The family loves this place! Large servings and quick service(unless they are slammed).

Nice new place. The interior is nice and modern rustic. Four tvs great for watching football game which is what brought my friend and I there. We had done a day hike on the Appalachian Trail and ran in to catch a game. The service was excellent but the food made me a little sad. The nachos were akin to bowling alley fare with cheese I can only guess came from a pump. The crab balls were tasty but very deeply fried. The onion rings were delicious but put 10 pounds of guilt on my shoulders and five on my waist. I really should make better choices but I could not imagine trying the foot long hot dog.

The menu is small but they serve good portions. But real attraction here are the pickled jalapeños. They’re unlike anything I’ve ever had and really delicious, and the guy was nice enough to give me a small box of them to me for free since I liked them so much. Worth a visit.

I want this place to be good as there is nothing in Thurmont. However it is ok at best. Tiny menu to start with. I was there on a Sunday and it was busy, but way too loud. There were families in there with little kids which is great, but the loud and very drunk bikers were not so fun. A drunk lady who should not have been served was standing and yelling across the bar. I was cringing for the families. No staff did anything. They serve a hotdog in a sub roll? Hey can I get a gallon of ketchup with that? The fries are odd and not good and I’m not picky about fries. I ordered a cheesesteak and most of the ingredients were not on it. Nobody asked. I paid frederick prices for a shot of whiskey served in a tiny plastic cup? Shot glass please? I can’t talk my family into going back at all. As crazy as it seems, the food was far better when it was Dales Place and that place was the ultimate dive to say the least. Unless something changes this will soon be only a bar stop without a pool table and without respectability. I just say good luck

The service was TERRIBLE!!! Some of us ordered the same thing(bacon cheeseburger) but cooked differently. Not sure any of us got the right ones. One of the burgers was BURNT to a crisp! Good thing we had good company and enjoyed spending time together because our dinner was almost 2 hours long! Also a band started playing shortly before we left. I think they could have been decent performers, but it was way too loud for the space. It was not pleasant to stay there. I will NEVER go back again!!!

Stopped by on our way home from a hike to Cunningham Falls. We started off with the soft pretzel appetizer and the pretzels were delicious! My husband ordered a sausage pizza, my son had the Italian Burger, my daughter had plain wings and I had the crab ball po’ boy. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals! We were there at an off time(around 2:30pm) and the restaurant was pretty empty. I sincerely hope they do well, because of we’re in the area, we’d definitely go back.

Excellent food. Still looks the same on the outside, but the inside has been transformed! Just beautiful! Menu is on the smaller side, but everything is well made and fresh!

Just had an excellent lunch at the Furnace Bar and Grill. Ordered the Tex Mex Burger with homemade guacamole. Apparently all the sauces are homemade. the guacamole was excellent so I can’t wait to try more. Excellent service and value. A welcome addition to the historic village of Catoctin Furnace, just south of Thurmont and across from Cunningham Falls State Park near the Catoctin Mountain Zoo!
