This grill doesn’t have as many different things to put in your bowl as does Chang’s, but the food is all fresh and tasty. The sauces are better(imho) than Chang’s and the cook is the best I’ve ever had at a Mongolian grill. I asked him only once to be very careful not to burn mu noodles, and they have always come out perfect. He knows how to cook the fish so it’s never overdone, yet he gets the beef and lamb cooked perfectly as well. I’ll admit, the fried rice is dry, and the hot and sour soup is a bit odd,(though still good). But the pancakes and plum sauce are wonderful, and the tables and flatware are clean. I never miss stopping by when I’m in Tigard.

Might be the worst thing I have eaten in quite sometime. Im sure there are no Mongolians out there that would claim this place as their own, let alone people with tastebuds. Starting with the hot & sour soup. The soup was not hot, nor was it sour, and had some strange texture, water chestnuts I think. The fried rice was devoid of moisture and flavor. As for the Mongolian bbq, the ingredients were terribly cheap, and was slightly burned when the gentleman behind the counter was finished with them. The interior was unappealing and my spoon came to the table with a thin coating of oil on it. I cannot in good conscience rate this more than one star, or recommend this to anyone. I would avoid at all costs.

BEST buffet around! Best Mongolian BBQ period. And top 3 of my all-time favorites! First, Chang’s(the chain competitor) freezes their meat in slices. This place has raw chilled meat – huge difference in flavor, freshness and consistency. Second, they aren’t flashy and have been putting out great food and fresh food since ’91, so if you go in there and it is slow, it is because people driving by and passing up this gem, for flashy chain crap ingredients. Mateo has been behind the grill for 23 years as of this posting. The owners run a clean restaurant and if you get to know them, they are nice people with unparalleled histories. Third, just do it. Even if you are on the paleo diet, just go there after Cross Fit and protein load on the meat, brah. And if you are now living in the Tigard area, support this business that has been a staple in the community. Do not take this place for granted. $ 8.95 for a lunch that is delicious and fills your belly, how can you bet that?

I do like the food because you can tailor it to your tastes, but I went in this week to use the second and last of my Fox 12 Daily Deals and they had marked it used already. It was not used and I know that for sure because I’ve only been there twice and the first time was in August and there’s no way I used both of them. I don’t know if it was intentional or not.

First time here and it was definitely delicious, I’m sure there’s better places around Oregon but I would suggest this to anyone in the area. Worth a visit!

We went in about an hour before closing on a weeknight. Service was just fine, nothing to rave about, but they got the job done. Our cook had no issues, so we didn’t have anything burnt. It was really slow, so no food mixing. No matter where I’ve gone for this style there is ALWAYS crossover(yes, definitely at Chang’s) when it’s busy. You know this will happen, so you shouldn’t be surprised. The food all seemed at the right temperature. Personally, I don’t want all my meat still completely frozen so I can’t separate it and get it on my plate. It clearly had been and was slowly thawing, just like anyplace else(except when they first put it out). It was fine, no one got sick or anything. This is what you make of it, so if it’s not good, you’re really to blame. Our food tasted really good. The«dessert» is pointless. The soup was fine. They do, however, have half as many veggies to choose from than any other place I’ve been to. I would have liked a few more selections. It’s fine, not great, but gets the job done.

Absolutely the worst dining experience ever. Please do not eat here. The server literally just pointed at our table, didn’t ask if we wanted drinks, our food was burnt beyond recognition, I finally asked a bus girl for a soda, she brought me it with the paper still on the straw but in the soda, on second attempt at not burning our food we came back with bits and pieces of other people’s food, I asked for a refill only to told refills cost 1.00(SERIOUSLY?!? A BUFFETPLACEWITHNOREFILLS?!?). Horrific disgusting burnt rude service and no refills. Absolutely horrific. I work nearby and will be telling all my customers to avoid this place like the plague… which coincidentally given the luke warm meat at the cold table I’d be surprised if you don’t actually get the plague from eating here.

We went there at around 4pm on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was completely empty. We were offered soup, and we chose hot sour soup. It tasted gross. It was too salty to swallow. At the food bar, there were not many options to choose from. Just like the previous review said, the food was burned and tasted bitter. It was very difficult to eat. For the price($ 12) per person, it was not worth it. I would go to the newly opened buffet in the same strip mall which also has a mongolian bbq type cooking station, and also has much more food options and much more fresh food.

We like mongolian. Normally we head to changs. We had a coupon from the entertainment book and decided to give this place a try. We were not impressed. The soup was horrible. The meat was not frozen like at changes but was just sitting in a container and did not look very cold. Good selection of veggies and sauces. No rice wraps either. When I asked what the price would be for my two year old, the server looked bothered and said free as long as she ate from my plate. I went back and asked if I could just make her a small bowl as she mostly eats carrots and noodles and mine would be too spicy. Grumpily, she ok’d this. Due to the meat, gross soup and grumpy staff we won’t go back. Only good thing was they had nice veggies and some different sauces.

