The food was authentic and left you feeling like you were a guest in someone’s home. The taste was fresh and I didn’t feel bloated after pigging out. The owner was also very sweet.

Great food, found this while perusing Unilocal and seeing the reviews. Really delicious and fresh food, engaging and friendly owner. Excellent addition to area and nice change of food type. Highly recommend. Got the lulah kabob, really good quality and quantity of food.

The louleh is the best louleh I ever tasted. Best Persian food in California. I recommend everyone to go there and try it. Great food, great people and real traditional Persian food

Totally outstanding. The rice was fluffy and not dry, the chicken was so juicy and flavorful, derive was good. Only complaint was the heat — it’s smokey in there and HOT!

About a year ago we added this place to our re-do list of restaurants we would like to go back to. We have been there a few times since. My wife especially loves the rice. Me, the filet mignon kabobs. Hate to say, but the rice is different now and very ordinary. They also no longer make the filet kabobs anymore though it is still on the menu. Was encouraged to try the luleh, a lamb and chicken(?) meat blend. It was spongey(think scrapple but without the hair) and super greasy. Unfortunately, this restaurant has been removed from our re-do list.

Guy was pretty rude when I went in. I’m sure he’s been fired by now so I won’t press that issue too much. He was reading some text book for his community college course instead of helping us. So, there’s no doubt he’s off to bigger and better things by now. God’s speed, friend. Anyway, I ordered shawarma, which I assumed would be cut off from one of those spinning meat cones but we got greasy ground chicken in rice. I hate ground chicken, especially when I expect something real and normal.

I am a fan of the saffron rice and yoghurt dill sauce that they give in here. My husband loves mediterranean food and this is his favorite mediterranean restaurant. We visit this place quite often and I highly recommend everyone to go to rokabab for the best mediterranean food experience.

It’s the best Mediterranean in Thousand Oaks. In fact, the best in the Conejo Valley!!! If you like Chicken Shawarma — this is your place! Enjoy ~

Was introduced to RoKabab by a dear friend and have to say THANKS each time I come here. not only is the food wonderful but so is the service and attention to detail. The owner and staff is extremly pleasant/outgoing and make sure you leave happy. Chicken Kabab is Awseome. I get it with Salad but my kids love th white basmati rice. Dressing and Spicy sauce is off the hook great. I also tried their Eggplant/babaganoush and it was awesome also. Just started to eat there last week and alrewdy been there more than 3 times and headign there now to make it 2 times in one day. Definitely a must if you like great food. Simple and clean for heahtly lifestyle. Value pricing! dont know of many places you can eat well with great quality ingredients for under $ 10.

This place had been a bookmark of mine for a while. It is a Mediterranean grill, but it has Persian influences as the owner is a former famous Persian singer. Naturally, I wanted to try it, being half Persian myself. I wanted to try as much as possible so I got the salad with all the toppings(free with the salad), with the veggie option so I can try all of three their sides, white dill sauce, AND a luleh kabob on the side for $ 3 more. I have to say, this has to be some sort of menu hack, and probably the cheapest way to try a lot from the menu($ 12), as sides do not come with the meat options and only include one topping. Oh and it also comes with pita bread. It seemed as if I picked up food to go on a night when the staff and owner seemed quite flustered. It didn’t seem terribly busy, but maybe they had a lot of to go orders. However, I didn’t have to wait too long and I will stipulate to receiving an extra kabob on the house. The owner is very friendly, and the food is delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that I ordered.

Had the Chicken Kabob plate with rice, hummus, and pita bread. The chicken was juicy and delicious. I also enjoyed the rice and the yogurt dill sauce. I was not a fan of their take on hummus. The young guy working here was super nice and polite.

That chicken shawarma was unreal. HIGHLY recommend the jalapeño sauce unless you’re white then don’t even bother. Just sayin’. Easily the best shawarma in Ventura County. I already know I’m addicted. Great service as well. 5ALLDAY, SON!

