drive down the street like we did.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world. When you go here, leave 2015 on the doorstep – it’s a throwback to the classic themed restaurants of the 60s and 70s. There’s Hollywood western memorabilia everywhere as the owner’s father was Ray«Crash» Corrigan of western movie fame and proprietor of Corriganville up in Simi Valley(the old site is still a great place to visit and hike). My father recently passed away, this was my favorite place to bring him when we were in the area, and my family took me here for my birthday dinner. We loved the food. It turned out that our waitress was Mrs Corrigan and she went out of her way to find me a piece of chocolate cake. My personal favorite are the chili cheese fries – incredible. Thank you and happy trails!

The only reason I am giving this place a 3 star review is because the atmosphere is great. There is an open Piano that anyone can just jump on and play… However, the service was less than mediocre and my 20 $ steak medium-well when asked for rare-medium rare. It was chewy and flavorless. The pulled pork sandwich was decent but nothing to write home about. And, come her for lunch and your only choices for sides are garlic bread and fries. The Stella was good. Not coming back here any time soon…

Petit Steak was cooked to perfection and son enjoyed it immensely. I had the BBQ Chicken — delicious, juicy and reasonable portion. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Only downside was choosing seating. We were invite to sit pretty much anywhere because it was quiet(Wednesday night). Initially I chose a window table by the neon«Open» sign but it and the window sill were very dirty with dead and live bugs. Move to the next closest window table which was just fine. I like the décor for something casual, family style. Not suitable for a business meal IMO. I will definitely visit again with family. The value for money and quality of food is simply perfect.

The dinner started off with absolutely no air conditioning. Then it continued with two flat soda fountain drinks followed by being completely out of ribs. The rest of dinner was fine. The garlic bread was terrific and the barbecue chicken was outstanding! However when it was time for dessert, expectations fell way below and we were horrified! My daughter ordered a slice of chocolate cake and to her surprise there was MOLD all over it!!! The waitress FAILED to notice!!! By the waitresses’ reaction, it appears it might have happened before. She was kind enough to bring a new and fresh slice. The entrées were good but I do not think we will be coming back.

This place has been in TO for ever, my grandparents would come once or twice a month in what was Corrigans better days. I’m sorry Tom but you need to bring the restaurant into the present. The history is all well and good but it’s a little much and really really needs a good cleaning as well. OMG the tables so need to be replaced. Under the tablecloth is a horrible table top(picture will be posted) and it’s not just one. Makes you wonder about the health safety of the place. My boyfriend and I walked in about 6:45 on a Sunday and there might have been 15 people including us in the whole place which didn’t surprise me. We both ordered ice tea which was a mistake as it tasted like it was made yesterday, yes we could have said something but chose not to. Looking over the menu was interesting as well. Yes there’s steak and seafood what caught my attention was the single pasta dish for $ 10 and change, if you wanted to add chicken it was $ 6 extra. Really? $ 6 more for maybe a whole chicken breast? Ok on to the steak we ordered. My BF ordered 20oz and it comes with a baked potato and beans. He likes his steak medium rare, which it was not, it was medium well, no pink to be seen anywhere and the beans tasted like chili, and the potato easily fit in the palm of my hand. I had the petite steak which most certainly was petite. Seasoning on both was just ok. Need to do a little more than just salt, pepper and light charcoal flavor. All and all not impressed