This place is alright. The desert/fruit bar is very sad. The only fresh fruit they had were oranges and there were only a 4 slices left. I wish they would have had more choices. I paid $ 12 for each person on a Sunday afternoon(around 5). They did have a variety of meat though(they even have lamb).

This place left me feeling so disgusted. The guy working the grill looked like he absolutely hated his job and was such a grump. Just like other reviewers said, our food tasted SO burnt and there were huge chunks of black grill scrapings on our plates. The cook mixed our food so close to other people’s that a piece of chicken ended up in mine(I’m vegetarian) and a few of my peanuts ended up on my boyfriend’s plate… He’s not allergic or anything, but what if he was?

My mom and I went for lunch. As we were waiting for our food to cook I happened to look over and see the waitress pour into the soup pot 2 soup cups. As in the serving cups she gives out. That freaked us out. The meat and seafood was room temperature no ice underneath. Other than that was clean but soup. and rice was horrible. I’d recommend any where else.

This place is great to stop in during«off» hours, eg. not on weekend dinner nights. When you go in when its slow, you get fantastic courteous service, heaping well stocked veggies and meats, and everything, including the grill, is clean. It feels good to go in and eat here. Or get to-go by the pound also. Its family-run, so they care about their business. But I’ve had good and quite bad service during full weekend nights, and the grill gets inconsistently scraped and oiled. I know how important that is because I worked on a grill at a philly cheeseteak place in college. You do not want gross charred bits of old food tossed into your tasty plate right? So, 4 solid stars. I love this place for what it is– not fine dining, but bomb food at affordable prices, clean environment, and support for a local place that is family owned.

YUM! This is the best Mongolian BBQ I’ve ever had. It’s probably because it’s authentic and not trying to be a yuppified chain place with hip new recipes. The staples in the proportions of your choosing result in a perfect plate every time.

Mongolian BBQ was cool. They allow you to make your own food. They cook it but you pick out all of the raw products and seasonings. I have to say, I know nothing about seasoning this kind of stuff and although it was interesting and fun I don’t think I can be trusted to make my own recipes haha It would have been much better if someone who knows this kind of stuff made it for me. I am just over there with the 40 containers that have sauces in them squirting this one and that one, god knows what it will taste like and I put WAY too much meat in mine, go light on the meat people you don’t really need as much as you think! Definitely worth a stop, maybe you need some experience first but we will all learn how to do it eventually right?!

My visit started out great, greeted immediately & brought to a table. Asked what kinds of soup & rice I wanted, then was sent off to make my bowl. The station seemed freshly stocked & there was a lady cleaning up sauce dribbles(Which are inevitable at a mongolian bbq!). But then it went down hill. The cook let my noodles sit so long in 1 spot that I lost ¼ of them to being stuck to the grill! Then he scraped some of those off and there were giant chunks of burnt who-knows-what on my plate. The entire dish tasted burnt. The other person with me had a similar issue. When we got to our table our soup was already cold & the rice was 1 tiny scoop in a mini bowl. I was able to pick minor bits out of my meal to eat, but when I went to make a complaint they simply said«You put too much sauces on, so it burnt». They refused to refund me any of my meal price. Don’t waste your money here. $ 25 for burnt noodles, cold soup, and almost no rice.

My kids and I eat here every weekend. The food is fresh and the staff is friendly. Lots of veggies; this is the only place I can get my daughter to eat any kind of veggies other than corn. All you can eat, and extremely reasonably priced. We can usually eat here for half of what we spend elsewhere(my son has a large appetite and this is all-you-can-eat). Hardy ever crowded; I’ve never experienced a wait. No salad bar, but there’s a little fruit bar. It’s true that at times the meats are frozen when you get there, but I’ve never felt that impacted the flavor. If one of the food bins is empty I just tell the staff and it gets filled right away.

Average food in a dated strip mall spot. The staff is busy but friendly, but on the night we went, it was super busy and it took for-freakin’-ever to get our drink orders placed. The food is pretty mediocre, especially the soups. Hot and sour is not hot, and the egg drop soup is even blander. The buffet has lots of choices for fresh veggies and meats. Since it was crowded when we went, many items needed to be replenished, and they were very slow to get to that. Some of the meats were still frozen, so it took a while of pulling frozen meat off the hunk with tongs, before I finally gave up. The«chef» who cooked the meal was overworked — it was just him and he had easily 8 different orders going on the grill at the same time. That meant that my noodles were hard and crunchy(aka burnt) and the meat was overcooked and tough. Another cook could have kept things moving, literally, so that wouldn’t happen. Terrible fortune cookies too — they’re the cheap ones that taste of coconut oil. Not one of my favorite places, to be honest.