I have a new go spot for Persian food in Thousand Oaks. Let me preface this by saying that I have yet to find a place in Ventura County that holds a candle to any Persian place east of Calabasas. That is… Until now. The ambiance is cute… Gives the feel of being in an outdoor venue with all the lighting being provided by what look like tree branches coming out of the walls covered in Christmas lights. Nice new furniture with a fresh feel. The service was grade A. The owner, Siavash, was super friendly and very chatty(not in a bad way). Maybe it was because we’re both Persian… But I doubt it, he just seemed like a friendly guy. The kind of owner that will remember your name and your orders and recommend what you should try next. Also, I ordered my food on the eat24 Unilocal app… Convenient as can be. It’s a digital world baby! The Food was fantastic! I ordered the chicken kabob plate with a side of tabouli. The chicken was perfectly cooked: moist, tender, melt in your mouth, and seasoned to perfection. Granted, the chicken portion was a little small and left me wanting more, but at the price point I wasn’t expecting to be stuffed silly. The rice was good, but typical of Ventura county: doesn’t quite stack up to LA Persian places. The tabouli was another hit! The proportions were just right and blended beautifully with nothing overpowering anything else. The owner hooked it up with two sauces as well, the yogurt dill and the Med red sauce. Both were good, but the chicken was so well seasoned neither were necessary. 5 Stars! Can’t wait to come back and try the other menu items. Side note: a little disappointed they don’t have salad shirazi.

My sister suggested this place for dinner on a Saturday night. It’s in the same plaza where Titled Kilt is for you gents who know where that is: P It was not too busy, but that was ok. Five of us came to eat. We ordered the Family Meal which came with four different styles of meat. You have your choice of chicken, beef, beef+lamb, however, we decided for all chicken since my family is not a red meat fan. The meal included hummus, pita bread, some sort of green stuff. The main course was more pita bread, yellow jasmin rice, and chicken kababs and chicken shawarmas. This was a huge plate with lots of meat and rice. It was enough to feed four/five people. We even had some left over for home. The hummus wasn’t that much, neither were any vegetables. That would have completed the plate or some sort of salad. In addition, the pita bread was ok, not the greatest. At least a little warmth should have been added to the bread. Other than that, it is a lot of food and for $ 40 bucks + tax, not a bad deal. Service was great too, many suggestions given by the man behind the register. Overall: Great food, Great service, Great price

My husband and I came in to check out this new establishment today. We decided to get the family feast for takeout. My husband discussed this with the owner on the phone prior to arriving, as the $ 29.99 deal for the grand opening was no longer available, the owner agreed to give an extra side for the now $ 39.99 deal. The owner said the order came with 2 sauces. We ordered 2 Luleh kabob, 1 white chicken kabob, 1 dark chicken kabob, 1 steak shawarma, and 1 chicken shawarma.(Owner said he won’t charge us the extra dollar for the white chicken kabob or the steak Shawarma) The sides were Hummus, Baba ghanoush, Tabouli(free side) The sauces were White garlic sauce, Yogurt dill sauce. We also bought their homemade triple dark chocolate pudding cookie at $ 2.95. This cookie is soft and decadent. There seem to be two separate wait times, one for takeout and one for dining in. Two groups that ordered after us for dining in received their food before we received our take-out. We waited approximately 45 minutes after arriving for the takeout. The owner’s wife offered us some fried pita chips and dill dip towards the end of our wait. After arriving home, we realized the order did not match our original. It had two white chicken kabobs, one dark chicken kabob, one Luleh kabob, and my husband said the portions of the chopped up chicken and steak shawarmas were relatively small. The food was good, white chicken kabob tasted the best. The food is on par with some that we had in Glendale and Westwood areas. As our standard for Persian food is still«The Taste of Tehran» in West LA, this restaurant brings a familiar flair to Thousand Oaks. (this review written by my husband)

The menu is the build your own variety. You start with a base of pita, saffron basmati rice, greens, or rice and greens, and then add a protein and any number of sides, sauces and/or toppings. The portions and prices are fair all around. A group of us from the office decided to try out this new eatery and placed an order for pick-up. We were very happy. I opted for the RICEPLATE with CHICKENKABAB($ 1 extra). The pieces of charbroiled chicken marinated with saffron and other spices came out tender. For my side, I had the REDHUMMUS(red because of their signature saffron mix) and liked it. My plate included some fresh pita too. I also sampled some of the BABAGHANOUSH and their WHITEGARLICSAUCE. Thumbs up for a yummy new lunch option near work!

Rokabab is a pretty snazzy place in the tilted kilt shopping center. Service: Everyone was extremely helpful and engaging. The owner was very friendly and even provided 2 free samples of hummus and babaganoosh. He came over talked to me about Unilocal, the food, and any recommendations I had :) Food: The food was amazingly wonderful. We both had chicken kabobs which were delicious. I’m usually not a babaganoosh fan but let me tell you something. I’ll rub my body down in that isshh. oh man it’s so damn good!!! The chicken was extremely moist and flavorful. The only issue I had was i’d say it was a little pricy. Especially for a lunch. It was roughly $ 11 and some change. Décor: Very cute & rustic. Branch lighting throughout the place and a full Mediterranean color scheme Parking: Huge lot so shouldn’t be an issue anytime any day. Happy grubbing.