Outstanding food, drinks and service. «A» rating from the Health Dept on the entire premises and always has been. Super clean dining room with lot’s of old school steakhouse character and flavor. Serious kitchen: Steak Coulot is our favorite. Limited availability and popular on busy nights so either call ahead or roll in early. Something for everyone menu. If there’s something about your meal that’s amiss let them know. The servers will gladly make it better or replace it. Otherwise kwitcherbitchin. If you want to blow your paycheck at Maestros more power to ya. If you want to keep most your paycheck and have excellent food dine at Corrigans. Local celebrities regularly spotted here; Van Halen families, singer Meatloaf, my neighbor Donnie Wahlberg and family, Heather Locklear & family, Western writer and History channel wild west commentator UCLA Prof Roger McGrath, the mothers of the Red Hot Chili Peppers band members have their after golf lunch here each week, TV and sports celebs to numerous to list, Val Kilmer sneaks in for a quick lunch and brew when he’s in the area tending to and riding his horses(sits at a table near the rear entrance his m/c parked right outside the door.), ya never know who you’ll spot. Past Hollywood stars and sports celebs that loved Corrigans; Dandy Don Meredith, Tom Landry, Ken«Festus» Curtis, Doug McClure, Gail Davis, Stuart Whitmore, Ben Johnson, MGM star Virginia O’brien and her best pal Barbara Stanwyck were regulars, Mickey Rooney, the list goes on and on. You can still get the good food, service and atmosphere they came in for. Real cowboys dine and drink here so the language can get loud and blue at times. Relax, they’re gentle, genuine souls with their hearts in the right place. Excellent bar with a superb wine selection and stiff cocktails: Walk in, pass out.

First, I need to say that I Can’t understand why I did not try this place before. I am living in the area for a few years, passed in front of the restaurant many times, but never went in. What a mistake! So anyway, Easter Sunday late evening, 7:30 pm, and we want to get the family out to dinner. We decided to Try Corrigan’s but weren’t sure they are open. A quick call to the restaurant asking if they are, confirmed that although they had a long Easter day, they are still open. So we got in the car and went over, arriving around 8:15 pm. When we arrived, the place was empty. One more couple that was finishing dinner, but that’s all. So we asked the staff if we can still sit down and they said yes. All team members were extremely pleasant and welcoming. A few words about the décor that seems to get some of the not-so-favorable reviews on Unilocal.Yes, it is somewhat old fashioned but it is part of what makes this restaurant different than other places. It is full of character and history and is not, in any way, off putting. So we went to ordering. For starters we got some kids favorites, onion rings and potato skins, both very good. The kids loved them and so did we. For the main courses, we went with the Petite Steak Dinner, a rib-eye, both prepared medium rare. The kids went with burgers(one plain and one chili). Everything was cooked perfectly, very flavorful and juicy. I have had many a-rib-eyes in my life, including in some highly regarded steakhouses around the country, and I can say that the rib-eye was very, very good, nicely marbled and had a very distinct rib-eye flavor. The wife really enjoyed her steak as well. The kids that are always leaving something on the plates, wiped them clean this time. After tasting the chili burger, I can understand why. It was really good. By the time we were finished with our main courses, we were very happy. We asked for the check and were, again, very surprised with a very reasonable price, for all of the above and 4 beers. We even forgot to use our coupon :-D Eating on the other side of the street, in Outback, would cost the same(if not more) for very average food. Corrigan’s is 10 times better! It is a real steak house and not a steak house wannabe. Yes, you might be able to get better steaks at some fancier steakhouses but you would end up paying 3 – 4 times more for dinner. This is, by far, the best value for money I had in a steakhouse for years. So what’s the bottom line: 1. Very nice place with a lot of character. 2. Great service. 3. Excellent steaks and burgers. 4. Extremely reasonable price. You can enjoy a family dinner, without breaking the bank. What a great surprise. Now we have to try out the breakfast and lunch!

Corrigan’s Steakhouse has a really cool western interior. It’s worth going here at least once to check it out. However, the food is just okay. I tend to judge steak places by their ribeye, and Corrigan’s ribeye wasn’t bad, but it didn’t have a lot of flavor. Their sherry mushroom chicken was a bit underwhelming as well. So I suggest going to this restaurant to see the truly unique western artifacts, but don’t expect to get the best food in the world.

