Have been using this place for 7 years as it is the only one in town. New ownership has installed security cameras rather than ever fixing any machines. About a third of them don’t work any any given time. The ones that do often don’t have hot water or fail to spin the water out of clothes. I now drive to mill valley to avoid this place whenever possible. Shame on new owners for making it worse than it ever was. It was never good but it worked well enough before.

Basing ourselves in Tiburon as we spend the week exploring SF and the wine country. Since we knew this laundromat was right down from our hotel, we packed light. All I can say is «It’s a laundromat». Standard mix of machines, change machine for quarters and baskets for moving your laundry around. Not spotless, but not run down or filthy like many I’ve seen. Everything worked fine and I was in and out in less than hour. Brought my own detergent pods so can’t comment on that selection. Go early in the morning and you can get a good breakfast at the Good Morning Café or Tiburon Diner while your clothes wash. To previous comments, remember commercial machines, particularly dryers, are much more efficient than home machines, so plan accordingly. I always dry clothes in 10 min increments at laundromats and check them frequently to make sure they are not over drying. All in all a great resource if you are staying in Tiburon for a week or longer.

Going to the dentist gets a bad rap. Perhaps this is due to an antiquated fear tied to stories from days of yore. Maybe you had a bad experience decades ago as a child when a dental hygienist was not terribly kind to you as a little boy(I don’t want to talk about it). Whatever your reason, all that is put to rest at Tiburon Dental. The knowledgeable and accommodating staff in this tranquil office, put you immediately at ease. Dr. Nadjibi is a dentist with a gentle touch, with proficiency in the most up-to-date procedures and dental techniques, as he is also an instructor at one of the top programs in the nation. Whether you’re going in for a routine cleaning, or a more in-depth procedure, be assured that you are in highly capable hands. My entire family, from my parents to my siblings, have all switched over to Tiburon Dental. And even though I live more than four hundred miles from the office, I always schedule my checkups with family visits.

Usually people review a place on Unilocal if it either makes them happy, pleases them greatly, or gets them to such a point of anger or frustration that they must seek justice if only in the form of free speech. My feelings about this Tiburon laundromat are in the latter realm. Let me say first what I like: they have three large washers(I am not counting the one out of order) and one very large commercial dryer and other larger dryers. I like that it’s 24 hours and close to my home. I like the lighting, which is an odd thing to say: but the lighting is pretty good at identifying stains we can’t see at home or in daylight. Often I am surprised by stains I didn’t know existed on white fabric. I also like that there is a sink and adequate hot water.(The Wash Tub in Corte Madera has no sink so if you get Oxy Clean on your hands you had better enjoy the stinging feeling for the duration of your visit.) What I do not like: the frustrated angry feeling of putting in quarter after quarter and then having the coins get stuck or refuse to be acknowledged by the reader which happens on nearly every machine all the time. I have never encountered a laundromat with so many coin slot issues. It’s nearly guaranteed that you will lose quarters and have no way to recover your money, and that you will pull all your clothes from one washer into another because you can’t get the reader to take your coins… Another thing I don’t like: the machines break down then they get a tag that says out of order, but they are never fixed(at least in the 4 – 5 weeks I have been going to this place I have not seen them fixed.) Many if not all of the machines are old, two rows of washers are in the style my father had in the 70s. Some of the driers show obvious rust. This concerns me because it feels like a gamble in terms of which machines might work well and which may be problematic. In one drier I saw flames behind the metal grate once or twice… I’m not sure that’s normal. The filth: the floors are so dirty that if you drop a wet item of clothing you are probably going to be disgusted by what has attached to it. Another complaint: the«Wash & Fold» woman/operator who arrives at about 6−7am. One night I had to do a great amount of laundry before guests arrived, and being a night owl and too busy for words, did it from 4am to about 8am, without sleeping that night. Before dawn I pull out the clothes from the driers and my drier sheets fall onto the floor. I have every intention of picking them up but first I deal with my clothes.(During a previous visit I even brought my own broom to clean up whatever had fallen.) The owner of the wash and fold arrives, mind you, it was still dark… She starts yelling at me nearly immediately as if I was her disobedient 5 year old without even saying hello or introducing herself. I’m insulted so I defend myself and say I had been up all night, the sheets had just fallen, I had intended to clean up. I was alone(the place is often empty) and then I picked them up, which took less than a minute! I felt irritated because I had more than purchased my right to be there and she acted as if she had just stumbled across a stranger in her home. Another thing, the driers don’t always close very well so some of the heat escapes into the air. If the owner of this laundromat wants it to stay open the coin slots need to be fixed, there needs to be a place with forms for coin reimbursement requests, the older rusted out machines should be removed, the place needs to be scrubbed… The floor replaced. The atmosphere now is of a dirty city public school. Tiburon is a «private school» type area. Give us a laundromat that feels up to date, fair and clean, and we ‘ll take our excess laundry there, gladly!

Dr. Bob is a great dentist! Not your typical older dentist, he is young but very experienced, a real pleasure to be around and visit with and always accessible — for those emergency calls, questions(about sensitive gums, loose teeth, etc). He has helped me with not only regular check ups, but gum recessions(from tooth grinding), made me night guards(with a real quick turnaround), helped me with my brushing technique and overall made my tooth and gun pain go away. His office is very convenient, right west of 101, on the other side of the Corte Madera Village, near the Peets. His staff is top notch, attentive, and professional. He also always has the most up to date equipment and cutting edge techniques, to make that dreaded dentist visit that much easier to get through! Also, he has great magazines in the waiting room and you can eat as many of those minty white gum balls as you like!
