Worse gyro ever. Straight to bathroom after the lamb gyro($ 10). Tasteless. Shouldn’t have eaten.

The mall was slow and we stopped in so the Mr. could get Indian food. This place was next door so I checked it out while he got his. I waited for about 5 minutes before anyone came out from behind the counter. Very persistent and had me try a sample. It tasted fresh enough so I gave it a go. I got a traditional gyro with the spicy sauce and veggies. Got home and needless to say, I was very disappointed. The pita was probably sitting all day, dry and brittle. The meat was bland and dry. The veggies were crisp, but mixed with the hard pita bread and dry bland meat, it was way too much work to eat. I ended up making my own at home(we had leftover lamb from easter and made homemade tzatiki sauce) and ended up tossing the gyro express one. Needless to say, probably will never go back.

Awful! I love the gyro shop at my local mall so I thought I cant go wrong. Was I wrong! The chicken gyro was dry and no flavor. I even found a bone while chewing. Skimpy on the lettuce, tomato and sauce. Took two bites and threw it away. A waste of $ 6. Don’t waste your money.

I’ve only tried gyro once before this. I was not a huge fan but this place has very tasty gyro! I will definitely be coming back! The portions ate huge too!

I know it sounds crazy but this is the best gyro I’ve had in Portland. I’ve been to really popular Mediterranean restaurants downtown and honestly, this place in the mall food court is he best and freshest ! I recommend the traditional(giant size) gyro with all the fixings on it and all the sauces including spicy garlic, taziki and Greek salad mix. Friendly staff, fresh food and not bad prices either.

There are so many other great places in Tigard to get a gyro. Tigard Pizza Kitchen and Grab A Gyro are so much better. The meat is low quality here. I think it taste more like beef than lamb. It isn’t flavored at all. The fries are low quality as well. The soda portions are tiny. The mall is a loud place especially the food court so it makes it hard to hear on both sides of the counter. I’m a big gyro fan and it is just isn’t up to par with any of the other local gyro places.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here. Quite possibly the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever eaten… and I eat a lot. The hummus and baba ghanouj was unrecognizable in both taste and texture. I almost broke my tooth on the HALF slice of pita they gave me with my hummus and baba platter. It’s a good thing the food was going in the trash since they didn’t give me enough pita to eat it with. Avoid this place at all cost.

Gyro Express in Washington Square have always been a welcome staple to the food court. They have fresh options, large portions, you can upside for $ 1.50. I have always enjoyed the Super sized traditional gyro with falafel. To the people writing negative reviews, one it saddens me that you have time to waste, writing a novel on Unilocal. Two, most of your complaints are petty, stupid, first world problems.

I love this place. I work in the mall and come here often. They have great service, reasonable prices and fresh food available in vegetarian and vegan options.

I like their platter with traditional meat very much. Neither the decoration nor the food look very fancy, but it tastes good. This is the only food stand that I would consider in Washington square.

I would first like to let you know that I have never written a bad review, and I hardly ever complain. I am the kind of person who will wait for my food, totally forgotten about and not say a thing until someone notices me standing there patiently. People are always nice and upgrade what ever I order with out me asking, and I carry on even though I waited an extra 10 minutes. So now that you know about me and my tolerance level let me explain as to why Gyro Express has earned only a single star. I must say their daily special which is what I ordered, is rather tasty. The customer service on the other hand was nasty and unprofessional. My mother and I got in line and there is a man in front of us who ordered the daily special. Which is two chicken skewers that is cooked fresh and served with rice and a small side salad(pretty good deal, and enough for two servings). I then ordered the same thing and they put another pair of skewers on the grill. The woman told me it would take about seven minutes to cook. My mom ordered her food, and got it instantly. We payed and then sat down. I saw the guy who had ordered before me get his meal. So I figured I would be soon. It had been about 10 minutes or so and I saw them arranging my plate. I went to go get it, and a woman who ordered after me came up also. I went to grab my plate, and the woman behind the counter insisted that the plate was not mine, but the blonde woman’s standing next to me. I didn’t put up a fight and they gave the food to her. In a state of shock I went back to our table where my family was almost finished with their meal. I asked my mother if that woman was behind us or if I was just imagining things. My suspicion was confirmed. It had been fifteen minutes since I ordered and I would not have time to eat since I had to be heading to work. I decided to be bold and stand up for myself. I went to the counter and said that I could not wait any longer and had to leave so I would like my money back. The young girl at the cash register went and got the lady who had irritated me in the first place. The woman told me that my food was almost done and said I could not get my money back. I told her that it had been almost 20 minutes now, and not seven as she had stated. I informed her that they gave my food to someone else and I would just like my money back. She argued with me that I was behind the other woman and that she could not refund me. I told her that I would just take my food to go then. I would have been fine if she had just left it at that, but while the boy working there packaged up my food she continued to argue that they had not messed up. I was taking my food, and they were keeping their money. She should of just left it at that. Needless to say I will not be returning. I work in customer service. I am a hair dresser, and the customer is always right! If someone is unhappy even if you think they are crazy pants or a stuck up bitch you give them what they want. If she had admitted their mistake, and told me in the first place how long it was really going to take I would have been fine, but she over promised and over delivered.

