The people here are so nice. First time you go in and learn about the processes, taste some wines to decide what you want to make, and then mix your wine. I felt like I learned a lot more about winemaking than going to wineries. You get to design your own label and they direct you to programs that are user friendly if you don’t already using software like photoshop. The best part really is the bottling. It’s fun to bottle your own wine, cork it, and put on the seals(they have lots of colors to choose from too). The wine is delicious, but it’s a cool specialty item. I did this to give as gifts because it’s personalized and everyone I know likes wine. Really good activity to do with others and I would highly recommend.

My husband found them on line and planned a date night. You start out by tasting the wine you can choose to make. We went with the Cab. There white and red choices. Wow did we have a great time. Sharon the owner is truly a sweetheart and knows her stuff. She walked us through the process step by step and explained every detail. After making the wine we anticipated going back to bottle. Bottling and labeling was even more fun in our opinion. We got to taste our wine and it was quite good even though it was still very new. We are looking forward to the aged result and will recommend to friends and family. We even ended up purchasing more wine because it was such a great bargain. The process was fun and easy, so don’t be intimidated. Our custom labels turned out fabulous and we even got to add foil tops at no extra charge.

A co-worker suggested coming here and making some wine, then splitting the cost and the product. So we signed up and came in on a sunny Saturday morning for the first stage of the process — an overview of the entire process, and mixing our wine-to-be. It was so much fun! Sharon, the owner, is very personable and knowledgeable, and obviously loves what she does. We toured, learned, tasted, and mixed our wine. In about 8 weeks, we go back to bottle our wine(then we have to wait awhile to drink it… that will be hard!). You also get to design your own labels to put on your bottles. You email them to Sharon and she prints them and has them ready when you come back to bottle your wine. A really fun and interesting experience, and actually quite cost-effective. For those who think ahead, this would be an awesome way to create a personal wine for a special occasion, like a wedding, big birthday, or special anniversary. Just have to make sure you start early enough to allow the wine to go through the entire process, and age correctly. I enthusiastically endorse Tigard Wine Crafters — fun, educational, and you end up with your own private label wine! What’s not to like about that. :)

This place is so fun! We came in on a whim one day, and wound up getting to know Sharon, the owner. In November we came in to mix the juice and yeast, and this past week we got to bottle it. She kept us involved in the experience the entire time. Now we’ve got 24 bottles of white wine that will be ready to drink in time for summer! If you’re looking for something new and fun to do in the suburbs, I absolutely recommend coming out to Tigard and learning how to make your own wine.
