So this place is kind of off the beaten path… and I was getting a bit worried the further we drove, but it was worth the drive. We arrived to a perfect, mild sunny day and as such chose to sit outside. The seating area had a wonderful view of the mountains as well as the vineyard, For lunch we started with the fried smoked gouda with strawberry 5 pepper jelly… delicious. For our entrees we had the meatloaf with bacon mashed potatoes and green beans… all three were wonderful. In fact meatloaf always sounds boring to me but the glaze on it was quite nice. We also had the chicken and waffles which were probably even better than the meatloaf, but they did skimp on the syrup. As I wasn’t in the mood to allow my waffle to get cold waiting for more I just ate it, but as a suggestion order extra in advance. We also tried a few glasses of their wine. I am no wine snob but I have not found many vineyards outside your standard areas(France, California, etc) to be very good. This place made some pretty decent wine. My wife has a Petit something or other that was a white… it was a bit too buttery for me, but she liked it. I had a cabernet franc and I was very satisfied with it. All in all a very nice outing and a neat place to go check out.

Surprisingly good wines along with the good food from the Red Barn Café make a great afternoon visit. Friendly people and lots of history here.

While I will admit that the lady who took care of us was kind, funny and helpful, I regret to advise that her counterpart was not so wonderful. We mentioned we were from Miami, and one of the women working there had the audacity to say«I lived in Coral Springs FL, but would never go to Miami. That place scares me. I am afraid I would get out of the airport and make a wrong turn»…I am sorry, I don’t know what sad and sheltered life you had, but Miami is not some gang ridden hell hole. It was so offensive for her to basically say, in other words — «I don’t want to end up in some minority neighborhood». It was racist, insulting and uncalled for. I guess that type of closed mind is how you end up in Clayton GA. Besides that, their wines aren’t very good. Too acidic for my taste. Not smooth. Like I said, the lady who took care of us was nice, kudos to her. But her colleague, no thanks. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place at all.

Red Barn Café is the best Restaurant in the area! Discovered this Gem fall 2013. Food & staff exceptional. View, overall dining experience can’t be matched. Add Tiger Mountain Winery on top & you have one of the premier dinning destinations in the South — if not the country. Tiger Mountain Wines is an up-coming player in their industry — representing Georgia the right way. Whether you are looking for an afternoon activity/explore the vineyard — or enjoy great southern cuisine * Tiger Mountain/Red Barn is the spot

This is a review of Red Barn Café, not the wine /vineyard. Okay I’m a wine snob. You cannot make great wine in the 3rd wettest county in the US. Way too much rain. Grapes must struggle. Having said that Tiger Mountain wines are good, very easy to drink… Their spring and fall parties are amazing. So now on to the bad part. They opened the Red Barn Café I guess a year or two ago. Wife and I finally went by on Saturday for lunch over our favorite place Formage(best food in Clayton). What a mistake. The back story is another chef created the menu and someone else is executing it. Two mistakes, chef is missing on a cohesive menu, the cook does not execute it well. My wife had the burger and it was a goopy mess of too much and the meat itself was just bad. I had a braised beef sandwich that lacked any sort of flavor except the hideous pickles they stuck on it. The pasta salad that accompanied it was a thin ranch dressing covering poorly cooked pasta(shockingly bad). Also the service is very weak. we sat for 10 minutes without water or menu’s, our waiter finally came by and asked if we were ready to order… blind to the fact that we had not even seen a menu… just miss after miss… very disappointing. We most likely go back to the wine tasting parties, but will not go back to the Red Barn until they get a chef on site rather than someone phoning it in…

AHH-Mazing! My boyfriend and I made a little«day-cation» to Clayton to see the leaves turn this past fall and stumbled upon Tiger Mountain Vineyards(Thanks Siri!). The entire property is adorable. We walked in the tasting room and enjoyed every single wine on the list! The staff(and by staff I mean the one gentleman that works in the tasting room.) is very friendly and informative. You can taste all you want for only $ 5, which is great! We purchased our wine and were told that we should walk around the property. We strolled through the vineyards and peeked into The Red Barn Café then headed back home. This was a Tuesday. Saturday afternoon we found ourselves back at the Red Barn Café for lunch with my parents. The menu is small, it’s all catered. My boyfriend stated that the food is «fancy food». Meaning, they didn’t have a burger and fries(although I do believe a burger was an option.). They were nice enough to give us a taste of wine due to the fact that they were out of my new favorite(The Petit Manseng). The staff is amazing(again) and we plan to go back for their holiday open house! I cannot say enough great things about this little jewel! A must see.

Finally made it to Tiger! We always pass here on the way home from NC– but always after 5pm. Enjoyed the tasting experience. Cute tasting area with character, cool wood barrels behind the bar. I wouldn’t rate the wines well, I like a more full bodied wine. Some of the wines were ok, but not strong enough for me to enjoy a glass. They were light. Some of the reds were ok, didn’t care for any of the whites. I didn’t tour the outside grounds but they sound nice. Glad to have stopped by. Very friendly bartender.

Uh-dorable. We made a little impromptu trip to lil Tiger, Georgia, and just made it to Tiger Mountain Vineyards before closing time. Taste away a selection of wines with the friendly folk in the tasting room — they specialize in reds and sip everything from a Malbec to their«Rabun Red,» named for the county. Picturesque in every sense of the word, especially when it comes to the red barn and grassy green lawn where you can uncork that Malbec you just bought since they encourage you to ‘enjoy under the trees.‘ Not only less than a two hour drive from the Atlanta area, the location is nestled among plenty other nature-y things to do in North Georgia! If you get addicted to this local vino, no worries — you can purchase it at many retailers around Atlanta. Sit back, sip and enjoy!

As my husband and I pulled up to Tiger Mountain Vineyards, my mind immediately flashed back to where I was the year before-CA wine country. The tasting room has been described as «Napa Sheek». You’re instantly welcomed by friendly faces like Judy to enjoy a taste of their vineyards. All of their staff is very informed of their wines and where to lead you on your tasting. If you have time and the weather is nice, buy a bottle to enjoy at the picnic tables out back overlooking the red barn and vineyards. I will certainly be back again!