I didn’t expect to get a good gyro from here but was hungry and thought I might try it. I had the lamb gyro and took a bite off a friend’s steak gyro, both were really really good, and made with REAL meat! It did taste more like a lebanese or Egyptian shawarma than a greek gyro. gyro express!

I chose this place over the other spots in the food court because I thought it would be more healthy. I ordered the chicken platter and asked for it in a to-go box, because usually when I get a meal in a food court I have enough for two meals. I was stunned when I opened the box. There was HARDLYANYCHICKENATALL! I paid $ 6.85. I would have gotten way more food if I’d opted for Indian, Thai, or Chinese. The salad was pathetically small, too. Basically it was mostly rice, with about 1⁄3 of a chicken breast on top, sliced into pieces. I actually went back to the counter and expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for more chicken! The guy looked disgusted with me but he went to confer with the woman(in charge). He put two more minuscule pieces of chicken on top. I will NEVER return to this place again. What a waste of money!

Ordered a lamb gyro, I figured for $ 7.95 it would be delicious. It was okay at best. Dry meat and very scarce toppings I asked for more lettuce and the guy working told me it was extra. Will not be returning to this place.

This is part of the food court in Washington Square. For what it is, it’s not bad actually. For lunch, I like to get the traditional Gyro salad since the meat is savory, it comes with a variety of veggies, has a nice blend of sauces/dressings, and is low carb. The veggies consist of romaine lettuce, black olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onion. The sauces/dressings consist of a vinaigrette, tzadziki sauce, and a spicy orange sauce. I’m sure the gyro is good but I like this place for a low carb option and save the pita for cheat days.

What a rip off!!! $ 8.00 for a tiny Gyro with 4 pieces of meat in it, 2 frozen then deep fried falafel pieces(they are small) that don’t look like the picture and a drink. These employees skimp way hard on the meat in the gyro. It’s the cheap traditional kind too. The owner lady that works at the Indian place next to GExpress does not smile or talk ever!!! It’s a whatever mall gyro put some meat in it and get rid of the cafeteria crinkle cut fries. It’s bad when you realize the owners are trying to cut cost right in front of you. I get drudges every time I spend my money here.

Traditional gyro platter was incredibly dry and sauce bland. I ordered a side of falafel, they were the size of a quarter. Overall, a disappointment.

Based on my first impression, I’m inclined to say that the other reviewer hasn’t had many gyros or just doesn’t like them anyway. The standard, classic gyro was great. Made in front of me, it was really flavorful and the side of hummus was pretty freakin’ good. Way too good to be a mall food court joint. I loved it.

I was at the mall waiting for a jewelry repair and thought I would eat lunch while I waited. My favorite place is now gone(hot dog joint) and replaced by Subway, gross! I decided to try Gyro Express and boy was I sorry. It started out ok, he made my Lamb Gyro and I got the usual lettuce and tomato, I specifically asked for cucumber and the traditional sauce and had to pay 75 cents extra for a sprinkling of flavorless Feta Cheese. I sat down ready to dig in and the meat was just surreal, it was not the pre-made sliced stuff, nor the the kind they carve off the rotisserie but reminded me of large dry pieces of pulled pork or something. Did not taste like Lamb, no Cucumbers at all, and the sauce was in the bottom of the Gyro leaking all over the place. It was dry, gross and not worth the money. I would have to say it was the worst Gyro i have eaten, guhhhhrooossss