The way steak, potatoes and service should be like. It isn’t an upscale five star restaurant, which I dislike. This is a great western style steakhouse. The quality is in the food and service. it is designed for the mega carnivores. I would rather have great food with paper napkins than a waiter asking if I would like gluten free water and dolphin safe napkins. Great movie memorabilia Throughout. Tasty meat. If it is too rare, they put it back on the grill without question. Pasta is tasty, as are the chicken strips. It is a place for steaks, however, it is much better than the olive garden. They have hunts ketchup. I prefer Heinz. my only complaint. Iced tea is American. None of those fruity flavors. I forgot to mention the homemade chili. The kind that will plug up a radiator.(Thats a good thing). I dip the garlic bread in it as I keep asking for more loaves. I had the pleasure of sitting next to the owner at the bar waiting for my takeout from a bad experience at outback steakhouse moments earlier. We were having man talk over Ford and Chevy with another patron. Felt like I have known him for years. This is the kind of place that needs to appreciated instead of the big box restaurant’s. I will be bringing my family back over and over for many years to come. Brought my kids in and a baby. Very family friendly as staff interactions with them are inviting. Never felt being rushed.

This was a nice little gem I found while getting my car serviced nearby. We happened to get in right at happy hour(3−6pm?) and we had quite the feast! Appetizer menu was half off and all beers, well drinks, and margaritas were around ~$ 4. The garlic bread was buttery and fresh and we ended up ordering basket after basket. At $ 1.50/order –why not? The rib appetizer was good and went really well with the bottle of Corrigan’s Bar-B-Que sauce. The bill came out to $ 24 for two full bellies with a couple beers! I think this place is getting a bad rap because it was kind of empty, but we absolutely loved the peaceful atmosphere and the great service and attention from our bartender. It seems as though many of the customers are regulars and know the owner. It kind of makes you feel at home. Definitely going back for happy hour!

If you’re looking to take a step back in time this is the steakhouse for you to visit. I walked in on a Tuesday evening about 530 and was the only person in the dining area. There were about five individuals sitting at the bar. The place is covered with cowboy memorabilia. It is like a blast to the past. You could spend an hour or two looking at all of the cool looking things on the walls. I was promptly seated and waited on. After reviewing the menu I ordered fillet mignon and a side salad with blue cheese. While I was waiting for my meal I had a blue moon. If you go to the tips section of this restaurant you will see I took complete photo journal of my entire meal and my beer. While I was waiting for my meal I tried to use the jukebox. Stuck some money in it and it didn’t work. The bartender was very polite and helpful and help trying to get it started and refunded my money. My side salad with blue cheese was just your ordinary run-of-the-mill side salad. My dinner was delivered and had a nice fillet mignon a small bowl of baked beans and a baked potato. In addition they served a basket with one slice of garlic bread. One of the things I really like about this restaurant is they served the toppings for your baked potato such as butter chives etc. on the side in bowls. I was able to put as much or as little as I liked. There was plenty available to fill my potato. The baked potato was just your average size baked potato it wasn’t one of the large ones that you get it some steakhouse. It was wrapped in foil when it arrived. The baked beans had a slight smoky taste to them along with some celery they were very tasty and quite enjoyable the serving size was very small. The fillet mignon that I ordered was medium I would say that was probably a little overcooked. It was a little smaller than the size of my fist. It had excellent color and excellent taste throughout it was very tender. The restaurant look clean and the seat that I sat in was next to the window by the street and I was able to enjoy all the different decorations that they had throughout. About 6 o’clock more family started arriving. When I finished my meal there were probably about five tables being served at that time. The place had a great personality. I would highly recommend stopping in to be able to see all the neat things and grabbing a bite to eat. The price of my entire meal along with the beer was 38.85. I would say this was a little high-priced for this type of meal that I received. I would say the meal was about eight dollars overpriced. I’m glad I stopped and was able to see all the neat looking cowboy stuff had a meal that was enjoyable. I’m not sure who poured my beer the bartender or the server but they need to learn for those prices that they shouldn’t put an inch and a half head on there so that when the head goes down it is a very short poor. Stop in and see some great cowboy stuff. Next time I am through Thousand Oaks hopefully I will have my family with me and I will stop in again to show them some of the things from the past.
