I eat here at lunch most days. If you Instagram, something comes up that says Newbury Park Hawaii. I can see the mountain from the picnic table and can close my eyes and pretend I’m in Hawaii, so I appreciate someone doing the same. But there’s no beach, or Mai Tai’s and 7 – 11 doesn’t have Kona Coffee. But you know, quite pleasant and it’s nice to be outside.

Conejo Parks and Rec operates some lovely parks and some fun programs, but Pepper Tree Playfield is one of my favorite parks. It has a «vita course» around the park that has basic equipment(pull up bars, sit up benches, etc.) so that you can get your workout on. It’s a busy park with softball fields, grassy practice fields, bbq area, and a playground. Running a loop around the park is just under a mile, but if you run it in a figure 8 by running between the playfields you’ll get to a mile. I like that there are people walking dogs, kids practicing all matters of sports(lacrosse, soccer, etc.), and joggers at the park. Even better is the prevailing breeze. It can get quite toasty in Newbury Park, but in the late afternoon, the hills and trees provide good shade and the park gets a really nice breeze, making it very comfortable for all those sporty activities.
